  1. even if there was one, it would be against what LL has put in place and it would not last long and you would face an account ban, possibly global.  they can not play games with this anymore, the IRS stepped in and quite a few changes have been made.   Some of us suspect since the BitCoiners were using the exchange at high volumes that there was laundering happening and LL got there hands tied and put into cuffs.   so it's not going to happen as nobody is going to take the risk, right now LL is processing everything manually, to help lower the risk of fraud and other malicious things.  sorry but this is how it is for now.

  2. Hello there

    Hardware fee's, setup fee's.  Monthly fee's.

These are what keep SL running and help provide the platform with more inovations,

Bandwidth is typically not cheap and since LL is only moving a certain amount of data they would not have the lower price.

Hardware costs are another issue, that includes upkeep and hands on support at the datacenters LL is in.

Then employee costs at the lab it's self.

All these help keep SL viable and useable, if they stopped charging as much as they do or dropped the prices, espically now when they are working on a new version of this world.  it would tank and tank hard and quickly and nobody wants that.

So for now it seems that they have a good fix on prices,  1000.00 usd for setup fee (private sims) and the 295.00 usd maintance fee, or "tier"

I'm in the industry and build servers and put them in datacenter and handle these things hands on.   so coming from me.  this is not a cheap endevor the lab is running with here.

  3. "forcing out the little guy"

DOOM AND GLOOM!  all I keep seeing, how about this is something LL can no longer let happen?  How about they now have more real laws to deal with?   How about they was audited by the IRS.   quite a few varibles and if it forces certain people out, then we know all we need to know right?

Suffie keep it legal and SL stays, keep it like it is currently.  SL wont exist.  rather they keep it legal.

  4. Amercian based company that already has a limited support staff is not going to be at your beckon call.   They are not at mine and I would never make such demands and if you come and go "you should"  nope. I'm sorry it's a holiday in the states, people have a right to be with their families and if you still want to argue then well you will be **bleep** out of luck getting a reply back from me.

    TARI

This is not directed at you, I clicked the wrong reply

  5. There is nothing wrong.  tested all 13 of my accounts each load, and load fast and fine.  CHANGE your hair base or shape. "I'm a cloud" sometimes the sql links get corrupted you must force them to renew the link.  so change outfits.  change shapes. hair bases. change groups. things like that and make sure your damn bandwidth setting is not over 1400.  but in the clients all of them have it that derp out after 1400 on bandwidth

  6. Sense SL is openGL and always has been, I do not think they will be using "webGL" since the viewer is not a web browser and is not serving content to web users.

WebGL has it's place, but it's not with SL.  that would screw the pooch if they went "screw it, guys, were gona switch to this"  do ya realize how many pissed off high paying people who help us maintain SL's operations would be screaming.  yeah let's just let this go.

  7. "back in the old days"  good lord, we used to have total grid shutdowns back then.  used to hit a peak concurrency and things would grind to a halt,  hell they used to take down the grid on wednesday and update it.  then we'd play hell over the weekends with the new features (bug) they introduced.    No *buzz*  things are not better back then.   They are totally better right here in the present.

  8. They had to postpone it,  something else crept up that knocked half of SL offline, now they have that fixed, they can do the other update they have planned.   These things happen, it is the tech sector after all and SL is no where near being stable enough to make predictions or say it will work right.   nature of the best with this kind of technology and programming.
