  1. apparently you dont realise but thats what the release candidate sims are for?..You cant have a totally seperate grid which is only limited by the people who bother to log into it.... where as this way they get a wider range of testing on many many scripts, prims and all around objects

  2. i think your exagerating abit too much.... theres a rolling restart once a week (there wasnt one this week so kinda invalids your mini rant here), most of the time they arnt visual niceties but under the hood fixes.. you know that make things work better... and if your complaining about LL being slow with these thing, they have to do alot of testing just so they can give you a decent amount of fps.. and NO you cant compare sl to other places simply because all their stuff is pre rendered on the disk where as SL is real time updates... big difference

  3. you'll get "jaggies" no matter what card you use, its been with shadows since the very begining.Theres no way to stop them unless you turn on anti-aliase via the hardware button..if you want a graphics card with over 10 fps with all those turned on you'd need a top of the range card theres no doubt.... the wiki states when they were still unsupported cards above 8800(Nvidia) and 4800 series(AMD)..

Also so you dont get bottlenecked a quad core CPU would do a high end card good

My guess is if your card doesnt sit in the ultra (on the slider in graphics) you wont get any good FPS (high setting, you could push it but i doubt you'd get any fps above 18)

and just to make sure.. your fps will be affected by draw distance too so just check at 64 or something so it doesnt have to draw alot of stuff and add shadows to it

  4. THe ATI RAdeon 9600 is a graphics card that was released in 2003, SL was still in closed beta at that time... Im sure those people told you about the Nvidia 9600 which is 2008-2009 i believe, double check to see if thats what card you have and not the ATI 9600

    if you check here: https://secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/index.php?lang=en-US

You'll see that your card will meet the minimum requirments, but you will more then likely not get and fancy graphics and a reliable amount of FPS (frames per second) which will make your experience very choppy and pretty slow to use

  5. sounds more like a cpu spike more then anything, is your cpu getting enough cool air too it? try cleaning out your fans... is there enough power getting to your machine? i reccomend a 750 watt PSU to be safe.... but the culprit definitely would be a cpu issue since your clocks are dropping from 3.4GHz too under 1GHz

  6. seeing as how they have mesh prep rolling out on bluesteel rc sims, they are likely getting closer to a release i would take a guess at maybe a month or two before they make a mesh beta for main grid

  7. i just have one question, if you already have it working on your windows pc, why would you want it to work on a linux one aswell?... plus have you tried contact the Lindens via ticket so they can guide you through the proper way of setting it up, as most people on here would probably not have encountered such a problem....

  8. thanks for you kind words Calveen, but you did not need to add anything about said land being empty

and as for the info of the 700meters up that is what i thought.... i have just tested this with my partner and she was unable to get on the land at 700 meters up... it kept TPing her outside of the parcel at that height

FYI for those who think all people are stereotyped.... Land on ground is used for private home usage and the sky is holding the store
