  1. I'm so in love with these new lamps by James&Dew mentioned by Esther in an earlier post (I'll quote at the bottom for details): And look, thumbnails and textures all included! Just wowing at the level of TLC from this brand 😵
  2. More gifts from the Spring Egg Scramble (pictured: *HEXtraordinary* Chocolate Bunny!, Konoha Narcissus mia daffodils Easter edition, LORE Jade Egg Bowl, Serenity Style- Vintage Easter Decor, [Zaida] Plaid Wingback Chair). Gifts available March 25th - April 1st. Full gallery: https://www.lovetodecoratesl.com/2024/03/25/love-to-decorate-spring-egg-scramble/ You can get the notecard with landmarks at LTD headquarters: https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Nymphai/232/180/21
  3. Speaking of Kraftwork, I just saw this gift in the group notices (KraftWork Writer's Corner . Writer's Tablet & Flowers Textures). The notice is from 2 weeks ago so be quick before it disappears!
  4. If I come across a vendor ad on Flickr, I just save it temporarily and upload (if the creator hasn't included the texture with the product already). I just prefer them over my amateur snapshots.
  5. I've actually been using the upload option the most and that is free as well (the upload function mentioned in this blog, not from the Build menu): https://modemworld.me/2023/06/27/looking-at-the-second-life-inventory-extensions-project-viewer/
  6. Oh I see, so no differences what I upload then. Thanks Wulfie.
  7. If you select "upload from computer" or "choose texture" instead of "use snapshot tool", you'll be able to use an image exceeding 256x256. I use Firestorm so not sure if these function the same as in LL official viewer.
  8. Are there any implications for uploading higher resolution images for inventory preview thumbnails? I've mostly been uploading vendor ads from social media instead of taking inworld snapshots and noticed that higher res images result in sharper thumbnail previews but not sure if that's going to be problematic on say performance or texture loading time, etc. ETA: If "Upload from computer" or "Choose texture" options are chosen instead of "Use snapshot tool", images exceeding 256x256 can be used. The resulting thumbnail may be compressed but my question is whether there are any ramifications for uploading higher res images. There are visual differences when that is done, but I wonder if I do this for the whole of my inventory, I would potentially run into problems.
  9. That's not what I meant. I was responding to your comment from the point of view of people "inspecting" items and that form of indirect advertising. I wasn't trying to imply how customers enjoy their product; rather, the intent of a creator, their wariness of their items being inspected, and how they respond to that. They may respond with the reasoning that yes they do want their customers to showcase their work and they have enough customers who don't mind no-mod. Whatever the case, it's fine. As I said, at the end of the day it is up to consumers to choose for themselves. I personally don't pay attention to permissions when it comes to clothes either so I'm probably just not making my point well.
  10. Yes that's true. I guess that leads to the question of whether a creator sells their products so they can get free advertising from their paying customers or so their customers can enjoy their products. And either is fine; it's up to the consumers to choose what suits them.
  11. Don't worry, any creation "ruined" by a user is at low risk if being inspected. People generally inspect items that look good to them.
  12. Ecoe store is a new one for me - you can join the group for free for some gifts (the mirror and books set seems to be set to a different group so I couldn't get that one): http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Wintervale/103/79/2223
  13. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have searched my inventory until my eyes are fuzzy!
  14. Can anyone recall what this item is called? I just know it is somewhere in my inventory but I don't remember what is it called or where it is from.. maybe What Next but can't be sure
  15. I think I've seen this necklace a few times now and have always wondered where I can get it - it's so gorgeous. Does anyone have any idea what necklace this is?
