  1. In this order, try:

Wait, sometimes the servers have problems, only wait a few hours at most.

Retype your user name (both of them) and password in the boxes provided on the logon screen.

Check the Second Life grid status for logon problems.

    http://status.secondlifegrid.net/

    Try logging on at

    http://slurl.com/

On login screen take this path. In top left hand corner of screen, click, edit > perferances > in the general tab, click the box that says "show start location on login screen" click apply, click OK. Now you have something new on your login screen. Click the down arrow and choose "home", or "last location" or type "Violet" (Any region you can remember will do, if you remember the regions name spelling exactly) in the "type region name" selection. Try all three if you need to.

For wired connections for modems only: Disconnect all wires concerning your connection, wait 30 seconds then plug them back in again, including the modem and transformer. Wires should snugly fit into ports. These instructions do not apply to routers.

For wireless connections and routers: Reset your system clock. see "help and support" in Windows for directions.

Your firewall should be set to "outbound access only" for the Second Life program.

    Another possible solution:

Try another viewer. Like the SL viewer

  2. The inventory has filters to narrow the search for objects that might have ended up in the wrong folder. See the gear at the bottom of the inventory then choose "show filters". Try various names that might have been used for the object in the inventory search window this might also find it.

You may need to buy that item again.

  3. Contact the SIM owner or property owner and ask him about it. Rerezzing it might fix it, if not, then the script may need to be reset if it's a full permissions scripts.

To find out who the owner is, right click the object then click object profile. You want the owner not it's creator of the object.

When you contact the owner ask him if it's group only.

  4. I believe this is a permissions question. Yes, if the item is transferable. It's other permissions may also need to found out (mod and copy) as well, depending on how the new permissions are set once it's sold. If things are not compatible this might cause you trouble making the sale. Check it and test it for possible problems before making it available to the public.

  5. Reduce your graphics settings, in particular the draw distance. New viewers reset the settings, they maybe different then in the last edition if your using the defaults.

Check for programs running in the back ground in task manager, disable all of them you can which would not include your security software..

  6. I was having similar problem with the last two SL viewers with the new one it has straightened out. While this was occurring I cleaned the LM history ......... Globe tab > TP history tab > Gear (bottom left) > clear TP history and routinely cleared the history cache Me > Preferences > Privacy > Clear history button. If it hangs repeatedly click the viewer button in the taskbar, if using the windows OS, this may break hangs loss.

I was also showing excessive memory usage in the Windows event viewer for the GPU as one possible cause.

  7. I would like to choose the version of the viewer I use. The last two SL viewers produced numerous problems for me, serious ones, system hangs and crashes. I would have liked to have rolled back to a previous viewer till the problem was fixed.

To my knowledge I am not about to be banned and frankly to say so is rude, Peewee.

"It sounds like whatever viewer you are using is also coming close to being blocked and you are being "nagged" to upgrade before you can`t login on it at all."

I'm using the SL viewer 2

  8. Adjust your graphics card setting in the SL viewer. Check your graphics card setting in control panel if you have them. Check for a driver update for your graphics card. Clearing the cashe as has been suggested is also a good idea.
