  1. Well, since I got the new fast computer early this month, I made 2 videos that is in HD. One is me driving a lightcycle at the Tron Sim in Vixels Isle region at 2455m up (no music, sound only) and another one is me racing down the oval track in the 2011 Zapax custom mod sports hatchback at night in Springfield region at ~2500m up (music only, used royality-free music from incompetech.com). I produced it at 1080p HD 16:9 widescreen at 8Mpbs WMV using Windows Movie Maker. My graphics settings are medium with draw distance at 256-512m, and the viewer I use is the latest official Second Life Viewer 2.6.3, and not Firestorm, Phoenix, Imprudence, Kristens, nor any other graphical viewer. Here are the videos (Best viewed in HD and fullscreen)
  2. If you have the volume at 1.0, then it's at the highest it'll go. If not, then set the volume at 1.0. You may also consider increasing the volume on the sound file. Download Audacity (it's free and open-source), install it, open up Audacity, import the sound file, then set the volume slider for the sound track slightly to the right. Save the file as WAV. Upload to Second Life then play it in-world. The sound should be louder.
  3. My favourite places in Second Life are the Tron: Legacy Adventures place in Vixens Isle (in which I ride in my light cycle, and willing to get a light jet and throw light discs for fun), my home in Tanglewood (so I can build my stuff without getting distracted and relax), and the City of Concord roleplay sim.
  4. //MESSAGE FROM RYAN ELITE (elite.runner) FROM THE ELITE 3000 SECOND LIFE UNIT DATE: 2011.04.17-sU TIME: 07:46pmSLT (10:46pmE3K-DT) SUBJECT: Places to socialize //BEGIN MESSAGE Well, in Second Life, I usually go on the forum. In-world, I go to one of my most favourite places, like Tron: Legacy Adventures in Vixens Isle in which I ride in my lightcycle on the Tron Grid in SL, some raceway tracks when I drive my 2011 Zapax. I also visit places to shop and I go to sandboxes to build. I always keep an eye out for griefings and plan to evacuate the area. I like to chat with people, even with voice. Outside of Second Life, I go on IMVU, Zwinky, GaiaOnline, Meez, WeeWorld, Habbo, Twitter and Facebook, and sometimes Myspace. //END MESSAGE
  5. I have a Youtube channel, in which it covers a variety of topics in different virtural worlds, including Second Life. The most recent Second Life video is ELITE 3000 Video Special 2011.2: New Elite Metric Year celebrations in Second Life: The Countdown, filmed mainly in Second Life, with clips from other virtural worlds, with voice shown below. Clips include Jamacian Islands roleplay, Tron: Legacy adventures in SL and racing on an oval track. (NOTE: The video is over 44 minutes long) Check out my Youtube channel here
  6. Well, I use Sony Vegas and Camtasia Studio to produce video and Camtasia recorder for recording. I usually record videos and save as .camrec in Camtasia recorder, and never as AVI. I then import the .camrec video file as is, I render it as MP4 then I process it to Sony Vegas in which I add effects and do some editing and add texts, and intros and closers then I render the final product as MP4 or WMV then upload it to Youtube. Normally I render it as 640x480 or 480x360 4:3 25fps or 856x480 or 640x360 widescreen 16:9 25fps. Sometimes I render it as HD 720p or HD 1080p
  7. My dream computer would be an Intel i7 processor, 1 GB HD video card with HD 1080p support, 8-16 GB of RAM, 1TB HDD, 2x512 GB SSD, Surround sound, 750W power supply, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and Gigabit ethernet router Programs will include: Sony Vegas Pro 10, Camtasia Studio, and Adobe Aftereffects/Flash/Premiere Pro CS5. Of course it won't be complete with Norton 360 and Second Life Viewer 2 with graphics on ultra and draw distance up to 512m for racing, HD 1080p machimia and taking large high-resolution photos. Other programs will include garry's mod, IMVU and Minecraft.
  8. I placed donation boxes at my stores in Second Life and I'm selling a sign with a Japanese flag and text saying to pray for victims of the Japan tsunami/quake in English and Japanese. (I used Google Translate for the translation) for L$500 at the in-world stores at Little Blue Island and at City of Concord sims AND at the Second Life marketplace. We have a couple sales in the first hour since the launch so far, and willing to have many more before the weekend is over.
  9. I'm searching the Future Shop website (Canadian electronics store, http://www.futureshop.ca) and I'm looking at Computer accessories > Gaming gear under Gaming pads and joysticks and noticed that the gaming pads sell between $19.99 - $77.99 CAD before taxes, and the joysticks, the cheapest avaliable is $32.99 CAD and the expensive one $500 CAD. I'm hoping it works for Second Life. I may try Zellers, Staples, Best Buy and Walmart for similar ones. I don't have to go to USA to go to Target, etc to shop, but Ima shop for gaming controls and/or joysticks for my computer to play Second Life (and maybe Garry's Mod when I play that game later on in 2011.) and maybe the Foot Switch as Torley Mentioned (I dunno if they have International shipping since I live in Canada thus the Canadian dollar is barely above parity (C$1.0000 CAD = US$1.0047 USD as of post))
  10. Once I tried viewer 2.x from the start, I got addicted to Viewer 2.x. I would never go back to viewer 1.x. Even with shared media, sidebar, and more recently, display names (Though Phoenix viewer took advantage of display names), and now multiple attachments, I never switch back to viewer 1.x because I'M ADDICTED TO VIEWER 2.x! As for multiple attachments, it's kinda cool, as I monitor the speed, the region stats, and let me notify on updates to the Second Life grid status via http://status.secondlifegrid.net, and let me know about who's nearby, and tells me the region name when I cross region borders or when I teleport to another region or when I am close to the region border, so I can be cautious.
  11. I'll be reporting on Second Life Winterfest 2010 CE/EY 1010 EE on ELITE 3000 Today, a multi-virtual world news show in which it includes reports from Second Life. It can be found on the ELITE 3000 Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/rynprov and I will be interviewing SL Residients on Winterfest 2010 once the event is underway.
