I didn't say it was the cheapest, just that I'm very happy with it and have had no problems. I'm not going to change now.  What you decide on is of course, your choice.

As BT owns the infrastructure, if you're with any provider, you're *technically* with BT, but paying another provider for the service. You're paying so much money for a service you can get cheaper elsewhere. Potentially saving you hundreds each year!

    Honestly......

TalkTalk. They are the cheapest I have found and in the last year I have only had 1 incident of downtime. They are always fast and I never notice any slowdown during peak hours and you can usually wangle a good deal out of them over the phone. Before I upgraded I was getting standard broadband, unlimited for 11.99 a month where as other people were paying closer to 20+.

Stay away from BT as they charge through the nose for the same services found cheaper (and better) by other providers.

Virgin can be good and has very high speeds but only if you live in the right areas to receive them and still not as cheap as other providers.

Out of all of them though I would recommend TalkTalk. Cheap and fast and efficient.

Had a really bad experience with TalkTalk.. my internet connection would literally drop every hour if I were downloading or uploading too much. Paid a lot of money to cancel with them early. Would never go back with them.

I mean, times may of changed since then tho? lol.

I've been very happy for years with BT.  Stable, fast connection and very few outages (very early morning for a few minutes usually).  I pay about £60 a month for broadband on the fastest speed, unlimited weekend calls, and mobile plan.  I've never had a cause for complaint, and the few times I've called them, to enquire about changing packages, were very pleasant experiences (friendly, patient, knowledgeable people who look for ways to save me money).

Hmm, £40 per month is soooo expensive. I'm currently looking at Vodafone Broadband. Speed up to 65mb for £25 per month! Online reviews seem good too.

Virgin Mobile or Virgin Media?   People are recommending Virgin Media -- I don't know about anyone else but I wouldn't use Virgin Mobile again (they're a separate business under the Virgin umbrella).

Eek, sorry, I meant Virgin Media! I am actually with Virgin Mobile, and haven't had any problems!

  5. Soooo... I've saved and collected 1k from my weekly $L50 stipend each month, and thought because of the huge milestone piano:, I'll sell the $L! ?

I totally forgot about the transaction fee LL takes... so pretty much, I'll be waiting for a nice chunky, less than $0.70 to be deposited into my Paypal account... oh, and don't forget the PayPal fee too lol.

  6. Used to love playing Slingo back in the day, is there any games similar to Slingo? I understand that there is 'No Devil', but it seems that there are just single games.

Does anyone know of anywhere where you can play something similar to Slingo with other residents, all at the same time, just like you could with Slingo?

Well nobody knows what style you like so maybe some more details would help.  Check out some of the blogs and flickr related to second life shopping.  There are quite a few men's shopping events too now.  Check those on the seraphim website  http://seraphimsl.com/

I'd just want to see what others favorite sellers were, and I'd probably hand choose from then on. So not preference really. But thank you, I'll take a look at that website. :)

  8. Good morning!

Apologies if this was supposed to be in the 'Shopping' forum, but it looks pretty dead in there... thought I'd get a better response posting here.

I haven't bought any new clothes in foreverrrrr, literally forever. Who are some of the best SL designers for Mens clothing? I need everything, a nice AO, skins, shoes, hair.. etc. I have around $L10k to spend.

Any known locations of designers in the market place, etc.

Many people don't want to do the second transfer (to PayPal), so, for them, it's only one fee. They cash out their L$ to US$ and leave it where it is so that so that LL can take it for tier and premium membership - mostly for tier.

Yeah I got you. I don't have any land in SL, (Well, I don't usually, but I've just taken advantage of the holiday sale of SL Quarterly membership for $11.95, so right now, I do have 512 of land lol.) But... I'd much rather spend the money outside of SL.

the info you look for is easier to read in the knowlegdebase

I cannot seem to find the additional fee you are talking about in the knowledge base. I am assuming you mean the Paypal fee to accept this transaction from LL? I think the only fee you get charged is the fee LL takes when you sell. I don't think they have an additional charge to transfer it away, apart from Paypal.
