  1. Most of my pictures here start out "So I got bored..."

I love setting up new places, so that's what I do.  This is my latest rental, and included the house and ground-level landscaping, then I attacked the house with all sorts of add-ons and parts pillaged from a rezzed-out version of my own copy of this build, as well as some additional wood trim.

It kept me busy for hours, and kept my linden balance safe for that period of time :D

  2. Oh I have found my people!!

I like HUDs where I can actually see what's on the buttons anymore, but screen real estate is precious.  I think my favorite HUDds are the ones from Semller, because they're resizable.  I pump those suckers up until they take up half my screen.  It's kind of annoying, but at least I can see what I'm doing and once I have my shoes colored the way I want them, the HUD never has to come out again.  And yes, my head HUD is cranked up to max size, and I use the embiggened Legacy edit HUD when I'm wearing that body.

Maitreya's HUD is an easy read; my only complaint is somehow the way I have attached it makes any time I try to cam directly onto my avatar, the hud obscures her and I have to wiggle my camera around and pan slightly to the side to be able to view her whole body.  Fortunately, though, those adjustments are pretty brief (for setting alphas, materials, or adjusting foot position generally) so my grumpy face doesn't last too long.

I've tried several, but I'm still stuck on Avalon as my favorite, although I like Billie on my alt. It's the only one which allowed me to go from Lelutka Simone to Genus Strong to, now, Avalon and feel like my 'look' didn't change too drastically across those 3 main heads I used. I feel like it's getting older now, and I keep trying newer ones, but just can't shape any, quite yet, so I feel like "me".

I can relate!  I've tried so many Lelutka heads, and frankly my inventory is an embarrassment with regard to how many full-priced heads I've got in there, the lion's share of which are Evo/EvoX (I may need an intervention :P ), but I keep coming back to Avalon.

Outside of her, I'd say my favorite is Sugar.  Her jaw/chin aren't quite right regardless of how much I tweak the sliders, though, so Avalon it is.

Thanks, she had me convinced that I was causing all the confusion by asking questions and creating division!

I don't believe so.  The explanation she gave me made sense, but the initial post was really vague regarding intent, and frankly her (somewhat acerbic) response to me was the first time I saw a clear answer.

I think a lot of us use SL as a tool to cope with situations:  it's a creative outlet, it can be meditative, and it can serve as a means of distraction/ redirection, among many other options.  It's nothing we can't ultimately do RL, but sometimes SL brings more distant options closer.

Let me assist your baffled mind. I'm only asking for ways you  might utilize SL to improve your life. I've never said you HAVE to use SL to do so, or that there needs to be anything SL-specific.  I ask because...well...this is a forum that relates to Second Life!  Imagine that!

Luna, the question was unclear, as shown by the mass confusion about what you were requesting by many parties outside of my posts, hence my "baffled mind"  Judging from the others who were expressing same, I was not in bad company.

    Thank you for the clarification.

And this forum relates to Second Life?  I am shocked, shocked, I tell you!

Remind me of that if you and I are both being chased by a large RL bear. 🙂

Please note the word "fun" :D  Running from a large RL bear would be decidedly UNfun, and it would be done with alacrity in every sense of the word.

I am not trying to answer for the OP, but after a lot of back and forth, I think they were looking for "how do you deal with SL stress IN SL".  (Confusing, I know.)

I'm still baffled.  I mean, I'd deal with it the same way I deal with it RL, so I don't know why we have to have a special, SL-specific way of dealing with them.  Interpersonal stress or tech stress or just garden-variety frustration are standard issues across the board, be they in the virtual or physical world.  Granted, if running were a way I dealt with stress RL then of course that would not be a technique for dealing with SL stress in SL... but I still could log out and go for a run.

That said, the running bit is academic.  My very RL right knee loathes me with the fire of a thousand suns, and running is not on my list of fun stuff to do.

  8. I've run into some difficult situations inworld, and generally I analyze my actions/ reactions, remind myself that I am limited to my own understanding of the situation (at least to an extent), generally land on the most charitable interpretation of the issue, and move on.

Then again, that's what I do RL as well.  Extending grace to others is my standard practice; goodness knows I've benefited from that enough myself. I think my only issue with this thread is... why is this a thing?  Why is developing resiliency in SL any different from RL?  It's all just life.

You have a greater confidence in detecting alts by paying attention to how they "talk".  Turns of phrases, shared typos, how they spell things out sometime, sometimes even proximity. (No one has seen me and Taylor Swift in the same room...I keep missing her by |> <| this much! 😛)

People trying to hide alt identities are generally careful about these things, but slip ups happen and complacency eventually wins... usually. (that right there is one of my tells lol) Hardly concrete and foolproof I'll be the first to admit, but it's more accurate than trying to any so called IP matching... probably.

Seconding this.  I have a friend... well, a friends?  I've known them by a few names in SL, and they play each part to a T.  They don't know the others (their other alts), they've never met my husband, different job, marital status, number of children, etc...
... but the tells are there.  I used to be insulted that they thought so little of my intelligence.  Now I figure whatever; it's their SL, they can do what they want with it.

  10. I've been doing some landscaping for one of my friends.  I'm not a pro by any means, but I think this turned out nicely, and most importantly, he and his boyfriend are happy :)

(note that all structures and statuary are his; the bridge and other stuff are what I threw in :) )

I am curious, do all of these variants increase the complexity of the head dramatically over comparable heads from Lelutka?

    Yes, significantly.

Here's the complexity for my current Lelutka head:

    LelutkaEvoXComplexity.png.16f5f4469fb41e8dc4dc04ead6b92b6b.png

    That totals 8,898.

This is the complexity for the Genus Morph variants I used:

    GenusMorphComplexity.png.f71b828d698f2f08f091e57d0d6bac51.png

That totals 16,849 (unless I entered numbers into my calculator incorrectly).

The difference between the two is 7,851, so very close to an entire additional head.

  12. I got it, because bodies and heads are like Pokemon to me.  I noticed that the dead lowest you could put the chest sliders before things started to seriously deform was 45, and things were way more happy at 50, which is where they are in this picture.

They're kind of awkwardly shaped in the northern "hemisphere" of the breast; the top is very rounded, as if the wearer is floating in space and gravity is not a thing.  No one with a chest that large has that level of weird perkiness; my typist is not under-endowed and... no.  This is not a shape that ever happens in nature.  This is a shape that requires mass quantities of silicone.  Also, the rounding is to the point where the nipples almost point down, which is kind of disconcerting as well.

All that said, I do like that there's a heavier-chested body out there with less emphasis on the bottom half of the body.

  13. I use 16 attachment points before I start getting dressed that are made up of my head, body, hair, one deformer, and jewelry I never take off, in addition to the Firestorm Bridge.  That excludes the huds for my head and body, as I take them off once any adjustments have been made.  I used to wonder how on earth anyone could possibly use up all their attachment points... and then I got more into photography, and into more fantasy-related outfits, etc.

Yes, it's easy to use up all 38 at those times.  Mostly it's a non-issue -- literally fantasy outfits and photography are the only instances where it occurs for me -- but there are times when more are needed.  Thankfully my preferred creators for fantasy looks include many whose releases are modify, and I link like the dickens, but it's by no means a foolproof solution.

I'm Premium Plus and I still get 38 attachment points; Cristiano, I have no idea how you got so fortunate, but I salute you :D
