well either there is a lock for only one person at a time and people wait, people steal rares out from under others, or gachas as we know them go away 🤷‍♀️ I dunno

yes. so you walk up to what looks to be a normal gatcha vendor now and it has a small hovertext that says the key from the gatcha graphic. then when you buy that thing it randomly picks (just like it always has) and then the hovertext changes so that it says the new item's key. it won't help people who have a problem with gatchas, and there will be a problem of people camming to the gatcha and waiting for a rare to popup to "steal" it, but I think it technically would be ok under the new rules.

you should tell your friend about the gatcha that people came up with in this thread where there is a hovertext that says the item that will be sold but the next item will be random... as far as I can tell that will be allowed. but if I were a maker I would check if that is ok

I sometimes change one or two textures to make it something I really love intsead of it being something I like or even don't like. and resizing, when it's not rigged, is soooo much easier with edit then even an xyz stretcher. even changing the size of one linked prim... or the glow or the transparancy. I also sometimes will remove parts of something that I don't like... or even items that can't be made smaller with a resizer I can shrink and readjust further with scripts that I have. I've had to do it with even major hair makers like magika because the hair was too big and the resizer couldn't shrink it more

somebody said earlier that creators will be notified and items won't be returned until after a warning. I'd imagine that somebody who has ways to get messages from LL, like email will know. but who knows?🤷‍♀️

it did have to do with the subject. I asked about the inworld gatcha vendors where the creator is not maintaining the store actively. like zombie stores where the income is good enough to pay for the land and the store is basically a zombie.

if gatchas stay in the form I said where it tells you the item then it'll just make people buy twice. one time to clear the item currently for sale and then the next item. I actually think it would make any gambling problem people have with gachas worse.

people spoke earlier about just saying with hovertext what the item is if you buy it, then making the next item random. it would still show the next item after the first is purchased

I would rather LL be able to argue that they took action before it was a legal issue, and acted broadly. it's either that or that they split hairs over what may be legal in the future then having to explain themselves. think their kid stuff policy here.

I think it's more that other countries may see gatchas as the same as loot boxes in other games, which are problematic. And wouldn't the person making the object be the developer? So, the creator?

how does somebody new to the vendor avoid it?

I know and I've seen them get worse and worse tbh the ultra rares and the hidden rares are amazingly bad

yea I know. I really don't like gatchas and didn't really do them, but the $50L items on the marketplace was cool

There are places that aren't the US. SL would be a very worse place if it was US only.

I haven't read the whole thread but my only question is what happens to gatchas that are inworld and the makers have gone and the store is a zombie? Also, I feel sad that a lot of the stuff that was in gatcha will probably just go away.

Hello, I'm hoping to commission a static mesh, or maybe with moving parts with scripts, for a character of mine. It is a staff, and I can add my own holding animations. I wouldn't be against you adding your own bento ones though. I wouldn't care if it was sold elsewhere, but I would want at least mod&copy rights (rather have full rights though) as well as the finished textures, normals, and specular. I will not be reselling it myself, and you can resell it if you'd like. Price would be negotiated, with half before. Know that I am serious about this though and do not intend on wasting your time and mine being a cheapskate. I have a good idea for what I want and I can give details in an IM inworld once I have an idea of your ability to make mesh. I've been burned before, so I'd rather see your portfolio and what you can do first.
