is Mouse World still open? :matte-motes-inlove:

nope, but Magicland has expanded some, plus there's Wedcot,  Downtown-D and Magical Moments (which actually has a couple of the original Mouse  World rides)

Ah, yes....I remember all that hoopla involving Mouse World.  Wonder if he got shutdown or voluntarily closed, anyone know?

  2. Hi all....I've searched the knowledge base and couldn't zero in on my question, not using the right keywords, I guess :(

I'm not anywhere near tech-savvy, especially when it comes to lithium.  Is there a way that I can access a list of all the threads I posted to, to follow others answers,  without having to go through my profile?  What exactly does subscribing to a thread mean?

ETA:  Thanks, Storm, I didn't know about the symbols...that will make it much easier to pick out, but I still have to go through the lists of threads to find them, correct?  I was trying to find a way to avoid that, what with all the different categories and stuff.  In re to the subscriptions, notification is to email?

  3. Hi Tenshi, variety is the spice of life, as they say :)  I would get bored (and I do in the Land section ads) seeing the same type ad, model, etc...Something different would jump out at me more (check out Tink Carver's ads in Land...he phrases something different everytime and it catches my eye each time.)

Of course, just my opinion and personal preference...good luck to you :)

Being practically a native Floridian, I don't have much
    actual
experience with autumn except for four years that I spent on a picturesque New England college campus. But my whole life, I've had this crazy sort of romanticized view of autumn with foliage, apple orchards, cider, cinnamon, hot chocolate, warm colors, cozy sweaters, friends gathered 'round the fireplace, and crisp tempartures that turn your cheeks rosy.

Maybe it's because I have a fall birthday, but the
    idea
of fall has always appealed to me, and it's always felt like the season that most "fit" my personality. Autumn feels like a time for reflection, perhaps because of shortening days, and trees shedding their leaves, and people beginning to spend more time indoors as the temperature drops; more of a family time, and a time for deeper conversations with friends and loved ones. The thought of fall, or at least the idealized version of fall that exists in my head, always makes me feel invigorated and introspective at the same time.

Quinn...that was the main factor in my having moved from Florida back home.  I missed the change of seasons :(  Well, that and the bugs of course...:matte-motes-agape:

Dana, is this also true when you purchase a shape that is marketed as petite/short...the proportions are still off?

That can only be answered on a case by case basis.

The problem is, most shapes you see in SL, from those provided by Linden Lab, to most of those sold by other residents, are made by people without a strong grasp of proportion or a good understanding of the appearance editor, so regardless of size they're often badly proportioned.

It's impossible to tell whether a shape is properly proportioned unless the creator provides demos for you to try before purchasing or the vendor art they display is made to show off how well proportioned the shape is.

Thanks, Penny, that makes sense.  Since I'm not a content creator and don't know the ins & outs of that kind of thing, wasn't sure if they work with the same type of tools/sliders that we do, but yes, knowledge would be a key thing. :)

    To many questions?

You sound like a therapist, exept they usually don't ask many ....they ask you what you want to do about it...patient heal thyself!

lol, nah...just trying to get a conversation going.  After all, it is hump day, we need something to see us through the end of the week :matte-motes-tongue:

  7. I could just kick myself!!!  After almost 4 years of not smoking, I went and picked up a pack last week and haven't stopped since :matte-motes-crying:  When I quit back then, the tide was starting to turn, now with even more enforced laws, I feel like a total outcast as a smoker.

Please, I didn't post this to receive sermons on the virtues of being a non-smoker...I'm getting enough of that from my girls in real.  I know what I have to do.

But, what about anyone else...any regrets in other things?

Hey there my fellow SL mates.  I'm a 29 year old male that is looking to meet some new people, either male or female.  I love to talk but I also love to listen.  If you want a friend that will literally sit with you and just talk for hours, I'm your person.  Feel free to IM me, and I promise to respond.  I am online quite a bit, so you won't have to wait long.

Does tnafreak translate to tit n ass freak?

    Lol, Ima....bingo!

The taller you are the more impossible it becomes to have proper proportions.

It would help if you include the
    whole
truth, not just part of it. The farther away your AV is from starting default height in
    ANY
direction, the more impossible it becomes to have proper proportions. The morph points for slider adjustments do not allow very tall AVs enough adjustment room on specific areas like hand and head size, as well as hip and arm length.. and so one can throw off proper proportion by electing to be too tall. The morph points also do not allow very short AVs any sense of proper proportion
    either
, and that is due to the fact that the forearm, lower leg, and hip flex areas need to maintain a minimal thickness to be able to fold properly during animation.. and the height slider allows AV's to be shorter than that minimal thickness dictates. That results in midget or troll arms/lower legs, as well as hips with the thighs pushed too far up into them.

It only need be said that the height slider is not a full scale "grow or shrink" adjustment, so it's best not to think of it as one. It can only excessively lengthen or compact the neck, torso, leg, and arm lengths, and nothing else, and there is such a thing as too much in either direction for the mesh to handle properly.

Dana, is this also true when you purchase a shape that is marketed as petite/short...the proportions are still off?

I love fall, but it's hard to even remember what the fall is like when it's 107.  I remember there is some other feeling besides "oven blast" but can't recall what it was like.

Looking forward to the cold snap we will get on Thurs when it will only be 98. Wheeeee!

The weather broke here the last few days, low 70's...blissful, but today forcasted to be 90 and for the two days after that, 95 :(

Yea, the local orchard I mentioned earlier, also has donuts with pumpkin frosting...delish!!

I'm totally with you on the sweater & cuddling :matte-motes-wink:
