  1. Not sure what you mean by tags?  if your talking about catagorys I think there use to be a link to a Jira with in one of the set of instructions for direct delivery, but I haven't been able to find it my self.

  2. People have been taken to court for sampling as little as 3 notes of a song, this all so applies to move and TV samples to.   There's really no border line if you don't have permission then it's illegal, even DJs are suppose to pay fees for playing a song.  But only the Owner of the music can file the DMCA, if they chose to, some don't.  I believe currently in SL only the person who uploaded and or people selling it would be held responsible, if you have a copy of some that is illegal, it could be removed from your inventory by LL after it's reported.

    I looks like your asking how to do every thing in SL, there's a LOT to learn in SL it my be better to ask about one subject at a time, in the correct forums for each question.

    All so looks like you might have some experience, but are new to SL some of the terms you use are not common to SL, I had to look up what a "sprite" is, in SL that would be called a particle,  do a search for "The Particle Laboratory" inworld they have lots of good info and examples there.

    All so SL is not divided in to rooms, it's easy to make a room,  but  we think in terms of sims, land parcels, and Land Impact, here's some other links that might help you get started.

    Is that right? Would you mind showing some proof?

    I have no memory of posting this video before and will edit my initial post to remove the video if what you say is true.

    My mistake I was thinking of this,

    http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/Has-anyone-seen-quot-Elektable-quot/m-p/1584859

    The names of the videos are so close Elektable/Unelektable.

    Any way like I said SL is where I go to get away from RL,  I get plenty of politics in RL, din't watch watch the video so I have no comment about it.

  5. I don't think there's going to be one right answer to this, lower is all way better and gives more flexibility to where it could be used.   But one thing to keep in mind a 200 LI boat won't be able to cross a 512sqm parcle even if it's empty.  For me even staying at 32 LI give me a lot of flexibility with some prims now only costing 0.5 LI when linked.  Going to 48 LI seams reasonable or may be even 64 LI for a really big project, but I will have to force my self to cross the 32 LI mark,  I'm so use to building for the old limit. lol

    I don't see any reason for any limits beyond the limits of the build tools them selves.  Even before the new LI there were very large 250 prim ships that had non physical movement, how well those sold vs smaller physical boats I don't know.  If I was to start a boat business I wouldn't limit my self to just one size of boat over time.

    Good morning

    I want to have a river on my land,now i know the landscaping but how do I make the river with moving water and currents?

    I want to have a boat on it so should look realistic,please help :-)

    For prims water I like to use 2 layers of textures one moving slightly slower then the other and or using a different water texture.  All so using Torus and spheres can make swirling water currents which can help break up a large flat straight flowing water currents.

    Here's the script you need, it's really simple I all so included a link to the function description to help you edit it if your new to LSL

    default
    {
        state_entry()
        {
            llSetTextureAnim(ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP , ALL_SIDES, 1, 1, 1.0, 1.0, -1.0);
        }
    }

    The "anti-water" part of that jira is becoming urgent with increased use of deferred rendering, breaking invisiprims, which was the only way to stop Linden water from rendering for entry to underwater tunnels, below-the-waterline spaces in boats, etc.

    Qie, as you may know LL colosed the Jira on the broken invisiprims so I started a new one requesting hiding water as a new feature.

  8. I don't know any thing about making bots, specialy any thing dealing with programin out side of LSL, but I have seen an advance bot in world that uses RLV for people to interact with it, The RLV is controlled from an object rezzed near it, touching that object gives you a menu , but to get a menu by touching the bot directly would have to be in an attachment worn by the bot.  If I'm correct the person touching the bot doesn't need RLV in this case as the controlling object is sending the RLV commands, not the toucher.  With useing RLV all the menu scripting to control the bot in world is just using LSL and RLV commands, sence the bot wold be the owner of the RLV object controlling it, the RLV programinag should be much simpler, and not require the bot to have a relay.  The menu in addition to the RLV commands should be able to send commands to an API out side of SL as well, but I have no clue about how that works.

    I'm sure some one else will have a better answer, but I thought this might help a bit, and I'm all so intrested in learning more about how bots work.

  9. your welcome, that info may be a bit out of date and may be changing any day now see the releace notes for  Second Life RC Magnum twords the end, all though I think that just appalys to regular prims.

    consider it as someone want to banned me ?? and sent me linden from stolen credit card and report on me... that's i was talking about it , i want you guys to see this point from bigger view

    Wouldn't any one sending you L$ from a stolen credit card all so be reporting them selves by reporting you, any transfer of L$ is traceable by LL.  All so grieffers almost never have payment info on file, so not likely  to be using a credit card.  Have you bought any thing recently and may be got a refund from a failed delivery, or if you accidental made a double purchase on the marketplace and a merchant send you a refund for one of the items.  How long has it been since you connected the person that sent you the L$ not every one is here every day or may live in a different time zone.

    If you want us to consider that some one is trying to do this to get you banned, then you should consider why anyone would go to this length and risk to do so, if you can't think of any reason, then I just can't see this happening randomly to some one.

    If you don't feel save with the L$ some one sent you, you could just send it back, other wise contacting LL is the only way to verify if it's it's safe to keep if you think it's stolen.

  11. To say LL isn't doing any thing about servers is silly.

    "This year, Linden Lab is making the single largest capital investment in new server hardware upgrades in the history of the company. This new hardware will give residents better performance and more reliability."

    http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Tools-and-Technology/Project-Shining-to-Improve-Avatar-and-Object-Streaming-Speeds/ba-p/1583465

    If your getting crashed just by being around other people with lots of normal (non grieffing) attachments and huds with scripts then it might be time to upgrade your computer, or turn down your settings, or avoid large crowdes, I had to do that when my graphics card died, and it took me several months to save up for a new computer.

    Even with a new computer I still crash several times a day, all due to having really unreliable internet service, so far they have replaced my modem 4 times.

    The only time I've ever been crashed by a grieffer is in a non premium public sand box, in this case it actually crashed my graphic drivers.  It would be easy to say just avoid this by not going to non premium public sand boxes, but I thinks that it's unfair to say that, because many new residents have few other options, and the public sand boxes are easy for them to find.

    I think your rant about LL needing to upgrade their servers is uninformed, but being concerned about griefers crashing people is valid.  One thing that disturbs me is that LL knows about and allows the sale of tools on the market place that can crash others peoples viewers, their explanation was that these tools can all so be used to get rid of griefers and there for are useful.

    I won't pretend to have any idea how network or servers security works or say how it or the policy around it should be. But I do think LL should make more of a priority around providing new residents with a less hostel environment if they hope to have more resident stay past their first log in.

  12. Thanks Chriss, that use to work for me, realm Vll use to be my lucky realm for getting the hud, but this week I played in every realm every day and only got a hud once, and that one time it took over half an hour to get it.  I can still cash out, with out the hud so I don't even Waite any more for it, actually I find it more fun not knowing how much I have collected.

    I use to think that may be because I've been playing LR since it first came out that the data base was taking longer to find me as more people started playing growing the size of the data base, but now that several new players are not getting the hud that's not likely the problem.  There was talk of a new inwrold data base that LL might be testing in LR we my be starting to see the limits of that.   So far I've tried going to different realms,  jumping of the rock several times, clear my cash, doing a clean install of the viewers, used other  viewers, tried turning down my graphics setting down from ultrahigh, and disabling advance lighting, using an alt.  Just like a lot of the market place problemsproblem seam to only effect some people.

    Not getting the hud isn't an issue for me, but new people in LR would benefit from doing the quest to learn their way around and learn how to cash out, if they don't have some one to show them around.  I tested with an alt that hadn't been to LR and I was able to cash out with out the hud but I didn't get the quest.

  13. There's one shop that seams to put any one who visits their shop on a mailing list, in their notices it says to go to their shop to unlist by touching a unlist board.  But because you showed up to their shop again you end up back on the list, likely from a separate visitor counter.  I've unlisted my self from the message board 3 times now.  I all so have tried to contact the owner and haven't gotten a reply, and I'm still getting messages from them which all so go to my email.  Very annoying.  I haden't thought to AR them, I'd have to reread the TOS to see if this is even some tin LL would deal with.  If I remember correctly you should get a confrimation, but LL will never tell you how or if they dealt with it.

  14. In general I don't see why not to leave them up, but one reason I could see for wanting to unlist seasonal items is that we don't have control over the order of items listed on our store fronts, if out of seasonal items dominate the first page of a shop listings then it might be good to remove them or remove them until other items take up the first page again.  I think seasonal items are a great example of some thing that would benefit greatly form being able to chose the order of items listings of your own storefront on the marketplace.

  15. I agree, and I've had the same problem with some of the sales notices I've received, and then couldn't find the item at the store.  I'm not much of a shopper when I get frustrated looking for the item I came for.  If some one blogs about some ones item then it would makes sense to point that item out to customers and at the same time return the favor and have a link to the blog article.  This would be a good use of prim media to put the blog article on a prim next to the item for sale.  But any of this can only happen if you know your items been reviewed, twice I've had items reviewed but didn't know about it until weeks later, when a friend told me they saw the article online.
