  1. I can't remember as to the reason why last names were replaced with Resident names.
  2. It's 5:36am for me and I'm still awake. I have a head cold though it seems to making a home in my right eye. I'm thinking eventually my sore raw nose will fly off from all of the projectile sneezing. It would save me greatly from having to deal with a nasal waterfall every time I bend over to pick something up. Though I did give up on that, figured I can bend over when I'm better, but the cats did not agree so of course, I fed them. One was grateful enough to save me half of my body space on my queen size bed and to remind me how much he loves me by snoring loudly...for a cat. I swear, I think he has sleep apena. Anyway, I'm working on a build and making textures took a break to read the forums, saw this and inserted the above. They don't make kleenex tissues like they use too.
  3. I've been fortunate to have met in pixel Rider Linden. After reading the above quote and being so close to his rather mysteriously sexy adorned avatar, I can def read that in six ways from Sunday and all are good.
  4. Argh - that's a lot! I'm happy with my name, but wanted to change my land alt's name who is premium, though I think $40USD is a bit much to do so. I'd rather spend that money on either buying lindens or buying a RL pair of shoes. lol
  5. In regards to the last names - someone told me that it's only for premium members and a charge of $50USD .... did I miss something? Is that true or gonna be true? Anyone know as of yet?
  6. ...later this year... but again the question is which year?! lol I'd say that soon is more close to the standard '...later this year...' So, I'm just gonna accept things as they are and just continue to live my SL 😆
  7. Yes, that is true, clubs and such have been paying already especially regarding to land tier. It's their choice to do so. It's just another add-on to what they already pay in order to get people into their clubs. All the equipment, objects, building supplies, tier, hiring people to host/dance/DJ - all is part of the costs of running a business. And simply put, paying to have that business advertise should be a factor according to their advertising budget. For non premium, it's just 50L to post an event, which is nothing compared to the spammy gesturbating hosts and every 30min advertising shouts out. Costs to hire people than it does to post an event listing, is what I'm meaning here. But as you said it's 'nothing compared to the tier...' paid, that was the overlay of the point I was making.
  8. I count on your calucations! You are the best linden calculator on the forum, in my opinion! If I need to balance something or figure out which way is best to save lindens via premium membership, land tier or what have you, I always look for your name on the relevant threads first. I'm premium but if I ever needed to post an event, now I know that it's worth having the premium just to pay for event listings at only 10L Thank you!!! lol Mainland is for All!
  9. Personally, I think it's about time that event listings had a charge, because in order for the ones that use it should pay to advertise, just like content creators do. Content creators pay every time they turn around. DJs, clubs and other type events should as well. In order to 'make money' one does have to invest some money up front and listing an event is simply an investment that has been abused for far too long. And the price for non premium members I think is a fair amount: 50L for an event listing each is no different then paying a pull per gacha and no one complains about gacha costs do they? (I know I misspelled gacha, it's early, actually I'm not sure if I misspelled it or not) Listing an event at whatever price point is an unknown result, the same with pulling a gacha. You never know what you are gonna get.
  10. I'll be 14 on Feb 10, 2019. Rezz date was Feb 10, 2006. I was so proud of myself when I took that picture all them years ago. Looking at it now, my avatar has come a long way and so has SL! I'm still partial to wings though still i still have those!! Whoooo! The second picture was during my days of fighting with my trusty Katana. I was about to teach the little lion how to spar. Fun times, fun times!
  11. I had to look up the word 'weeb'. I didn't know what it meant. But now I do. Thanks for the learning!
  12. I'm introverted and normally don't speak unless I'm spoken too; however, if someone IMs me to tell me I haven't rezzed for them that usually inspires me to strike up a conversation with them. If someone IMs me and tells me they like what I'm wearing I'll gladly tell them where I got it and for how much. Whenever I see a artistically well done avatar I'll IM them and give them a compliment with the add-on of my intention is not to flirt with them. That usually starts a conversation of 'Why not? You can flirt with me. I don't mind.' Which then I find myself at a loss for words because it truly wasn't the intention of the conversation I wanted to have. Over the last years, I've found that starting a conversation about Bloodlines is often a way to get into a conversation and if that person doesn't like Bloodlines either, then it too inspires me to continue to speak with them to find out what they do like. Talking with oldies is a lot easier than newer residents, because oldies we can talk about the old days and complain about stuff. With the newer residents, it's often difficult because they just do not know a lot about stuff and often you end up being their mentor... which is fine... until they drop you the second they become 'cool'. I suppose, I'll speak with anyone but if it's down to me starting a conversation, the outlook isn't positive.
  13. Don't worry, cause '...later in the year..' we'll have the option to change last names from resident to something else.... either this year... or next year... but this was like three years ago now! (Sorry, I couldn't resist - whenever I hear 'name change' the '...later in the year' always comes to mind - lol Anyway, to answer the question about what this woman (In SL and RL) really thinks of men. I'm gonna guess it's SL men in this instance. When I get an IM from a male avatar - 'Hi'. I'll look at the profile and respond with a 'Hi' back. Usually this is just a hi and run. If I get an IM from a male avatar that says, 'Hello! You are beautiful!' And to see that they are on the other side of the sim or not even in the same sim at all, I do not respond. If I get an IM from a male avatar that says, 'It's taken me quite a while to read your profile. I'm impressed with the amount of info you've put in there.' Then I'll respond with the polite words of 'thank you for taking the time to read it.' Then I'll read theirs, but usually this is shortened by the next IM from the person, 'You also seem to be full of yourself.' Which I just block them. If I get an IM from a male avatar with just an emoted smile, I either tp out or just ignore them. In my experience it's really important how the first IM is delivered. I've learned over my almost 14 years that either a 'Hi' or an emoted smile usually means they want to get the sexy. If they comment on your profile too much then more than likely they'll just want to bring down an intelligent woman or 'troll' them, I think it's what the kids call it nowadays. So to end, what I really think of SL male avatars: Take them with a grain of salt unless they can show effort.

  15. Us Eldergoths have been living in the shadows ever since the Mars Empire ruined our lifestyle. It's been so long since I've seen another pale white skin that I often have to look in the mirror to tell myself 'Hello'. Needless to say, it doesn't feel me with joy like it would seeing more like me around. This is just a fly-by post. I am struck with too much nostalgia to compose a full post, so I will leave it as is. ...I miss it. I miss it all... alas... alas... Kind Regards

  19. I just wanted to add that unfortunately our Mainland Halloween Tour is for people who rent or own Mainland where they live. Mainland shops are not allowed. There are so many shopping events, in-world groups, facebook, twitter, instagram and other types of social advertising that shop owners can utilize to promote their stores; however for the regular Mainlander we aren't selling anything; we just want to be proud of our Mainland and network with each other to grow a inspiring community. I may get flack for not allowing shop owners and I'm okay with that. I own Mainland where I live and rent three parcels for our LRC hubs across the grid. I also have a shop on Mainland, but I have never used the LRC as a means to promote my shop. So, as I do not do it myself, it wouldn't be fair to let other people with Mainland shops do it. The following is what the Linden Road Community is about including our core values: We are a group of mainland landowners that want to make mainland better together by using the resources already provided, such as the SLRR and Linden Road system, Airways and Seaways! Goals of the LRC When Second Life was first conceived it was labeled as a 'social experiment.' There was a deep sense of community in the early days. People helped each other and the overall level of altruistic intentions were high. Over the years Second Life has changed to reflect new technology that has been introduced to the grid; from legacy prims to the introduction of flexi to sculpty maps and now to mesh. The mainland should reflect these changes whilst keeping some aspects of mainland preserved. Every mainland owner has their own style and own way of expressing that unique style. Our goal is to incorporate that individuality into the mainland whilst keeping a collaborated effort to regain a sense of togetherness and shared loved for the mainland. We believe that the mainland in some respects should be preserved, but there is also room for other aspects to be incorporated into a progressive display of how far the mainland has come since the early days. The LRC Core Values: The following core values are a set of desired principles or qualities that is essential to the nature of our community: Creativity Cooperation Exploration Respect for each other and the Mainland Unity Following the Good Neighbor Commandments The LRC is about people and the Mainland where they live and are proud to share it with the rest of us. The LRC isn't about virtual commercialism; We are simply people that are trying to inject a sense of community and togetherness on our Mainland. Kind Regards, Asadora

Don't fret if you do not live by a road or waterway, you can still be on the tour! This is a free event made possible from LRC community. The more Mainlanders that participate the bigger the tour. So, it's up to you to make this happen! Requirements to be a Tour Host for the tour: 1. Own or rent land on Mainland - meaning not on a private region sim 2. Register using the form below and send it to Asadora Summers 3. All Tour Hosts will receive a special edition LRC Halloween swag bag. 21. Remember, that where people spend money or not, is their choice. No one forces anyone to buy or maintain ownership or rentalship of anything. It is a choice. And when a person makes that choice, they would be a fool not to realise the consequences of such.
