  1. Hi Cassie!

Yes, you will be able to get the new linden home.  Of course, it is first come first serve and they are going out quickly, but don't give up.  They try to release them everyday or every other day depending on how much they've completed.  Just don't give up.  Keep checking to see if it is available.  😃

Hi, does anyone know if there are texture packs for the walls and floors for the new traditional linden homes? I can't see one in the creation pack and it would really help me out. Failing that, has anyoen got the UDD codes for the various textures in the homes. Many thanks for your replies.

Yes there are.  Depend on the new Linden Homes you have there is a way for you to get it.

If you have the regular house, just click on the mailbox and choose LH- Content Creations Pack.

Just open the box and all of the textures will be in it.

Last comment got deleted and  account banned but i'll say it again.....

i don't know how to put my fustration into words the lindens will deem acceptable but this is like ummm WHAT?

re-issuing an old gift isn't making any of us feel better about the slow home release .... in fact it feels like a slap in the face TBH

i was in SL when the original linden homes came out over a decade ago and you guys rolled them out in big lumps and everybody got a house....

this is slow and we could handle it when we actually had a chance to get one.... but 25 homes dropped when most of us were sleep seems unfair.... i mean they were literally gone in 7 seconds     (wonders if they r taking down anything negative... there were more negative post comments earlier...)

Second Life Staff work hard and try to listen to the community.  After hearing positive feedback about the cabin they want to give it a go.  It's not easy to please everyone, but they do take feedback from the community so they can learn and improve the quality on Second Life.   Just be patient with the new homes,  they want to make sure that the homes won't have problems when the residents claim them.  The Lindens and Moles are working non-stop to make sure the homes are ready to be release.  I know it can be annoying to wait for them and then it gets taken quickly.  Just keep checking the Linden Homes page to see if any new homes are available.

As for deleting negative comments that's not true.  As long as you aren't violating the community forums then your post will stay up.

I admit, I was curious how you were going to mark a ghost on a houseboat. So I stealthed in LOL TP'd to the region first and after making sure no one was around, I took the SLURL. Anyone else worried landing in someone's home, you don't :)

I was wondering where @Patch Linden placed the stone.  I couldn't find it, but now I see. It's underwater.  After the house is nicely decorated I will hold a memorial service.

Let it forever be known that this houseboat is haunted!  Sorry we don't disclose hauntings before acquisition, best of luck with it, hopefully it's friendly.  A marker stone has been placed and it should be entered into the haunted tour locations.

I guess you didn't know about California Civil Code § 1102, where you are required to disclose information about the property. 😋  I hope this ghost is friendly.

  8. I'm super excited about my houseboat.  As soon as it's done, I will post pictures :)  We have a visitor staying and I informed he/she that if you plan on staying you must pay rent.  After all,  since Premiums are going up, might as well help and foot the bill.

Quick question, after we get the linden home aren't we suppose to get an email about the new home?

    Sick trend. Very sick.
Doing nothing by clicking on the settings of the base account to impose restrictions, twisting people's hands and kicking them in the ass, so that the risen VIP can be registered
    Total arbitrariness and bullying.
Tomorrow, Lindens will impose additional sanctions for basic accounts - they will limit the number of clothes, number of accounts per person (email), the number of characters in the message, remove personal albums, remove avatars photo, set a limit on the number of teleportations, introduce a commission of 200 percent on depositing money ...,
    Trust is completely undermined.
    Lindens lost face.
We need guarantees and clear that never in the future Lindens will not make the players worse, but will only do better.

How can people put money into the game if they are hated, they are curtailed with rights and opportunities, are they bullied and worse?

i don't think they were trying to do it on purpose, i think they were trying to help to improve on revenue costs.  I do think that there needs to be more community input.  Holding monthly events with LL staff around talking to the people and hearing their voices.  I understand they can't do everything that the community wants, it will show they are interacting more with the community.

  10. I just want to take the opportunity to thank Linden Lab staff for listening and hearing our concerns and issues about the recent updates.  For me being part of different virtual worlds, I have seen them come and go.  About 9 years ago, a virtual world that I love closed down due to financial issues.  It came back 2 years later, however; it's still not the same.  Here on Second Life, the world continues to grow even through the hard times.   I'm happy to see that Linden Labs staff are listening to the community and taking on our inputs.  It's important that both the company and community to continue to communicate with each other for it to succeed.  There are many great ideas on how to help and improve Second Life.  I've seen a lot of helpful ideas to improve on the Second Life Premium Membership Packages.  I love the tier level idea.  Having Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum packages.  Each one can have it a set price, and different types of packages it will receive.   Thank you again for hearing us  :)

Thank you for keeping the groups the way they are for non-premium members.  I understand you want to keep groups on the best performance as possible.  Hopefully, the overloading issues can be fixed in time with limited disruptions.   My recommendations to have if you plan on increasing any limit before it's done make sure it goes through some testing before it's released to the public this way there won't be any concerns about it and won't need to take back what is given to all. :) Thank you again.

Hi! So, I am very afraid of pitchforks - please be gentle.

I just wanted to briefly address groups maths. It's true that the groups of Basic accounts are being lowered by 7, and the groups of Premium accounts are being raised by 10 - and if you look at that math alone, it might not seem to add up. However, most residents have at least one alt. Technically, you can have up to 5 alts, and many residents are not entirely limited by that technicality. But let's you had one Premium Membership and 4 Basic alts - the number of groups you could have on your main account would go up by 10, but the total number of groups you could be a member of would go down by 18. This is important because all members of groups contribute to lag, even inactive group members. This is especially true for group chat. There are residents who have a lot of alts that they have not used in years that are still part of groups, and they are slowing those groups down. Lowering the number of groups for Basic accounts will not be a quick fix for this issue, but reducing the number of groups Basic members can join could help keep it from building further as we go forward.

    Hi Kat,

I understand what you mean.  However, I'm still confused about the original statement that was made.  If the groups were overloading, why increase the limit in the first place?  If they are causing such a lag, then why implement an increase?

Yes, most have alts so people could use there alts to join groups, however; sometimes if you join a group that has updates in regards to clothing, or land you won't be able to see it unless you log in.  Also, some use alts for storage purposes.    I think if it's that much of a big problem, then maybe it isn't best to increase the groups until they are fully fixed.

I use a debit card and there are no fees imposed by my bank on it or my bank account. If you are a student or considered to be a senior citizen (50/55 +), no fee accounts are available. But you have to ask about them because even though they are available, the banks naturally want you to pay out your nose for an account that has a minimum balance that's too high for low and fixed incomes.

Was it really necessary to raise your prices? :(

Your bank may not have a fee, but VISA/MASTERCARD/DISCOVER/AMEX all have a transaction fee.

I see people going on about fee's.   VISA/Mastercard, MOST processors raised their fee's,  I do own my own webhosting/vps/vpn business,  my fee's went up,   I am passing these along to my customers with emails going our reflecting my new pricings,  some people are not happy, but THIS is not a one time fee per day, this is PER transaction and get's expensive quickly if I try to eat it myself,  first year I was in business I ate the fee's, I was in the black so bad, I had to make a change, I had to offload my fee's to my customers or I was going out of business,  While this might not be the case for LL directly,  these fee's can affect bottom lines and make companies rethink about how they need to manage their profits and the expenditures.

I know people will not be happy with my reply, but basically it has to be this way.

If that's the case why not have the fees handle by PayPal or Stripe?  This way they won't have to handle any of the processing fees.  Most companies are going through third parties and have them handle all of the transactions. Both PayPal and Stripe have a 2.9 percent  + 30 cents charge.

  15. This is my first time writing in the forums in here so bear with me.  lol.

I get the reasons why the increase needs to happen.  Running a virtual world isn't cheap and can be very costly.  Being part of a virtual world that closed down and recently opened, I know it can be a struggle to make some profit to keep it going. I do have a few suggestions that could benefit from both Premiums and Non-Premium members.

    For Premium Members

    Groups:  Increase to 70.

Weekly lindens increase from 300 to 500L.

If you pay a yearly fee you receive a bonus of 2,000 lindens.  That will be given after 30 days.

If you pay a quarterly fee, you get your bonus of 1,000 lindens.  That will be given after 30 days.

Transaction Fee:  Keep at 2.5 percent or increase it to 3 percent.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Non - Premiums:

    Groups:  Keep it at 42.

Transaction Fee:  Increases to 5 percent.

Offline Messages can decrease to 15.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new homes are beautiful, reducing the tier costs are great.  However; I feel that the perks of having premium haven't really changed much.  Maybe these ideas might help to boost subscription and also, to keep non-premium members happy.

I do have a question though about the groups.  If they are overloading the group functionality then why increase them, to begin with?  Wouldn't it make more sense to keep them low until you find a way to not to overload them?
