  1. I've been away from SecondLife for a while, at least 2 to 3 months (not sure if that matters) and am now running SecondLife on a brand new laptop (MacBook Pro). I first downloaded Viewer 2 directly from SL and thought everything was fine when I started it up, I knew and expected that it was going to take a while for my inventory to load and come back to me which I waited for (all together roughly 20k items) when I opened my friends list however and when I received IMs from friends, their names didn't show up and remained "(loading)". When I opened up my Notices panel to shuffle through the separate IM windows, instead of a name it said "TestLine PleaseIgnore" (or something similar) for each person I was talking to, their own profile picture would still be there where the mini thumbnail would be. I didn't think at the time that it was that big of a deal and I brushed it off because I had only waited maybe 10 or so minutes at this point for all my inventory to be found. A short while later I was asked by a friend if I wanted to go to her place while I waited for the rest of my inventory to load (I had thought that was what the problem was) because I had mentioned I was having issues, she told me she sent me a TP request and I replied hadn't received it, and didn't receive any of the others she sent after. This was when I thought things weren't right, and decided to try to teleport by landmark instead. When I tried to teleport from one of the landmarks in my inventory I didn't have to wait long before it told me I had been disconnected from the region. Frustrated I didn't have the time to deal with it I logged out and didn't think about it till the next day when I logged in again, and had the same problem, my inventory was also loading all over again except this time I could see the names on my friends list - that was a short lived victory because I didn't get the TP's and was disconnected when I tried by landmark. Feeling defeated I returned to what I knew best before making the change to V2 and downloaded Phoenix/Firestorm. When I did, I got the same issues from the first time and I don't know if it has to do with my computer, or my account. If someone could please shed light on the situation I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not the most tech-savvy person but I do know my way around a computer for the most part and I can't think of why this is happening on two different viewers.
  2. Quality is hard to argue with, but I do admit I will look over something that isn't made as well if it is creative. I agree with many posts above me however; jeans, tees, shirts etc, things that I would consider "simple" or staples to any avatar's wardrobe would be quality above creativity.
  3. Shoes that I am inlove with at this moment are my KBoots - boyish but adorable when styled right. For a classier look I love PixelMode, especially the platforms.
  4. As with a lot of other's replys I love the idea of mesh, but not the current exicution of the product. The ability to have dresses move with you and bend with your legs is fantastic, but the fit issue is really my only issue. Coming from a user who was dead set on staying away from the new SL viewer after beta testing the first version and finding myself not enjoying my time at all -- I switched just to explore the new Mesh clothing. I now have both SL3 & Phoenix and my SL experience hasn't changed much between the two viewers as far as the basics of being able to travel around inworld with ease unlike before. SL has changed so much since I signed up, which wasn't too long ago - only a little less than two years, and I'm embracing all changes and hoping for the best. The fact that so many designers are already having their try with the new Mesh abilty blows my mind and I tip my hat to them all.
  5. I will have to work this out somehow, I don't seem to be getting a "Browse" option, but I was wondering if it was becase I hadn't ever posted anything on the forums before. I was trying to set up a feel for it before the fashion discussions coming up next week. Thank you for the helpful tips! I got half way there at least, I'll keep fiddling.
