  1. *Puts on her Scripting Dunce pointy hat* I just took out that double ' llSetPrimitiveParams'. I have a nerve even pretending to help anyone == but that fixed it.
  2. default { state_entry() { //do nothing... } collision_start(integer x) //when bumped { llSetPrimitiveParams ([PRIM_FULLBRIGHT,ALL_SIDES,TRUE]); } collision_end(integer x) { llSetPrimitiveParams( [PRIM_FULLBRIGHT,ALL_SIDES,FALSE]); } }
  3. A bit of 'splaining: My take on 'Ni' was, of course, Knights Who Say... which is why Shrubbery, Fleshwound, and Python, tho' I was tickled that Python did double-duty as a coding language reference. Loki is the trickster, which was why I included that. I don't like naming streets for living people, however the way you have it as Izzy only and Blumfield only seems reasonable (except there's an entire Blumfield suburban community so might make confusion). Gamxor is understandable but not an appellation I'd support. Hyperion - as well as laptop, I included Saturn as its a moon of Saturn. I like the badge shortcut name but agree it's too long. Could we get by with C+A+S+H Street? Maybe not as it sounds commercial - on the other hand it's pronounceable and might be fun.
  4. Try rebooting your modem/router (turn their power off for a min, then back on). Also I used to need to redo the firewall to let SL through every time Windows updated. Try deleting then readding SL to the trusted section of your firewall.

  6. Thanks! That reminds me of Screencast-o-Matic. http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/ We're in a golden age of screen capture! W00t!

  8. It would be nice if there could be one account with the various characters linked in it, the way you see it sometimes, however I doubt we'll ever get that.

  10. Pussycat Catnap wrote: ... when script limits finally hit, if ever (sigh, was supposed to hit a YEAR AGO), a lot of those badly made scripts will just cease to work... And a year ago was the Linden apocalypse - Babbage, for one, was working on script limits. I have no clue what's happening now - anyone know? It seemed a good idea to me, since at the dawn of the grid LL had no idea we'd be (for one thing) attaching hundreds of scripted prims to ourselves and hadn't instigated script limits from the get-go. It's a tragedy of the commons.
  11. Here's another one: animation or machinima?
  12. It isn't the scripts and textures needed to make things look and behave fabulously, rather it's the wasted resources (sloppy scripts, huge textures, etc.) that contribute to lag to absolutely no end that are the culprits. Wise use of shared resources benefits us all.
  13. Pussycat Catnap wrote: Cartoons vs. cartoons, far as know. Seems like the difference between death metal and heavy metal - which I can't tell apart. See if you can guess whether this is animation or machinma:
  14. Honest to God. Someone put the content creation subforums back in a useable way, please. And whoever did that needs to learn something about content creation before they touch the forums again.
  15. Is there a world-wide shortage of subforums atm resulting in unassociated topics being crammed in together? Someone *asked* for this? That person is obviously lacking clue one about SL.
  16. Why is Machinima put with Animation? That makes no sense at all.
  17. Also Aditi is the beta grid. The main grid is called Agni. Kolby Nissondorf wrote: Well, you see, when I created the regions, I was hoping that I could intergrate them with the rest of the Second Life Aditi grid so they would run as Estates and not a standalone grid, you see?
  18. I've had a SpaceNav for years and believe it's well worth the money, however a great many people never get used to them and leave them to gather dust. Therefore it's my belief that it might well be possible to pick up a cheap, barely used SpaceNav. Might be worth having a look around.
  19. koto Nizna wrote: Hi! i just downloaded Berio. I never done any video screen capturing before and also machinima. I have some noob questions here: 1. How can i make my cursor invisible when im recording some scenes inworld? 2. Where can i find the full screen mode in v2.xxx 3. Is Berio can also record audio from secondlife (ambient sound, sound effects and music streaming)? Thanks very much for the link!:smileyhappy: koto, suppress the UI with Control-Alt-F1. That will solve both problems 1. and 2. As far as I know Berio records audio, but you might need to alter a setting or two. I use a pc, but if a Mac-user can weigh in here it would be helpful.
  20. Check that you are wearing system shoes and that the shoe slider is set on the smallest size.
  21. There are a couple of ways to play machinima inworld. For Viewer2 Shared Media create a prim (then usually you want to select one face). On the Texture tab click the + and add the media url. You'll want to alter the shape to get the right roportions, and in some cases you'll want to show just the movie not the surrounding webpage. For Youtube add _popup after "watch" in the url to get full coverage (like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=pVndLSP4GgQ). You can even attach it to yourself! Another possibility is streaming onto it by Ustream TV or similar. Parcel Media, available through all viewers, is limited to the parcel itself, and to use it you must have parcel media rights. The movie must be in a QT format, and an easy way to use it is to upload a QT-type video to Blip.tv then stream the original from there. There are scripted televisions for parcels, and some attempt to corral the everchanging YouTube mpg-formatted videos.
