    Fee increase for cash outs, makes sense. The full region decrease won't save or sell many regions.

    But the big fly in the ointment of this is Second Life is a community, a world.

    Two decisions (this reduction in group slots for basic and the maybe dropping off line group notices going to email ) CUT RESIDENTS OFF FROM EACH OTHER AND MERCHANTS.

    If we can't connect, why bother logging in.

    Using group slots in a strong arm move to collect money is really a shot at the very heart of the --correction - YOUR business.

    When people leave  Second Life your firm knows better than anyone how hard it is to replace them. Cutting people off from their connections is dumb, IMO.

    (What is the churn on groups- why not make a non land/ avatar location based Groups  v2 . so that over time the legacy bandwidth hog groups will die off, even offer a way to have groups transfer to v2)

     

     

     

    Indeed. It is about community and groups are the most used social communication system on the grid. 

    When LL released the first batch of the new LL homes, they were cooing and insistent about a 'real sense of community', thus banning ban lines as one way to go towards that sense of community. 'We want to really make a community with these new LL homes.' 'There should be more community in SL as it has been lacking in years.' So, LL is all gun-ho about it all being about community. 

    However, they can just chop basic accounts group slots by 7 and then boost the premium memberships group slots go up by ten. 

    Groups are important to a wide majority of the grid. All sorts of different groups: fashion groups, building groups, family groups, friends groups, land groups - groups is the basis of the social communication network on the grid. (I am simply meaning within SL itself, not outside of SL not the point I'm trying to make here). 

    Yet, just a few months after the release of the first batch of new LL homes that was intended for the spirit of community - here you are LL, slashing the biggest social community that we have in SL - Groups!

    I've been in SL for 13 years. I've been a premium member for a long time now. It is not fair to slash the group slots of basic account holders. I don't need 80 group slots! 60 is enough for me! I don't need 80 offlines waiting to spam me when I log in either. It is not fair how LL has done these changes to groups - it's not fair and it's not very 'community spirit' of LL either. 
    So for $99 a year, so far, like what I can actually -see- that has changed for that price is this: more group slots (10) and more offlines.  Currently can't get a LL new home because they aren't in stock and when they are in stock they go faster than the 2015 Horizons land grab. I am really struggling to see what the actual incentive is here. 

    Oh, perhaps it's more of the 'promises' - '...coming later in the year.. change of names!'  - that was in 2018 - and it hasn't come yet. 
    '...coming later in the year, we'll fix this! That will be improved! All these wonderful changes... later in the year.
    To me all that is is us paying our new money for old stuff that should have already been given to us based on promises. 

    Shame on you LL - seriously, slashing basic account holders group slots is by far the crappiest thing  you have ever done - it's unfair, not community minded and actually, a bit bullish. Why punish them? Their lindens are as good as any premium members! 

    /end of rant/ (This started out to be a simple agreement reply to @Cam Mode  but the more I thought about things, the more I directed my words at LL - didn't mean to derail!)

    To LL we are disposable - it's not about keeping the ones already in-world happy, it's about getting new people into SL = disposable. 

    We are paying more for stuff that has been promised to us years ago, yet never received it. We are just paying new money now for old stuff. 

    I'm no impressed.

    It's totally unfair to chop the basic account holders groups by seven. I'd be more than happy to split my group slots with them and I'm sure other premium members would too, or so I would hope, cause seriously it's just unfair. 

     

     

    What else would you guys like to see added to the new Linden Home Continent?

    UPDATE: I've now also placed a "REZ ZONE" in the water so you will be able to spot it instantly. Because I am old-school SL and about the community. And to keep the place clean and neat, there is a 5-Minute auto return, but that should be plenty of time to rez your boats, even if you have glitchies. :)

     

    Oldies unite! Yes, bringing back the community spirit! Thank you for posting your update - SL was afterall based on community and with these new Linden Homes, the no ban lines I really feel that LL is trying to reproduce the good ole days!

    Wow, to be able to walk and drive without any ban lines or fear of them - truly a realistic freedom of exploration!

    Roadside Protected 4608sqm, Circuit La Corse, Corsica Plus 1024sqm all For Sale!

    The pictures below show the land that I am selling. One huge 4608sqm parcel and an additional 1024sqm plot, located just down the road from the 4608sqm parcel. As you can see the 4608sqm parcel has Trendrone Road, a Linden Road going down the middle of it, meaning that you can have the front side protected, as you would own either sides of the land next to the road.

    I terraformed it flat, when I rezzed my home, nature park and pub out. The terrain is grass. I did leave up some natural terraformed boarders. If you want the landscaping on the right side, I can give this to you after the sale, as those are items I created. The things on the left side are not for sale.

    I spent almost a year here and enjoyed it very much and it served my purposes during that time. Although now, I want a smaller place.

    The following is an example of how I set this land up in order to have a monthly tier of only 20 USD. With the 10% land bonus the amount of land I own is: 5632m total prims in total is: 1933

    I am a premium member and have an alt with premium membership, created a land group with me and my  alt in it. Had my alt donate it's 1024sqm of free tier to the land group. Then had my alt pay an extra 1024sqm for 7 bucks a month and donated that to the land group.

    Under my main, my tier was 2048 plus my free 1024m which makes it 3072sqm, donated all of that to the land group. 2048sqm of tier is only 13.00USD a month. Total monthly tier costs: 20.00 USD.

    **Please note: The land that I am selling includes the 1024sqm which is pictured at the bottom. If you only buy the 4608sqm then the above tier will not apply.

    If you want to purchase the 4608sqm and the 1024sqm at the same time, I will be happy to offer a direct sale to you. Sale must be completed within one week of setting direct sale.

    Price for both parcels bought together: L$30,000 (I'll give you the discount refund after completion of sale).

    Sell to anyone price is: L$30,000 for the 4608sqm and Sell to anyone price for the 1024sqm is: L$6500

    So, if you buy both in a direct sale from me, you'll be saving: L$6,500

    There is a lot of abandoned land behind the 4608sqm parcel, which gives you a clear view of the Linden Ocean and beach.

    I am not a land flipper. I am just a oldbie that wants to move to a smaller place. This location in Corsica has wonderful surrounding hills and is a quiet street and have no trouble. But, as I have said before, I just want something smaller.

    Well, I guess I'll just get ready for bed, it's late for me anyway. I suppose I'll just have to pretend and finish out my RP in my head to ease my OCD over it. 

    Now, if I was building, this actually wouldn't bother me; however because I was actively RP'ing (and no nothing sexual) it's really annoyed me!!!
