  1. What is Bellisseria? I love seeing what new things have come to SL. I will also Google it but if you also have links let me know!
  2. I joined back in 2005 and saw the surge and subsequent rise and fall and roller coaster of popularity for Second Life. What always drew me in most were three main things... the creativity (making stuff!), the music/arts scene and the roleplaying. There have ALWAYS been "SL is Doomed" threads since forever so I just roll my eyes when I see those.. but having not played much other than to wave at frends and answer customer questions for stuff I still sell occasionally.. I have not been really active since probably 2014-2015 or so. So.. is SL worth coming back to? I figured it would get stale for many but level out eventually with die-hard long time fans and some new curious people mixed in... has that happened? My biggest reason to come back would probably be to create things again.. it always gave me a sense of joy to hear back from my customers about how much they loved stuff I made... how they used it in their homes.. or in a roleplay etc. My long time SL store co-owner, my best friend.. my late husband, passed away in 2017 after a battle with ALS. I miss him and would like to honor him with more creations like the ones we used to make together. Or.. is it really slowly tapering off as far as traffic goes for this platform? Love you all! Cathereine Night - Owner of the now sleepy AlleyCat Studios (and a bunch more!)
  3. I have been around since 2005. I used to do pretty good, making things to sell as a hobby. For a while I didnt update my store but I want to get more seriously in the game of design again. Is it worth it though? Are sales still strong? Is the market dying or staying flat? Is it possible with steady hard work to make good livable money or would I be better off forgetting it? Also in no way am I asking for numbers here, just general thoughts from other serious merchants.
  4. I wonder how this impacts SL and what if anything will impact Linden Labs development process. Minecraft has now pulled out of development according to this article. http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/development/jon-martindale/notch-cancels-oculus-rift-minecraft-after-acquisition/
  5. Join us for the "I Feel Green.. Time To Get Off The Boat..." Medieval Role-play Event. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ambrose/182/251/25 Sim Name: Ambrose The Kingdom of Ambrose is a cursed island and our story begins with a town that is only 15 years old, the ruins of a castle, and a curse. The De'Marinae family, a noble family from the mainland coast owns the island of Ambrose. The tale's say that once many years ago, the ruins of the castle now in the crater at it's center was part of a kingdom in the clouds. The De'Marinae family have been attempting to rebuild the island despite it's curse and return it to it's former glory as one of the richest shipping and trade locations in the Crystal Sea. The curse is supposedly only able to be lifted from the land if the 7 crystals of power are found and restored to the lost alter. Once restored the prophesy states that "The once and future Queen and her followers..." will be able to channel the power of the crystals and restore the city of Ambrose to the sky. The settlers of "New Ambrose" are terrified of the castle ruins, reporting strange lights and eerie noises. Explorers of the island have documented numerous caves, including some with strange underground ruins of some lost civilization. Ruins from the previous inhabitants have been used to rebuild parts of the city. Despite the quaint new city, many feel unsettled by the island itself, often commenting on feelings of dread and of being watched. Who will you be? What role will you play?
  6. Quality Medieval Merchants & GM Weapon Sellers For New Roleplay Sim Our stores are not in a market in the sky, these spots are part of the roleplay area resulting in higher traffic and visibility. Shops in town make town useful although we realize that promo boards are not quite authentic ;) and thus the buildings are enclosed to keep the theme. Our pricing is set in a way to only cover sim upkeep costs, we make no profit. ALL proceeds go to pay tier, I do not make a profit from these rentals, I sincerely thank you for supporting Ambrose by renting. Medieval Themed Shopping in Ambrose Will Be Regularly Promoted At OUR Cost. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ambrose/184/252/25 Contact Cathereine Night with any questions.
  7. Join Us! GRAND OPENING WEEKEND March 15th - 17th 2013 Currently Open House! Feel free to come explore at your own pace. The Kingdom of Ambrose is a medieval fantasy 18+ rp where the players decide the factions, decide the outcomes, and participate in monthly epic sim-wide quests. Legend says the ruins at the center of the island are those of a city once held in the sky by great magic artifacts. How this land is rebuilt is up to you, what secrets lay hidden? Most fantasy races are accepted, we welcome humans, elves, fae seelie and unseelie, and others. We are not furry friendly, lycans may be accepted but can not be cartoonish. Come roleplay with us! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ambrose/184/252/25 --- More Info -- Ambrose Means Immortal. One of the things that makes the Kingdom of Ambrose different, is that it begins with a town that is only 15 years old, the ruins of a castle, and a curse. The De'Marinae family, a noble family from the mainland coast owns the island of Ambrose. The tale's say that once many years ago, the ruins of the castle now in the crater at it's center was part of a kingdom in the clouds. This land will change and evolve with the actions of the players.
  8. No offense to you, but would'nt that be a copyright infringment on Disney? Unless you have permission, you may want to rethink using Disney licenced characters and logos.
  9. Wayfinder Wishbringer you said that very nicely and I agree. SL is slowly being killed by Linden Labs/ Linden Research. I could say more but then the Mickey Mouse club will chime in and say everything is just peachy and perfect.
  10. Sólo quedan porque me pagan. Even that is apparently being messed with however..
  11. Having been here for 6 years in various forms... I am sorry to say Second Life is dying. Linden Labs is making one bad business decision after another and Philip Rosedale has either lost his vision or does not care apparently because he continues to allow his company to do whatever the hell they want while the community as a whole protests with little to no support for these moves. This recent marketplace fiasco is a joke.. I have had innocent non-violent, non-sexual items delisted which had also been listed for extra lindens in the top categories and they will not re-list due to "mysterious" forbidden keywords which are NOT pointed out anywhere. I had to strip my listings to bare bones to get my items back up, a frustrating process also time consuming cutting into my real life work and study time for college. I dropped my island because concierge service amounted to being told to "please file a ticket". So I was paying over $300 a month for what? Nothing really.. just digital property with no support. I am considering selling my mainland and leaving SL as well and I am not a doomsday type of person but being treated this way as a customer is ridiculous. A word of advice for the Linden Research staff (not that many of you care), listen to your customers for once! I know its impossible to make everyone happy, but sometimes we have good ideas because we live in what is essentially your business but our world. We dont usually complain just to give you heck, but when you see floods of forum messages saying "No teens please" maybe you should leave the platform adult and create a seperate entity for the educators and younger audience for example. Or if you see people saying there are problems with the marketplace well then hey.. theres probably problems with the marketplace! I could add more but if you bothered to read that you probably get my point. Listen.. we can only take so much and I myself am at the end of my rope barely hanging in, I barely even log in anymore...
  12. THINK ABOUT IT - Legally Linden Labs your allowing teens into a "game" that contains adult content and you know it. This is a poor choice, stop before its too late! Or do you want to lose this platform? Are you prepared legally for whats to come? This is not a threat it is common sense.
