  1. Hee hee, hmmmm... thank you for your comment and link to the Jira, Beq. I have now gone joined the Jira for the first time and added my comment there. For me personally (and I know not for everyone) this is my Number One frustration with Firestorm and grabs my attention every time I look at Radegast where I can tell when stuff happened at a single glance. But my avatar doesn't look that great in Radegast *giggle*... so I keep using Firestorm and taking away / adding 15 or 16 a zillion times a day, depending on the time of year. (I am in UTC +8 with no local DST... thank god!)
  2. Sale price has officially ended and the price has been reset to L$34,950. However, if someone messages me quoting this post, I will come and set it back to L$31,450 for sale to you only, and will leave it set that way for 24 hours
  3. I have long been confused by the way times of events, chats etc are displayed in Second Life, with particular reference to the Firestorm Viewer, which I have used almost exclusively though I have used Radegast to keep an alt logged in sometimes. I finally decided to find out how it was all done from an authoritative source, so I looked at https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_displayed_time_format However, after reading this, while I somewhat understand it, I am rather baffled by why the different ways each point of reference for times of events and chats are so variable, and why there cannot be more uniformity and consistency? The main types of time which are used, and which a user might want in the viewer, include: SL time (which is also PST/PDT) GMT/UTC The user's local time Whether the 12 hour or 24 hour clock is used And the places where we might find times being recorded include: The top menu bar of the viewer Chat and conversation logs Teleport history Group notices So... when you then look at what types of time are used by Firestorm at which points (and probably other viewers too), there seems to be a very random approach to what is used where, and I wondered if there could not be more consistency. Therefore, my thoughts / questions at the moment include: Are these various uses of different time stamps specific to Firestorm, and could be modified by Firestorm developers, or are they determined by Linden Lab programming? Have there been any attempts in the past to bring greater consistency into the way time is referred to in SL / the viewers? (I can't imagine I am the first person to think this is all pretty confusing the way it is). I presume that the way to have change in this area considered would be via JIRA - so the question is, would it be best to use the Firestorm JIRA or the SL JIRA? (I guess this really depends on the answers to Q1, or maybe it is both?) Specific answers to these questions, as well as general discussion, are welcome. By the way, it's interesting to see that the Radegast viewer manages very well by giving everything in the user's local time. (Not sure if that was a setting I had to choose at some point, but it was possible and it makes a lot of sense to me!)
  4. +++ REDUCED BY 10% FOR SUNDAY ONLY > L$31,450 +++ The price of this land is slashed by 10% to L$31,450 from reset (midnight SLT) at the beginning of Sunday until reset at the end of Sunday, after which it will revert to L$34,950 Delightful medium-sized parcel in central north of SL's original continent, Sansara, from which you can sail or cruise to the many waterways, seas and lakes for which Sansara is known, as well as through the ANWR channel to Heterocera. Lovely quiet region with established neighbours and no ugly builds in your view. SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Tawhaki/233/32/22 THE LAND L$34,950 for 2688 sq m = L$13 per sq m This water-oriented land gives you complete flexibility to put building foundations where you like, or even to build on the water with no foundations at all if desired. The land is open to the water on east and west, with delightful low-impact attractive small builds to the north and south. I have set the parcel Environment to 'Sunset' so that you permanently have a delightful low-light evening glow across the water from the west. If you want to change this, you can of course change back to the SL day cycle or to any other Environment setting you like. If you need help with this, I will provide that support, as with any other land parcel settings if you are unfamiliar with parcel management. This also includes Experiences such as AVSitter which will enhance your use of furniture on the land. So if this would be your first land purchase in the Mainland and you are daunted by not knowing how to manage the land, I love to help people with stuff like that ^^. THE REGION The land is 2688 sq m (including 304 sq m of extra prim land in the centre of the region which has been joined to the main parcel which is 2384 sq m) in a quiet region with unobtrusive neighbours in every direction, and has water channels extending to the north towards Heterocera, south to the L-Shaped Lake and beyond, and west towards the oldest regions of Sansara and of Second Life. Unlike some nearby regions, Tawhaki has a stable population of quiet residents who do not rezz eyesores and other neighbour issues! If there is something around you that disturbs you, you can permanently derender it in a few minutes. For each item you don't wish to see, simply: > right click on it > Select More at bottom, and then More again > Select 'Derender' at top right, and then choose 'Blacklist' to permanently eliminate that item from your viewer. Some items you may need to fly closer to do this, but a few minutes spent zipping around the region will yield you your perfect view. MOVING IN: You may retain anything on the parcel at the time of purchase for as long as you wish, and I would be happy to provide some relocation of items in the days after your purchase. I can also loan you a different home or furniture for as long as you like to use them, from the reasonably limited range I and my friends currently own - you would just return them if they are no longer required, without any need to consult with us first. SUPPORT: Please IM me, Sakurako Suki ((display name Sakurako Kamikokuryo, just call me Saku ), and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am almost always online though frequently AFK. Notecards are generally not recommended as I can reply to you from email if I am offline.
