  1. She is running a 64 Bit OS a 32 bit program can access upto 4 Gigs of ram if it needs it, not using the HTTP line may work better as it shouldn't be as congested as the HTTP.

Since she is  running on wireless she will not get the full affects of her bandwidth on 130 Mbps passthrough (= close to about 30 - 40 Mbps tops), I would really suggest that she try and get a wired connection or closer to the router as possible for best connectivity.

I can suggest that maybe you could try cleaning out your graphics fan if that is possible (if desktop) a cooling pad( if laptop), your probably sound like that your card is overheating causing graphical glitches.

Also it would be good to know when it first started and if you have installed anything before it started.

  2. 1. you cant edit rigged mesh

    2. try setting your grapics to viewer default and see what happens.

    3. please copy paste info from "help > about secondlife" when trouble shooting.

    4.  if your cpu and/or graphics card is O.C'ed try turning them to stock settings.

    5. check that all your drivers are uptodate.

    6. try and reduce the size of your inventory if it big

    7. run a wired connection instead of a wireless one (only if applicable)

    8. try a different viewr

  3. if you have a modem and a router try disconnecting from the router and plug directly into the modem, or if you have a wireless modem in your home try resetting it to factory defaults and see if that helps

  4. The 460 is now two generations old, it wont give you that much of a performance boost, i suggest you keep sl on its predetermind settings for your card (guessing high) and lower your draw distance and play around with your setting to achieve what ever fps you are trying to get(i've noticed that what ever you get on your predeterminid settings is what you'll get no matter which setting you use below it.... atleast for me with my AMD card) .... I also doubt that the control panel would help in any way with opengl based graphics... and you musnt forget that SL is more intensive then other games since textures are pretty high....

P.S. Peggy. the ping will more likely be cause by the fact that she took the pic straight after switching to ultra there for throttling her ping while it loads the textures.

  5. Using the latest release viewer my wife and I have noticed that when editing prims or even just clicking on different prims when building, that our FPS slowly drops while sim ping climbs to higher amount. editing any amount of prims (e.g. say 50) sim ping climbs to above 3k msec and fps drops to below 10.

Has any one that is using the latest viewer experienced any of these?

  6. If possible can you start up the viewer and change your graphics setting before logging into sl, if it indeed does crash when you go to log in then it will more then likely be a graphic issue,  check your card is in need of an update from the respected vendors.

P.S. Post your hardware details when it comes down to issues like these.

  7. I would suggest the CPU (processor) be atleast a quad core and that graphics card be higher on the scales (460 - 590 for nvidia skipping anything below the *50 range as they are low end cards.) if you want AMD cards I suggest anything above  the 6570. As for the amount of ram 4GBs should be enough with of course the 64 operating system.

  8. Those systems are low end and you will not get the experience you think they will give you, I suggest you see how far getting a custom system will get you for the price you were thinking of paying for a brand name PC.

You could use this system to build your own PC upto your own budget... Just make sure you Google anything that you don't know.
