I looked for low poly avatars on the Marketlace at first and then some Google search probably using the wrong keywords since I've never had any results about Ruth and Roth so thank you very much for pointed that out! Also I'm sorry you consider my project not interesting enought but it's totally ok and thank you anyway for taking the time to read the whole file.
  3. I'm sorry but I didn't lost my patience, I have quite a lot of other stuff going on anyway and of course I know it would be at least normal waiting a week or even more? As far as I remember, things irl work this way too. Have you seen a closing date anywhere? Since I noticed quite a lot of views, I just wanted to point out there's a file everyone interested can get to read when they feel like it. No need of human conversation at all so even the most shy/introverted person in the world (I'm one myself) can just take a look at it without wasting time or worse, have to deal with another human being.

  5. Cool! Then there's definitely the possibility to do something like that. Still, since it is possible, why a lot of dynamics like this one are missing? Is it for memory/performance related issues or because it's technically time demanding?

  7. Of course I was joking, I'm totally aware of my pretty inexistent skills but I did start my 3D building journey 'cause I wanted things done my way. As a perfectionist, the entire SL inworld is practically hell. You have no idea how much arms that disappear inside some lady's skirt triggers me (just an example), also I think about building my own SL sometimes just to get back to Linden Lab or some creators saying "THIS is how you do stuff" (without having any kind of knowledge about pretty much everything but, you know XD). Still, I'll probably carry on with my current obsession for 3D so thanks a lot for your advice!
  8. Hello everyone. I'm working on a pretty crazy project and I'm in need of a small team of visionary collaborators who'd like to jump into something... unusual. To be clear, I'm not going to directly pay you. We're going to earn the money so keep reading if you are still curious about it. I want to share my idea with people who love what they do and who find my concept worth enough to spend time on it, though you must be 20+ years old and be one of those who care deeply about the ingame environment (I'm talking about mesh optimization, land impact, smart texture, better performance etc.).   9. Hello everyone, since the beginning of SL I noticed there aren't many "standard-game-like interactions". I'm going to explain myself better but considering I don't have any experience in animation I have to ask the experts. First one: let's say I'm close to an espresso machine, I touch it and I select "coffee" from the menu. Then a little cup appears already full on the lower part of the machine as irl (avoiding animation of the coffe-like liquid that flows from the machine into the cup and the cup that slowly gets full). Now the avatar automatically reaches for it, grabs it and takes a sip every 40 seconds. After the third time, the cup disappears from his hand. Would be possible to recreate the whole dynamic? Second one: if yes, is it worth doing it? In my opinion this kind of animations would be great for SL, though doing that for many objects on the same scene may impact the game performance(?) Thank you!

Do you think I'm ready since I completed the "donut tutorial" by Blender Guru? XD (not the coffee cup only the donut but it looked superb, I swear and I can prove it!)
  11. I see, thank you so much for the explanation! Then is there some kind of reference number or information you can use during building that will make sure sliders do change the body shape in a way that you can actually see it? Some sliders are so weak they practically do nothing but I suppose a creator must take them into consideration, he must be aware of them somehow. Or is it just a random result that can be seen ingame only?
  12. Hi everyone. I'm a very curious person but have no 3D building skills or in-depth knowledge about it, so I'd like to ask you experts the reason for default game sliders (for body customization like body fat, legs lenght, breast size etc.) work correctly with some mesh bodies and don't even work with others. Even using different softwares, aren't those body the same? Don't they have the same skeleton inside and so the same "guidelines" that would make a body customizable the right way? Thank you!

Also, Utilizator avatars did existed already the very first time I jumped into SL (that'd be around 2007 if I remember correctly) but I hoped in some kind of update? Now I just want to make a body mesh myself so I can stop looking around for optimized stuff! Probably not since I have zero 3D building skills, though I made an impressive digital reference XD

I had to look that up 'cause I didn't know what a Beta grid even was, also it's great to see I don't have to spend money to get previews and infos of a mesh that'd probably need some adjustments. Even though I'm assuming this method would take a lot of work when building something detailed like a body, for it would force me to render and than check on SL multiple version of the mesh at different stages. Because you know, I think correcting an almost finished mesh would be a lot more troubling from a technical perspective?
  15. Thank you so much! To be honest, 30k was the very maximum I'd wanted to reach for a character since there aren't many good low poly options available, though I'm a bit disappointed to know that a simple body attachment (that I'd love on this type of body) could mess things up that bad.
  16. Well thank you! I totally understand people's point of view because I'm really picky too about my own character in every game I play. If it doesn't represent me the right way I do feel something's off and I might not enjoy the experience to its fullest. We all know SL still has some terrible issues that Lindens Lab will never gonna get fixed however, in my opinon, any one of us should be responsible for what he creates or buys to help improving the whole game environment. A lot of comments in the forum or other blogs talk about people's obsession with having nudity and adult stuff ingame as the main reason for extremely detailed avatars and outfits. I don't see anything wrong with 18+ content, I'd love to have a "complete" body myself, but still it could be done cleverly with less heavier characters just because you know, everything else sucks like plants...and terrain textures...and places that takes forever to render (probably the same bed used to do naughty things is not fully rendered)...gosh how much I hate those things...
  17. Hi everyone, for my own project I'm currently interested in knowing more about 3d building. I'm not a creator but I'm curious about the topic and I hope to learn something new. Let's say I'm working on something in Blender just because it's a free and OS software, I'm going to optimize my object anyway but I want to know during building how much land impact will have on SL even though I'm trying to use as few prims as I can. Is there a way to know or "calculate" that before actually importing the stuff inworld? Do you have your own way to tell "ok, this is just too detailed, I'm going to smooth it out" if I'm making any sense? Thank you very much
  18. Thank you, I do understand what both Alwin and you said. Since I made a return to SL after years I'd say the many issues about avatar complexity are worse than ever. I created a new avatar using the many free group gifts available just to have a more modern character but then I noticed my avatar complexity was 63,578! Screw that. I deleted the whole thing and inventory too and I'm currently moving around on one of the standard game character (ac 12,346) Of course I'm not a creator nor an expert about 3d modelling but I'm really into it and I just love my game being smooth and good.
  19. Hi there, hope I am in the right section. Could someone please tell me how much land impact and avatar complexity has the UTILIZATOR avatar? Are LI and avatar complexity the same thing? Is it possible to edit it using the system sliders? (torso lenght is my main concern) Thank you very much!
