  1. Beginning on March 21, purchases on the Marketplace using Direct Delivery will go directly to recipient’s Received Items folder. The Received Items folder will NOT be used for other inventory transfers at this time. Magic Box purchases will continue to go to the Objects folder.

The Delivery folder will appear on the order and in all email notifications to the recipient.

At launch, we will be sharing additional details as well as updated Knowledge Base articles in all four languages supported on the Marketplace. We will also provide more details on migration.

  2. We appreciate your feedback as it is a vital aspect of the development process. We have not yet determined next steps on this feature, and will only do so after carefully reviewing all feedback.

A separate problem that has been mentioned in this thread is related to SVC-7748 on LeTigre and BlueSteel. We will be rolling back those regions on Wednesday, and a comment has been posted to the JIRA.

  3. We apologize for the confusion about what will be launching. Here is a clarification:

    • Direct Delivery will launch with all Direct Delivery purchases going to the Received Items folder.
    • We will be speaking with Residents to get feedback before we release any ADDITIONAL changes that result in objects being sent to the Received Items folder.

  4. Hello everyone,

We really appreciate the feedback you are sending in, and are reviewing this thread closely. We understand that the feedback you provide to us during this Beta phase is critical in the decisions we make moving forward with this product.

It will take us some time to review all the feedback, however we will address these concerns. Keep an eye out for that coming next week.

Please keep the constructive feedback coming!

  5. Hello Merchants,

We have just released a Beta on Aditi to test a new feature called Received Items. We are very interested in feedback from merchants. Please respond to this thread with feedback or file a JIRA for any bugs.

Check out the blog post about the Received Items Beta for more information. Note that you must go to specific regions to try this feature out. There is a wiki page with instructions which includes the slurls to these regions.

  6. We have begun to answer some of the questions that have come up in this thread and elsewhere.

What are you doing to make sure this does not happen again during another peak traffic time?
We are working to make our systems more fault-tolerant and better able to recover from such unforeseeable outages in the future. Direct Delivery will also greatly improve the stability of the Marketplace in these areas.

Why did I receive payment on an order from before February 13, 2012?
While working to resolve orders after the Valentine’s Day downtime, we identified a subset of older orders that had not been completely processed. We were able to resolve those orders as part of the work done to complete Valentine’s Day orders.

Please continue to check back for additional information.

  7. Hello Merchants,

We have completed processing most of the orders placed before the recent downtime on February 13, 2012  and February 14, 2012.

In appreciation of your patience, we will be offering free commission on all listings less than L$10,000 starting NEXT Friday for three days starting at noon PT Friday, February 24, 2012 (through noon Monday, February 27, 2012).*

Please submit questions on this forum post and we will post all pertinent responses by end of day Friday.

Please contact customer support if any orders placed between February 13, 2012 and February 14, 2012 have not been completely processed.

For previous updates and info you can visit this thread.

*All listings L$10,000 or more will be charged 0.01% commission.
    Thank you,
    The Commerce Team
  8. Starting at 11pm SLT, February 13, the Second Life Marketplace experienced two separate hardware failures which resulted in delayed deliveries and Marketplace downtime. While the site has been back up since 1pm SLT today, some merchants may see delays in order completion and merchant payout. We continue to investigate the cause of these issues to prevent this kind of failure from happening in the future. We apologize for any inconvenience.

  9. Thanks to those of you who have tried out the Direct Delivery Beta. Here is follow up to the questions/comments that have come up so far:

    • First of all, thanks Couldbe Yue for a great tutorial. We've added a link to the wiki instructions to help others get started with Direct Delivery.
    • We have updated our wiki instructions to make it clearer where information on the current Direct Delivery Beta issues can be seen. (JIRA or the Release Notes, for internally tracked issues.)
    • ANS: please provide feedback on the proposed changes to ANS on the Direct Delivery survey we have created.
    • To clarify: ANS changes will NOT impact current emails, but emails are currently being reviewed, so please provide feedback on what you would like to see in the Direct Delivery survey if you have specific requests (that have not already been captured in JIRA, such as the ability to turn emails off).

Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming!

  10. Thank you all for your interest in Direct Delivery! We are in the final round of testing before we open the Direct Delivery Beta (on Aditi, the Beta grid) to all Merchants for testing next week.

As some of you saw, a draft Knowledge Base article was prematurely posted in this forum and has been removed to avoid confusion. We will be publishing a series of updated articles about Direct Delivery Beta when Direct Delivery launches next week.

  11. Hello Lasher,

This is why we recommend that the seller reply to the review with their own comments.  The Product Listing Review Team will then be able to see the reply from the seller directly.

This will also provide information to potential buyers and others who will see the review before the Product Listing Review Team has an oppotunity to address the report on the review.

  12. Greetings!

Reply to the review on your Product Listing with the information regarding the actual situation with the additional product. Then flag the original review and it will be removed by the Product Listing Review Team.

Do NOT delete and relist your product.  Doing so is a direct violation of the Marketplace Listing Guidelines and will result in your product being blocked on the Marketplace.
