Some have asked and since Ceera thoughtfully brought the crowded Appearance Editor up: I felt the same way and had a hard time practicing how to use it — or even WHY I'd use some of the new layout.
I often do runthroughs of features before they're publicly released so I'm firsthand informed on how to teach Residents, where workarounds are helpful, and where it's too hard to explain things — which is often a substantial signifier that something's not usable. So, rest assured I've given my feedback to our Viewer 2 gurus along the same lines, and will continue to do so as I read Resident feedback.

Yeah, the "open a second Inventory window" is a kludge until we have a better way. More background and videos:

^ Thanks Irene, that's one of the pages I LOVE seeing promoted. Until such time it becomes super-slick in the interface, people gotta know!
I personally wish you MANY HAPPY UNBOXINGS, SLAM!
OH, and if you're in Viewer 2, start watching this at 2:44. Basically same steps, stuff just moved:

@Becca I'm big on Macs, what Mac do you have? More recent ones have mice with right-click — a multi-button mouse is a huge convenience and a great investment.
I use my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 with both Mac and Windows versions of Second Life, and my wife likes her Magic Mouse on her Mac.

Irene knows where to find the good stuff! Yayzerama!

I just saw this browsing for day trivia. If your answer is better than the KB's, PLEASE do edit the KB and make it better — since it's a Wiki, many pages can be upgraded by Residents. I do many suggested edits but there are many more "eyes on the street" out there, as it were. Plus, your contributions can be widely viewed, and may benefit many others... and are likely to be referenced when the same question comes up again on SL Answers... which is awesome!

I shall confirm objects created by banned/canceled accounts do NOT disappear under general circumstances, barring the usual stuff like stray objects being returned from land they're littering. However, troublemaking griefing and intellectual property-violating objects are subject to manual deletion by Linden Lab.

Try running Second Life in Windowed mode (found in Preferences' Graphics tab) and try shrinking/stretching the window to see if that reveals the Camera Controls.
Also, deleting settings.xml (on Windows, find it easily with Everything) will reset positions of all tools, including Camera Controls — but backup your settings first!

For additional context in the Viewer, I'd suggest clicking the Search button, then clicking the Showcase tab, then checking out the "Winter Wonderland" category to see how fellow Residents have done it. Teleport over and feel the solidity of their ice, mwahaha!
You can achieve the appearance of ice by changing the water settings, but it's only local, which means no one else sees the changes you reply. Still, looks lovely in photos.

@Starship RIP Divine! Ah, that John Waters, what a maverick. And I don't mean that in a Sarah Palin way.
No one ever has to give me any points here because I'm an employee of LL and should be excluded. Hats off to our helpful volunteers! RAWK ON *air guitar riff*

What lovely creative help here! TRIVIA: when I started Second Life, one of my prized possessions were the Yip-Yips which Starship is showing off in his avatar. But since yipping through my reply isn't going to be of much help,
In addition to the helpful hints already shared, if you right-click an attachment, your avatar will freeze in that position until you deselect your avatar. The freeze is only local, which means you'll see it on your screen, other people won't. It's how, in conjunction with changing my camera angle, I get pictures like this:

Friendly greetings! A number of times I've seen this, Residents were confusing Age Verification with Adult Verification — THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. Age V. is a SUBSET of Adult V. (We're working on making the names less ambiguous, since heck, it confuses me, too.) I'd need more details to understand your case, but maybe this is of help, in particular the pictures:

Hmmm... THAT'S A VERY GOOD TIP Lane... *makes a note to add it to the Blog FAQ*

This bugs THE HECK out of me.
I checked with web guru Carl Linden — he's fixed a number of other notable style bugs that came from Resident requests — and he's done an internal fix which makes the editor accurately show space between lines. This should be pushed live soon, as part of a wave with other features. So, stay tuned.

Thanks Danridar, see my reply to Ellla — and yes, the bolded part is confusing as it mixes up AGE Verification with ADULT Verification. I'm going to put in a follow-up task for our Creative Services to correct that.

Hey everyone — thanks Ellla, I found this confusing too and earlier asked Kate Linden for help.
AGE Verification and ADULT Verification (more accurately: "ADULT maturity ratings are enabled on your account"), despite sounding similar, are two DIFFERENT things:
- You can be ADULT verified but NOT AGE verified.
- If you AGE verify, you're ALSO ADULT verified. (You get BOTH.)
- AGE verification requires that you submit accepted ID as detailed here.
- But, if you ONLY have payment info on file with us, you're ONLY ADULT verified.
- Being ADULT but NOT AGE verified means you can enter Adult-rated Regions but NOT parcels NOR Regions that SPECIFICALLY have access blocked for "Residents who are not age verified adults".
That Age Verification FAQ also needs to be updated in order to be clearer about types of ID we'll accept, and I'm working with other Lindens on that. We need to get it through the proper channels including legal clearance, but I wanted to share we ARE aware of this puzzlement.

Pretty links are my specialty. When you're making a post here, you should see an editing toolbar. There's an "A" with chains that lets you select text to be made into a hyperlink.
I'm on Firefox 3.5 on Mac. See the attached image, hope this helps!

Hiya Tommy, without substantiated details and a SLurl I couldn't say for sure here: as a general rule, no. Linden land is often marked as "Protected", indicating it won't (or shouldn't) change unless an error was made. If drastic terraforming has detracted from your experience, I'd suggest sending a ticket (type = Land and Region Issues) to the Linden Department of Public Works via http://secondlife.com/support

Related, this is a useful page to keep close: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User_settings
And if you guys didn't already know, in the Finder, you can use Go menu > Go to Folder, then paste in a path instead of having to graphically navigate through each folder.
