Making duo poses in Qavimator?

I know you can "add" a preexisting pose in Qavimator, but that automatically causes the imported avatar to overlay on top of existing avatar. If I manually edit one avatar's coordinates so it's beside the other avatar, that will mess up the pose, because most poses don't have 0,0,0 as the coordinates. So what's the proper way of making duo poses in Qavimator?

I haven't done this in awhile but I think I just moved one of the avatars to the side to line up. You can do that in the second set of sliders (underneath the ones you use most often in the sidebar).

Move the sliders on the x coordinate a bit to the left, add another character and change the gender to male. Then move his sliders to where you want him to stand.
