  1. "The key is not to confuse 'privately owned' and 'publicly owned' property." For your and others information. Most western democracies have laws that prohibit owners of stores and other "public" places like restaurants and cinemas from denying people entry for no reason. Race, family, friends, religion and that kind of stuff are in these democratic countries not valid reasons to not allow people to enter a store, restaurant or cinema. That stores and malls do this any how does not make it OK and by the law.
  2. Why is every one telling me I am not allowed to speak my opinion? Tell me I am wrong (why I am wrong is good to add, I might change my mind) but PLEAS do not tell me not to speak my opinion!!! My opinion is that that kind of behaviour I depicted in my first post sucks. Period! I am entitled to that opinion and I am entitled my right to talk about in an effort to make an impact on other people to an end maybe even make things change. "you said you never shopped there so it makes no difference if you are banned or not." You did not read all of it did you? This is not about me trying to gain access to the sim what so ever. I hade business there because my business partner wanted to attend a hunt held by one of the residents that did not know the in world market place owners randomly banned people for no reason hence causing the hunt organizers loosing 3 customers, among them me and my business partner. This is a general question, is this what we want in Second Life? Should we just accept **bleep** just because it is there? Is a good resident a resident that takes *bleep** and shuts up? Am I a bad egg if I as innocent bystander say "ouch" when ran over? Becoming Chinese suddenly seams attractive.
  3. "But whining about it on the forums wont make a difference." Au contraire I am happy to say. At this moment, as I am typing this, there is things happening (nothing that actually concerns my case) that solwes some other persons problems thanks to that I whined about it. ;-)
  4. "As my business grew I found other great groups to belong to and opened new satellite stores with no intention of leaving or jeopardizing the first. One day, without communication of any kind from it's owners, my ability to send notices to the group members was revoked and when asked, the owners would not respond to any of my questions (and never have to this day)." Does not matter if same market place or not but yet another example what one hope not to find in SL.
  5. "let them enjoy the right to abuse their ban hammer if they want... it's just them cutting down their odds of makign a buck.. spend elsewhere..you don't want to spend on them anyways.. *winks*" I so totally agree. =) How ever things not so good (in this case in my opinion) need to be talked about or nothing would never ever change and we all would still be having mammoth for dinner or nibbling flint stones in pure boredom.
  6. "Has he contacted the sim owner and explained this to them? Perhaps they will let him participate. " Why should I be needed to do this in the first place?
  7. "He is using words like terrorism and apartheid to describe being banned from a sim. That to me sounds like why he may have issues with not being welcome into certain places. I appreciate your comment though." You should maybe try to read what I say one more time and this time not read it as devil is reading the bible. You like the owners of the market place do not know me as person, does not know any thing about me and there for there is no reason to ban me or others in same way from a public commersial land. There is many bad bad names for that kind of behavior. There is also a term "freedom of speach".
  8. My point... SHOULD there not be a "terrorist act" in SL? Random banning no reason from commercial land in world SHOULD be against TOS. One thing is private non commercial property, there I have no objections what so ever. Another thing is open sims for commercial purpose. In South States and in Sout Africa the banning for other reason than personaly related security reasons from commercial public land was called apartheid. Is this what we want in SL? In TOS or not but is it what we want in SL and should there not be some kind of restriction of general banning from commercial public land?
  9. I'm not in a hunt for people or businesses in SL. My point is... are we doing this **bleep** in SL to??? Are humanity that stupid we do not see a good chanse when we see it? We just have a urge to trash it?
  10. Found out after 3,5 years in SL I "finaly" got banned from piece of land. I have never ever been banned from any land I have been on or from land owned or managed by people I meet and communicated with. I got an IM from my business partner that sadly found out she was banned from a sim she never hade visited or never hade contact with the owners. She found out when she heard of a hunt they organized and wanted to participate. She gave me name and I TP'd there from map search just to find out I was banned as well. I started to look in to this and found out that me and my business partner was not the only persons banned for no reason. Well there might be a reason but good one? I will let you decide if this is what we want in Second Life. This in world market (the owners) are in a stupid drama with another inworld market (its owners). What happened is that every one that seams to have been involved in some way with the other in world market (or its owner) is by "default" banned. Several persons have been banned without visiting the sim or ever never been in contact with the in world marketplace owners. Real life is full of prejudice cus of skin colour, language and dialects, religion, sexuality & gender, who’s the parents ect etc. To me Second Life is a place where I can take my good apples from RL and seed them off and leave the crap and human stupidity behind me in the real world. I do not care the least about market A's and market B's stupid immature drama so why should I and other innocent bystanders suffer from this **bleep**? In real world using innocent victim in a fight is called terrorism. Is that a good thing from RL we want to bring in to SL? Should there not be some kind of terrorist act in SL?
  11. "You don't have to use it. Set all the privacy settings to nobody or friends only. Problem solved" That was not my point. Any one with some little experiance in SL know that there is alot of drama, crap, griefing and spaming activities going on. The MySeconLife.com feature is yet another thing that nutcases can use to pest other peoples staying in SL. So to the point... MySecondLife.com is some thing MANY have not payed attention to and it starts to deliver some unpleasant surprises. What annoys me is that the features this site offers are by default set to full public publicity by default. It should not be up to me NOT TO USE, it should be up to me TO USE.
  12. Well I am amazed over the self righteousness in the way this feature was implemented by Linden Labs. ASK first before you make it possible to follow me (I might not like that) and before posting things I do and change viewable for any one with a SL-account (I might not like that either). If some one with half a brain at LL had done this they would make the MySecondLife account basic as presented in Second Life. They should have made the options SELECTABLE and not force you to chase your ass off to find out how and if one can turn sharings off etc. If I asked you first it made it ok... but not even ok is ok if not asked first. (Does not only apply to sexual activity!)
  13. We are a bunch of friends sitting in SL right now talking about the mayhem of twittyfaceholic that invaded even SL. These "Xxxxxxx Resident* 20 days old peeps/alts that starts to follow and the annoyance of all put out there no questions asked and with limited possibilities to decide what to be seen. Why could not Linden Lab just make this an option? Just put the same info as the profile and let the user decide what features one want to ADD ON instead of trying to afterwards find out how the hell one can take crap features off that only annoye's? God never need's to ask but damn it, Linden Lab has to!!!
  14. I am pussled. Is there a setting to take away the restricted testure repeats per face in V2? I need 256/4 to make my mesh items to work.
  15. Oki! This is sorted out and the conclution is: These things can happen and it is UGH! LL knows about this. IF they happen, send a CRS ticket with all vital information here -> https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ The Direct Deliver will hopefully take away this kind of misshaps in the future. Thank you Brooke and Kimmora for good support.
  16. Oki Im a goof :smileysad:. Sorry Brooke! I read your reply like way to fast and thought you ment you wanted me to put the order number in this case in the WEB-4162 ticket. I looked and saw the only place stateing the order number was in the customer account statement. I read your reply here again and realized, that was NOT what you were saying. My bad - SORRY!
  17. Brooke Linden did reply on the ticket with a good explanation but there is some surprising elements. "Unfortunately, this is an old issue that has existed since before XStreet was incorporated into the Second Life Marketplace." On the other hand: "The Magic Box attempts to deliver the item, gets a communication error and reports a failed delivery to XStreet. In a very small set of cases, the delivery actually succeeds though a failure is reported to XStreet." So I guess I was just unlucky couple of times and that the upcoming direct delivery feature might be some thing to look forward to? If I'm gona be picky, this answer sort of tells me that Linden Lab can not guarantee me sales/delivery reporting accuracy on SLM at this point (never could actually). So will I sell my stuff on SLM or not - and if I do, is it worth the 5% fee of service? What I might have lost can have cost me allot more than 5% but on the other hand... I will not sell much if not listed on SLM. I feel Mr Rosedales cold hands around my balls. (Joking).
  18. "Good idea for selling from boxes. This is where a network vending system wins though." Hmm No. I have to disagree. If you only need to sell some few items out "of box" then the über web based iPodificated supergrid control vendor does not win. :matte-motes-wink:
  19. Here is some ideas I got from reading about store ads and prices on them. Not perfect but a solution that might fit some ones needs. Make box and hollow it out. Apply the ad texture inside the box on the hollow face and tiled so the ad is fitted on each side inside the box on the hollow face. Highlight the hollow face texture and flatten the prim on the X or Y axis. Turn one or both flat X/X or Y/Y outside faces transparent* for now. Make a alpha texture with the price placed in a suitable corner, "SALE" stamp or what ever and put on the face that is made transparent but take off the transparent*. Use white text so it can be tinted in any color when on the board. Set the sales features on the prim and you have a one prim sales panel with one static ad surface and dynamic surface for pricing and other info. The good thing is that price texture can be used over and over again. Negative features are that one need a price texture in alpha for each price and the ad should be made with the placing of price in mind. Also the hollow face side-faces show. This can be solved if using some kind of low prim shelf or wall frame setup for ad-boards to "over stretch & hide" it in. Another more space needy way to do it is to cut a prim "Path Cut" B=0.125 E=0.625. This gives 2 surfaces flat from same view where you can put 2 textures. This takes more space but i use it for items I want 2 pictures for. Make a small hollow and make the hollow surface transparent and it looks like it is two different prims. Set the sales settings and you once again have a multi surface sales prim.
  20. "I don't know what we can do about it tho, since we have no idea if it is happening except in isolated cases, and I doubt LL is going to pay much attention." You are probably right Pamela. I'm a micro merchant and hobby creator with a second class citizenship in Second Life so my hopes are low. I do have only limited experience of these kinds of things. What I this far learned from my only few previous need for help and explanation from LL sets my level of hope only a hiccup above zero. What I DID do... I started this topic, I filed a ticket (WEB-4162) and I took all my items down from SLM (not because I think LL will tremble out of fear but to protect my rights as creator to get paid. To have control over sales and who is and is not entitled my support). Maybe this is not much but it is what i CAN do. I have little hope though that what little I did might help if this happens to some one else again.
  21. I have been waiting for my customer to get back on line to get her acount statement before filing a ticket. She just did and we found out.... She and other customers of mine have bought items, got them delivered and I have not got the money and Linden Lab have then refond the customer the money. I'm sending a ticket to LL emediatly and closing my magic boxes. I will not put anything there untill I am asured by Linden Lab that every single purchase is correctly reported to me as merchant.
  22. There is no confusion. The Magic Box delivered, the house stands on her parcel. She got it but me or my building partner in this case have not got payment... ... but... As I loged back on here just minutes ago, infront of my eyes, "Delivery Partially Failed" messages start to pop in. The earliest order with same message that I know about is from 7th of september for 800L I never received. These poped up in my order history just minutes ago This makes me worried about how much is REALLY missing? Added: Order sumary tells me that "Delivery Faild" and "Not paid" but customer DID get the item. I'm looking at it now.
  23. Yep. Thats what I am about to do but customer has not been on line since yesturday. Sent her a request for her account statement that I will enclose.
  24. Any one missing payments from purchases on SLM? I do and there is no statement any where there is delays or problems with payments. This is causing issues for me. Yesturday a customer contacted me for custom changes to one item listed on me that she ha purchased. I'm not the only creator. Item is listed on me but we split the income. I do not want my business partner to think I am fibbing with the distribution on this item. I have messages stateing the items have been sent from my MagicBoxes but I have still not received any payment and there is no notifications what so ever on SLM of this sale. I can't get hold of customer for a copy of her account statement but when I do i'll send this to LL.
