I remember starting at out 2 mainland sims called Koss and forgot the name of the other. They have perma winter and i absolutely adore winter in rl & sl. And i thought i legit saw a ghost there. They had these japanese style houses with sliding doors and i swear one of the doors was opening but nobody was there *laughs*

When winter sims were released I absolutely loved them! Not so much now though, I prefer the beautiful sandy islands.

    I must be weird...

I love Second Life - and I am nearly 9 (maybe that's my mental age too!).

One of my first warm and fuzzies is the SL sunise and sunset... and I still enjoy it. And OMG - SL water...

These are closely followed by taking things apart (thanks creators that allow modify) - and dropping random scripts in things to see what happens.... Which I sort of still do... maybe with a bit more knowledge now.

    :)

Tottally get where you're coming from when you mention sunrise, sunset and the SL water.

I miss the old viewer, I still use it through Phoenix viewer though.. but still sad knowing it's not default.

Is it me, or are people in SL not as friendly? people just don't reply to random hellos when you see them in the same sim you're in. :(

  3. What makes you get that warm fuzzy feeling of SL nostalgia?

I remember back in 2004 / 2005, had around 5 friends who always hung out - we travelled so many sims on this plane one of them bought.. ahh man, I still have them people added to my friends list, but not even sure when they last logged in.. I do send them an i.m every now and then in hopes they still have the same email (Assuming they're getting i.m's delivered to their email.) Ahh man. :o

    What about yourself? :)

We are redoing the office this fall / winter and have already decided that we will have sit/stand desks.  We are having trouble deciding on the exact model though.  My husband and I both need workstations as we both have to be able to work at the same time via the wired connections.  Also, trying to find the best functionality that fits well in the room at a reasonable cost is an interesting feat in itself.

I would recommend a Mac, just because I'm absolutely in love with them :D

I made the switch in 2009, and haven't looked back since. I used to have so many computer issues when I used to run a Windows machines. Have you been to your local Ikea? I picked up my desk and chair from there and I love it.

This is an electric sit/stand desk. The top is a kitchen counter top from Ikea. The monitors are 27 inch curved. This photo is from my last apartment. Forgive the showing cords =/ I still need to remount my monitors in this new place.

OK, I'll bite.... here's the old home rig. It's and old Gateway 2000 case with it's Pentium II sticker still on the case. Inside it's an i7 4790, 12GB RAM and an Nvidia GTX 660. I use a 120GB SSD for my system and a 2TB HDD for data. Works for me :) O/S is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. That's Cubase Pro 9 on the main monitor and SL on the secondary monitor.

This is something like one of the ones we were looking at but a newer one..

Those slots open and close as it needs more air or not,I guess..

Now that is COOL. Thanks for sharing!

Assuming that the computer is very loud to start with, so that any dust will be removed with a good 5 seconds of fan high power? is that the case? :P

I had Amazon Prime for the whole past year..I never used it that whole time..

What was nice of them was,The day before my next year was due,I canceled.

They ended up giving my whole years subscription fee back..It was like $108.00 USD,if I remember right..

I never expected them to do that..I was very shocked actually and impressed, because I just never really had a company do anything like that before..

Amazon are absolutely amazing at customer service, I received a package from them all damaged and they gave me 3 months of prime for free. :)

That sounds potentially blissful, as long as you didn't get caught in the sharp heavy cloudburst we had here at around 10am (it'll give the vehicle a good wash). Fish and chips always taste better by the seaside. Looking forward to receiving an update when you get back to your computer, and hope you had a fab day.

If I was still living in Minehead, which is by the sea, and it was a non-working day (I used to work on the holiday camp there, so often worked overtime on Saturdays doing Meet and Greet, which was a lot of fun), I would have had a wander to the sea front, sat and watched the holidaymakers for a while, popped to see my old mate, Maureen, who would have done me some beans on toast (why does that always taste better when someone else cooks it for you? :) ), then I would have gone home via one of the shops, having purchased a selection of newspapers and no doubt some chocolate or ice cream.

My day was great, REALLY busy at the beach today, walked around 12 miles, had fish and chips and then headed home!

That sounds like a good life - something worth getting up so early in the morning for.  Daylight is just starting to break here at 4.10am - is it daylight at that time where you are?

I've currently got the best c o c k in the world on my shoulder (c o c k a t i e l / parakeet).  It is just gone midday here, very sunny at the moment, and hotter than 1976! Have had a bit of a tidy up in the garden, have had a cooling shower, am enjoying a full fat frothy milky coffee, and feel relaxed.

Paradise - even just little pieces of it - can be found almost anywhere, if we choose to see them. I kind of wish I could teleport across to see what its like where Ceka is, and I definitely would gatecrash the OP at the seaside with me bucket and spade ;) .

    Wow.. that sounds amazing!
