I just realized we've been talking about the same set:

Originally 3.78138m tall (insanely tall). I shrunk it to 2.03053. All linked like this was 4 land impact, not 2-3. In their default size they are 2 land impact each, 8 when linked.

It hit 4 land impact total at a height of 2.82774.

With just 2 of the pieces it fit into my houseboat nicely:

I like that the books look 'real' if not modern style bindings - and don't have silly or 'unfinished' titles. A few sets I have bought from MAJOR brands have had titles like "place book texture here" - they used a full perms book... but then make it no-mod or don't give me the texture or UV map so I can't fix it. None of that here...

I also liked the Alouette bookcase for a very similar style:

4 Land Impact, when I shrunk it to 1.99811m tall here, it hit 3 LI.

    What Next bookshelf is 3LI

    Schadenfreude one is 1 LI

The round one is from Abiss Design and 2 LI, the other one is from 'World of Wood' and 11 Land Impact (extremely NOT lowprim):

The rather well known Arizona set from Bazar is 3 land impact:

Bazar's Toronto set is 3 land impact each at fullsize:

    - Do note that BAZAR items often have fullbright set on. As these do... so make sure to turn that off. Also PLEASE put an actual picture into the frames if you buy furniture that has a picture frame that says "place photo here"... Almost every copy I see of this inworld lacks photos in the frames and it drives me nuts everytime I see it...

This fantasy set from PPK (PuertoKar Resident) is only 1 Land Impact. Textures are a little less detailed than the others, but good to rez if you happen to live near Sylvia ( ;)) :

The LAQ Decore set is 3 land impact for the middle piece, and 2 land impact for each side pice. 7 total (does NOT go down if you shrink it). If you get this set PLEASE put a picture in the picture frame...

I have more than this... but can't seem to find them right now...

I also buy book stacks and arrange them:

    9d443f7f813fa3839bb843ce421790ac.jpg

that's 4 stacks from Apple Fall, and one from / frag.ments' /  - set on a counter from Apple Fall that I shrunk by about 50% because it was silly big for no reason, and cut it's land impact almost in half if I recall right.

    Thanks for all the ideas!

  2. I'm seeing some great interior lighting in the houses you've all done, but the lamps I've found so far are like interrogation lights, lighting up my whole house, the neighbor's house, and half of the houses in the region. Any suggestions? I'd like something that would give a softer light inside when I'm set for midnight. Geez, maybe I'm just doing something wrong...

No way of knowing, but does it matter if it’s an abandon or a new release? An awesome spot is an awesome spot...

There are certainly degrees of "awesome-ness". A houseboat jammed between other houseboats may not be as appealing as one at the end of the pier, with a clear view of the water. A traditional lot in the middle of a flat green block doesn't have the appeal of one set on the water.

The Ancestors have guided me for so long so successfully that I offered them a roast chicken to say "Thank you" ...

... they enjoyed it and when leaving me belching they whispered ...

"Next will be Carumba - Friday between 6:30 and 8:30 am SLT"

"... unless ...... keep Permaglow in mind!"

The ancestors are hedging their bets on Permafrost, eh?

    Have they added holiday lights?

It was a thread here some months ago where @Patch Lindenor @Abnor Moleexplained that they would not add more different houses in the Mailbox. Adding some small decor is different. I know they added more textures in the Mailbox a little while ago. I did not look on the objects to see if it was something new among them.

oh ok, thanks -- didn't see that.........boy, that will make for another mad rush of abandons

Yes, you do. Unless an alt owned one of those properties.

^ Exactly this. Because you can only have one premium house per premium membership. So you either abandon the one you have and wait to catch another or you use an alt. You cannot have one and try to catch another one on the same account.

Thanks RaeLee, that's what I thought. And I've been playing the linden lottery, too. I also got caught in the "only 5 catch and release in 24 hours" vortex. I realized this just before Friday's release. I've still got an alt in the game, but weekends are slow.

  7. Hi all....Not really a vent here, just frustration. While wandering around Bellisseria, I see gorgeous lots with great landscaping, next to lakes, rivers, ponds, etc. When I picked up my first home, I was pretty excited, but then realized it was a flat lot, in the middle of a block, in a very average flat region. So, I've been playing the linden lottery, but keep getting the same. I realize that this is about community, but for me, it's also about what I can see from my lot. Do you think we'll ever get some choice, or will it always be just about dumb luck?

As a charter member of the Refresh Club I can't help checking in occasionally to see what comes up. I had a riverside traditional which I let go of recently after lucking into a 32x32 corner plot houseboat in a recent region--an abandon at that! My thought was probably the same as whoever got my last amazing spot: How could anyone give this up?

I see no problem with catch and release.  These homes represent different things to people. A retirement home, a starter home, a place to sail; something permanent or something more ephemeral...all valid.

A question....Don't you need to abandon a lot before picking another? It sounds like you lucked into the houseboat, and then let the traditional go.

  9. Yes, same here. I just logged in to the inventory page, and got the message right away. And it won't take me back to the page, even though I click that line. I didn't attempt 10 refreshes, and will follow the directions, but something is wrong here.
