  1. What are they, exactly, and how can they be set up and used?
  2. There are a lot of different tools for filming, which of course are generally divided by operating system. Video-capturing: Win: Fraps, Camstudio, Hypercam, Xfire, WeGame and others Mac: Berio, Camtasia, and others Editing: Win: Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, WinMovieMaker, Corel VideoStudio, VideoSpin, many others Mac: iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, many others. Linux: Kdenlive (http://kdenlive.org) Peripherals: SpaceNavigator 3D Mouse
  3. I'm not going to read this horrible trainwreck of a thread, but for future customers who may be looking for information, it's a simple matter to use a free online fax service to send a scanned or photographed document. Just google "online fax."
  4. I'm shocked to hear that, too, as I'd thought it was all right now.
  5. Nuesha, fax a copy of your passport to the fax number in the email you received. Tell your parents, and apologise to them. Teenagers in the UK can access the TG, it is just the sign-up mechanism that's broken (and it has been broken for years). Stop being snippy; you are not as mature as you seem to think. I'm sure I would've done something similar at your age, and all is not lost if the facts are as you state. LL has no way of knowing your date of birth without proof, so in order to clean up the mess you created you'll have to give it to them.
  6. One the top bar of the user interface there are little icons that inform you about the land you're standing on. Some places are build-enabled, some are not - but other common icons indicate scripts enabled/disabled, "push" (that is the ability of someone or something to move your avatar, such as a trampoline or a weapon) enabled/disabled. A heart means damage is enabled (for combat role play, or similar uses) and loss of 100 damage points will send you in a teleport back home. If a private parcel is build enabled you can bet there will be autoreturn on to keep it tidy. Clicking the top bar on the parcel name opens up the land pane, and the Objects tab has the autoreturn time (zero is off). If you create a cube, then five minutes later it disappears, you probably have encountered autoreturn - your cube was sent to your Lost and Found folder in your Inventory. "Making things" is not only building from scratch - for instance rezzing a boat or a spaceship to ride in also require build-enabled land. Once seated you can move onto non-build-enabled land, though.
  7. Rather than rely on written answers set up your own practical test. Log in to a role play area. Check stats by pressing the keyboard shortcut Control-Shift-1. The pane that opens up gives your framerate, the sim's framerate (45 is optimum), and time dilation (1.00 is optimum), as well as other useful numbers. Walk around and assess the feel of the sim. Stand in one spot for a few minutes so everything loads and settles down. Then remove all your unnecessary accoutrements and stand still for a few minutes. See if it makes any difference to stats whilst standing. Walk around and see if there's any difference to the way the sim feels. You can compare with settings low, middle, and high, or when wearing one complicated avatar as opposed to a simpler one - there may be useful knowledge to be gained.
