how do i change my name

yes i just made an account today and all it did was tell me to log in my username and passwrod at first, but then when it said enter second life or something like that it told me to put down my first name and last name for my second life avatar but i never made a name yet?

your last name is RESIDENT.  So you are now TheBrow123 Resident.

The only time you will ever need to use the last name Resident is when you are logging in to SL with one of the V1 style viewers, like Phoenix.  If your second name is Resident, all of the V3 style viewers require only your "first" name, which is now the standard in Second Life.

You would have had to choose a name when you first signed up, when you chose your initial avater. Rolig and Storm are correct in that your last name will be Resident. But if you don't want to use that for anything but logging in you can always use a display name.
