  1. I understand but I'm stuck with the system I have right now. Was never going to get the best experience on the laptop I'm using.
  2. Hi, I just wanted to post this for anyone that might be having the same issue I was having with Firestorm. Thanks to Whirly Fizzle from Firestorm for helping me sort my issue I'm running the 32 bit version of Firestorm on Windows 10. From Whirly: This is probably a problem specific to these older Intel cards unfortunately. The benchmarking used to actually crash these Intel HD 2000/2500/3000 drivers. Lets try disabling Benchmarking & see if that fixes the problem. All the benchmark does is do a quick test on your card & decide what graphics level it should be set at by default. You can change the graphics settings afterwards anyway & the viewer will remember them. So you don't lose anything by switching benchmarking off. You are not the only one with this problem, that's why we have a way to disable benchmarking: https://hg.phoenixviewer.com/phoenix-firestorm-lgpl/rev/8551133b1d7b 1. While logged out of Firestorm. 2. Right click the desktop shortcut for Firestorm → Properties → Shortcut tab. 3. In the “Target” text box, go to the end of the text, *add a space* and then add this exact text to the end: --noprobe. eg) "C:\Program Files (x86)\FirestormOS-Release\FirestormOS-Release.exe" --set InstallLanguage en --noprobe 4. Click “OK” to apply to save changes and launch Firestorm using the Desktop shortcut. (Note that if you use the pinned application on your task bar, make sure you pin the shortcut, not the running viewer.) Hope this helps someone else as it did for me. Thank you Whirly for your quick assistance. Sounds Turner
  3. Thanks for the fix, worked for me on Firestorm OS Release http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_intel_fix_32bit
  4. If you're talking about HiFi I was testing the beta viewer earlier this year, wasn't impressed, was very basic. Obviously it's still in its early stages I know, but my system is not even compatable with that game already. I talk to a few mates about it that were in CloudParty then went to HiFi when the beta viewer was released. Maybe it does look a lot better than it did for me I dunno, might try it again when i get my toshiba back this week.
  5. Hi, I don't know much about this new game world, only what I have read and discussed with individules. Considering the entertainment value, interactivity and creativity Second Life has given it's residents, I'm looking forward to this new adventure. Been into this stuff since ActiveWorld & CyberTown, vrml days. I hope they think about the average person's budget in this new world, SL was always a bit over priced to own land. Paying out a grand to put your name on a simulator, before your 300 per month subscription.. Considering the price of virtual real estate in open sim worlds, SL could have been a bit cheaper to own virtual land. Something I've always thought about was being able to access an online world without the need to download a client. For example, you would have your own web site or page with info about your club/store/business/world whatever. Users would log in to your page and be able to access your world without downloading any game client. The world wide web has instant access to your world creations via their web browser, social media sites etc. If you built say an island club scene for example, and it gets popular, possibly the best way you could represent your creation to the public is through your own website, instant access, no downloads, visiting this place to get to your place etc. If anyone ever visited CloudParty, the idea behind it was cool at least, just log in and you're immersed in 3D. Anyway, can't wait to explore the new world, test the tools and get creative! hopefully soon.
  6. Hi, Need a script that allows users to join a list by touching an object. And give an object to a random user on a day set buy the ownser. Thanks
  7. It doesn't seem like a big deal until you look at the facts, Honda releases a new motor cycle but you won't find it on their website unless you happen to browse to old pages. I don't think you would be forcing anything on anyone, if someone views your web page they're there for a reason. It's you're responnsibility to make sure your potential clients see what you have to offer and your latest products. Look at "any" online store, you won't find their oldest products listed first, just seem the right way to do business. If someone can't find what they want when they want it, guarenteed loss of business, you lose potential clients. That would be unprofessional and inconsiderate in any design project. But it's not my fault because i didn't design it, Just saying it would be nice to have those options for the people that actually make and sell their products, services. They should have a choise to show potential customers what they want them to see first on their store.
  8. Can we re order items for sale on the market place? i don't see any option. I see the options to change the order as i'm viewing them, like - Age - Newest First, But this would be useful for when anyone else is viewing your products instead of seeing all your old items on top first.
  9. Thanks Ela Have a fairly nice system for in-world, But would be nice to tie into the game API with website. Not using centova myself but would like to see your setup some time, Will buzz you in-world
  10. Is there any chance there will be a subscription method for marker place? I mean if seller has a product that requires a weekly or monthly subscription to a service. what i'd like to do is offer a subscri[tion service on market place that registers a new client to a rental box in-world.
  11. Posted this in jira.secondlife.com about 1 year ago Has anyone messed with flash on a prim and know if this has been sorted out? - Added website url with embed flash to the face of a prim. Opened the webpage on face of the prim and the flash screen loads on the web page. But cannot click the Allow button in the popup dialog for "Adobe Flash Player Settings.
  12. Be careful with this guy, They are using alts/bots around sl putting them outside stream stores then passing notecards for dripping streams That's all i can say right now
  13. Well i have a system to rent subscriptions in-world Is that subscribe-o-matic for the market place?
  14. How would you deal with payments on market place for weekly or monthly subscriptions? There are not many people offering web based services on market place but i see a few, Are they taking the first month payment over market place then moving them to a rental box for next payments? There should be a solution for this maybe there is?
  15. Hi, I'm looking for some info on setting up a billing system so residents can subscribe to our site Also enabeling them to make purchases for monthly subscriptions to web based services. Not sure where to start, have to pass this info onto the software developers. The developers say if i can provide this info they can look into it further. I usually focus on sl for sales but want to expand a bit and give more choise to new customers, ie. web on a prim sales :) I'm guessing if the api for sl is simular to how you might use the paypal api to connect a billing software to paypal? Any info appreciated Thank you
  16. Hi, Not sure what you mean by xstreamhotspot, we don't resell streams, our servers are located in Colombus Ohio. If you still need an account, I can provide you with a custom live Shoutcast stream with the AutoDJ features. The account would include admin access to web hosting panel (cPanel) where you will have an icon that takes you to your shoutcast admin panel where you'd manage the live Shoutcast features and AutoDJ. You can contact me in-world, listener allowance and how much web space for your mp3s etc. I'm more focused on providing live accounts but have the resources to include AutoDJ. Can provide a demo account if you need to tray it out. Thanks
  17. I'm not sure but this might be a grapgics adaptor issue, thought i'd ask here Haven't been able to run viewer 2 for over months now, thankfully i can run TPV's I posted this in Q&A's but couldn't reply to that so posting it here again. I can't replace my graphics card as i'm running a toshiba equium Specs here Maybe someone can tell me if it's a graphics card problem. When i install and run viewer 2 it starts and says initilizinf VFS Then it says: Gathering Hardware Information, App May Appear Frozen. And that's it, the viewer crashes. I found a reply to simular post saying there is a work arround, to remove the winmm.dll from the viewer instilation, No luck with that either. I can run sl in all tpv's
  18. I posted about this near 12 months ago that i wasn't able to use the latest viewer 2. I install it then start it up and it just crashed, it says soething about sending info then nothing. Thankfully there are 3rd party viewers up to date with the latest features, but i'd prefer to use the intended viewer.
  19. Hi, Here's a really simple system that lets you change the channels from apopup menu Script //=======Land Radio Script =======// // assembled for this purpose by// sky Honey and Dianne Mechanique // based on the work of others////===========9/12/05==============list _radioURLs;list _radioStations; integer _linenum = 0;string _notecard = "stations";//-----------------------reset_radio() { _radioURLs = [ "" ]; _radioStations = [ "off" ]; _linenum = 0; llGetNotecardLine(_notecard, _linenum);}add_station(string line) { list words = llParseString2List(line, [" ", " ", "="], []); if (llGetListLength(words) < 2) { return; } string url = llList2String(words, llGetListLength(words) - 1); string station = ""; integer i; for (i=0; i<llGetListLength(words) - 1; i++) { if (llStringLength(station) > 0) { station += " "; } station += llList2String(words, i); } _radioURLs += [url]; _radioStations += [station];}//-----------------------default { state_entry() { reset_radio(); } changed(integer change) { if (change & CHANGED_INVENTORY) { reset_radio(); } } dataserver(key query_id, string data) { if (llGetListLength(_radioURLs) > 11) { llSay(0, "only the first 10 stations are avaliable"); } else { if (data != EOF) { add_station(data); _linenum++; llGetNotecardLine(_notecard, _linenum); return; } } llListen(93, "", NULL_KEY, ""); llSay(0, "touch to change stations"); } touch_start(integer touchNumber) { llDialog(llDetectedKey(0), "pick a station", _radioStations, 93); } listen(integer channel, string name, key id, string message) { string newURL = llList2String(_radioURLs, llListFindList(_radioStations, [message])); llSay(0, message + " ---> " + newURL); llSetParcelMusicURL(newURL); }} Then you just create a notecard & you must call it Stations And put the radio urls in it like this: Ambient = = = http://scfire-dtc-aa06.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1035Chillout Dreams= Chan. 1 = Chan. 2 = = http://scfire-ntc-aa03.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1025Liquid DnB = = House = http://scfire-ntc-aa04.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1026Tech House = = = Put those into a prim and deed the prim to your group then people can change channels.
  20. Your shoutcast web admin panel should have a script that you can copy the code and paste it into your own web pages. If it's a flash based player then you would also have to download the flash files and upload them to the same directory. That's if you want to have your station on a webpage This site has some great channels di.fm
  21. Hi, A shoutcast stream that comes with autodj feature is what you need, You can broadcast live or when there's no live dj you can switch to the autodj or have it start auto when no live dj is using the stream. Autodjs require webspace to upload your mp3 files so you'll be paying a bit more than a live shoutcast stream. Depending how much web space you need for your mp3 collection.
  22. Hi, If the dj tools/software you're using supports shoutcast then your're good to go, The shoutcast listener/stream url will allways work in sl. You could check out Mixxx http://www.mixxx.org/ it's free dj software and supports shoutcasta also. There's another litle tool called M3W it's stand alone unlike winamp where you have to run winamp to run the shoutcast dsp plugin. It basically listens to your soundcard for any audio, same as if you were using the soundcard option in the shoutcast dsp.
  23. Hi, I put up an advertisment as i normaly do to advertise our sl related services, new price plans etc. Then i was contacted and told i cannot post my advertisments in the forums and it was deleted. Yet when i ask why are other people are allowed to post their same services on the forums, i got no reply. I spent a lot of time and money to provide the services i offer sl residents, since 2005. So, from what i see, other people offering the exact same service are allowed to post their adds here, but not me? What's that all about?
  24. I tryed the viewer 2 again today and same problem, it just crashes before login screen. Just installed the preview for phoenix firestorm and i must say it's more like sl viewer 2 in its layout, impressive.
  25. There's a lot of market place type sites that do this allready, take L$ payment and deliver the item, The problem is it's not as simple to setup a website that's implimented with the LL payment system. If there was everybody would have one, i think there should be a nice tutorial on building such a website. Everyone should be able to sell their own SL products from their own websites.
