Senra has me digging way back in my inventory- makes me kind of glad I'm a hoarder.
Skin is Laq Neve (I think it was one of their free gifts but I'm not certain)
Alaskametro outlet eyeshadow (MP)
& very old ID MOAR freckles
Amacci free hairbase with BonBon Nori hair
TCC nail polish for Senra (MP)
A very old Sea Hole 'Getaway cardigan'
BDR's destroyed jeans (MP)
& the grey loafers from Senra inventory
Except the hair, Be.Raon's body moles, and Izzie's veins add-on, everything was either free or 1L.
So. much. Fun.
Pic taken at Two Moon Gardens- that parrot reminded me of the olden days.

My recommendation would always be to go and find a nice noobie and give it to them 1k would make a big difference to some new person's experience.
When I was a few weeks old, I was hopping around to all the money trees I knew of, and a girl started chatting to me about how much she'd enjoyed SL but was deleting her account. We talked for a bit, then she said, 'never forget that rl comes first' and dropped 700 linden on me, then tp'd away. I occasionally gift newbies in her honor.

That's my Christmas alt, WinterOnederland!! She's also a sad potato. You and your snoopy plush brightened up the place.
I agree with everything you said about the casino- it's extremely lame, confusing to newbies an overall terrible. I did enjoy the little animations. Anyone who wants to play games for prizes should head over to Merrymount. Their little fair games are fun and give cute little prizes.

On the practical side, I love that my house doesn't count against the Li allowance.
But I also love that I can abandon land and try for something different several times per day without losing anything. I agree on the cute little surprises here and there. It's fun just to wander, especially on the first couple of Belli continents. I like to watch the landscape change from one theme to another. That always features into my decision to stay at a location- whether I can see other themes from my parcel.

in Linden Homes
15 minutes ago, SarahKB7 Koskinen said:These new "houseboats" are still not what actual houseboats are in the UK or wider Europe. And it's more than just a naming convention, as it's a completely different style and culture.
The definition of a houseboat is any boat or ship that has been refitted into a docked or moored home. Some are seaworthy enough to be self-propelled, or are able to be towed around to alternative locations. Sometimes they're permanantly placed in locations on stilts, or beached on the shoreline on blocks. They're also very ad-hoc and have a homemade quality to them and no two houseboats ever look the same.
What LL is offering would be classed as a floathome in the UK & wider Europe, which is essentially a commercially available, factory produced chalet-like structure built on top of a rectangular floating raft which is not a form of nautical transport.
UK houseboats sound awesome! In the US, the Linden houseboats are pretty accurate.
Here's a random one I pulled up that's in Seattle:
And a couple not far from me that are having to battle to stay on the water. No new ones are allowed to be built!

Thank you! It's Fundati, from their 'Ash Tree set A'. I think I grabbed it on a weekend sale.

I finally landed a beach Trad!
I decided to work on an Alderley after seeing what @Petronilla Whitfield did with hers. I'm still fiddling with it, but I had to sit a moment and contemplate.

I sure hope she's doing well no matter the circumstances and I hope she'll be back. I tried to TP to the shop a few months ago and couldn't. One of my first SL furniture purchases was the 'lippy poof'. Love her animations and the whimsy of her designs. I didn't act quickly enough to grab everything I would have liked when the Sea Hole closed out so I snagged everything I didn't have from Lisp just in case. I moved to a houseboat and I'm going to put that Mermaid kitchen to good use. :)

I'm not sure if this the right section for this, but I'm feeling like Steve Martin in The Jerk when he got the new phonebook & I have to post it somewhere. @TeresaFirelight featured my house in the Parade of Homes review 🤩. Her photos are better than the ones I took, so I'll just link.

It was an April Fools joke yes... and the joke really was how at first it seemed like "Oh, that's really cool" until you walk around it and really start to think about how it would (or more accurately how it wouldn't) work. People saw for themselves what many of us have been saying from the beginning. An urban apartment environment does not really work well for Linden Homes. Many many many people didn't believe us until we actually showed them something along those lines. It looks cool from a long distance, but people wouldn't want to actually live in one.
I lived in a highrise in Lionheart for a brief while. My upstairs neighbors were into bdsm. She glitches through my floor once and he insisted she come down and apologize.
Another time a 'security guard' came to my door and wanted to check my apartment for risks.
I'm easily amused and the apartments were endless fun for me but they definitely would not be for everyone.

I had a very similar experience at Moss & Mink and at TLC , Marianne. I stood, I searched, I did the 'drag the edit window over the area', -blank wall. Tried again later and there it all was.
As you pointed out, one of the gifts at DaD is a gift card that covers the cost of the group join fee. I wasn't already a member so that was super nice.

I was looking at that one too- same about the kraftwork & fancy decor one- it's really nice but I feel like i use it almost too much. I found some neat decor at Bazar that day. I love her things.

Thank you all! I'm fully obsessed with kitchens these days. I spent a long time at North Oak playing with textures- it's pricy but super tempting. It's very modern though-the CKP/modular is speaking to me- it seems versatile. Like it could go retro easily but isn't tied to retro. Very much what I'm looking for.
While I was bouncing around looking, I went to Moss & Mink to look at their new kitchen and they were giving away 500L store credit for their anniversary! Turns out I had store credit left from a few Christmases ago so I got their Aeryn kitchen. (I think I'm spelling that right).
I like it a lot, I'm still on the quest for the perfect one!

I recall seeing that kitchen (minus the decor) on sale a year or more ago, but didn't buy it or mention it in this thread because I found the LODs were poor/it was LI-heavy. And the display model was too large with no indication that it would be re-sizeable. But if you have the opportunity to see Kylie's set you may disagree with any or all of that!
Kylie was lovely enough to rezz it out for me & I really do love it. I sent a notecard to their support to see if I can buy it inworld. I've been looking for something with woodgrain that's neither too modern nor too farmhouse or rustic & it definitely fits that bill.

I think that was a gacha, so not sure what time of vendor she has if it would pick up in area search by name. Also, I believe she is re-doing the store or moving, or something, so perhaps not everything is there I do have the set if you want to see it. Ping me inworld if you want
I'd love to see it! Good to hear she's redoing- the mp listing said there's 10% off inworld which is a decent savings. I'll PM you- thank you!

Several items on sale at Pitaya this weekend. These 2/3 LI towel rails are $50 per rail color.
These colorful kitchenware sets (yellow/blue or pink/green details) are available for $75 each.
The 3 LI painted benches are on sale for $60 per color. (Love them!)
Speaking of Pitaya- I have & love some of their things (picked up some towel rails this week). I've been shopping for a kitchen and their La Couisine fat pack looks fantastic in the pics on the MP but I couldn't find it inworld (even with area search).
I know some of y'all have a lot of kitchens- does anyone have that one, or know of where I can see it inworld? It's a little pricey for me to take a chance sight unseen.

I was rolling the dice on GOH and landed a trad that backs up to Milbank! I had more inspiration than time this year, so I decided to go with 'humble homeowner puts up some halloween decor'. It's open with various food & drink sprinkled about so feel free to roam around.

Wanderlust Weekend, $L50, from Sways. Since it's all copy/modify I'm assuming the pieces and parts can be used individually.
They can! And there's a yoga animation in the curved sand piece. Really cute.

Thanks! In back, it has a crucifix on a chain that runs halfway down the calf. It's the item I've had the longest and worn the most consistently- from classic av, to mesh applied, and now to BOM.
