Well first there is the realease ... and then there are those who abandon right away without annoncement - sort oft afterwave of release.

And then I announce at a certain time - so the people who missed ot and didn't notice in time can have one.

And I announce a certain time so the people who do NOT want this can pause for some minutes.

    Ah, makes sense.

Since it's a new release, shouldn't you just abandon it right away without the announcement?  I don't understand the 25 minute wait.

A funny thing happened to me.

I took a trailer via auto-refresh, because I wanted the content pack. Textures are transfer, but things like lamps are no transfer. Rezzing in there, it looked so pretty that I thought: "I never really clicked with trailers, but this was a very nice place". I wanted to test if I could abandon it and grab it with an alt. So I did. It was hanging in Maintenance so long. The alt used up her 10 refreshes at least 4 times = refreshed the page 40 times. It still belonged to Governor Linden. Then she got a camper, and I thought yes, it went well. Just that it was another camper, what do you give me? 😋

I logged her in asap and she abandoned it, but then the first camper was taken. I will never dare to do it again. This camper was not important, but other land could be.

I like to hear the different situations that happen when people try that, or any situation for that matter.  So sorry that it did not work out for you, but you helped to possibly understand a bit more how the systems works. Or maybe not, since it seems unpredictable, too.  Thank you for sharing!

I can't say it's completely the houses. I am dealing with some health issues right now as well, but even a slight amount of stress throws me in to a downward spiral. I appreciate the thought, and I am looking forward to being in more of a positive mindset once I can get some distance.

I hope you will be feeling better soon, and I was thinking that maybe you can use the house hunting as something to look forward to.  Maybe there are other homes on lakes or rivers that we don't know about yet, and it could be a welcome surprise to you.  Hang in there and maybe think of it as fun, rather than a hopeless task. There has to be something out there for you...maybe even an abandoned one that will be right up your...river (alley)!  :)

Same! I think it's creepy. When I recently abandoned, I got my behind out of there ASAP so as not to bother the new owner.

Yes, creepy!  I originally started my post, "I find it creepy when..." but changed it.  I do the same, get out of there quick when abandoning.

I easily caught a house in Rocky Heights during that release, with zero stalking or drama (and no auto refresh), so it just goes to show that it's as much luck of the draw as anything else. It makes more sense to just chill and have some fun with it, and not give yourself an aneurysm if your "dream" parcel doesn't land in your lap. SL is supposed to be fun and if it's not, maybe it's time for a little break. :)

I have myself in a camper and my alt looking for a traditional. I loosened the reigns from stalking releases on the alt and now it's much more fun to me to be surprised at what comes up. I drop in on the land page at random times now instead of hanging on there for long periods.  If I am out and about in RL, sitting at a stoplight for instance, I will pull out my phone and refresh the land page, and I have actually gotten a home a couple times that way. I have not settled on anything yet because I am looking for a home that feels right to start decorating for Christmas (there will be no outdoor decor until the appropriate time and I will keep the shades down, too, until after Thanksgiving. lol)

Anyway, I know everyone knows what feels right for them, but I am having more fun now that I am just taking it in stride and not studying the regions coming up for release like I used to. 🙄

How do you guys know that information? Are they marked in some way I can look for.

Sario was released today, so look for that on the map and then notice the SPE regions below it that have not been named yet. Those will be named and released in coming days and weeks.  There are a few named like Lollipop and Pegleg with houseboats and another called Black-something Shoals (I can't remember the name) that should be released this week and next. Releases were said to be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but for the past couple weeks, they have been every day if I remember correctly.

Going to abandon a beach front location in 10 minutes.

The location in Sario is exactly what I was looking for.

    Good luck.

I had my eye on that one and hoped, but I am so happy for you...it's beautiful there!  *Gets my people together for a midnight TPing run."  Haha, I kid!  Enjoy your lovely home!  :)❤️

Oops, I meant the home in Sario. :)

Oh!  You know those large round tiki-bar--like openair sheds that the moles have provided here & there on the coastlines?  They often have decks and seating areas around them?  There's one in Puffin Head, another in Penitent Beach.  DJs sometimes hold dances at them.  They're ALSO called pickles!

Ohh, okay!  I noticed the one in Blackwater has a pickle stand there too. ha!

    Or do they all?

"They've been working their way down the Pickle."

"...down to go to Blackwater's pickle opposite the lighthouse..."

Is there a difference between these two pickles?  The first I assume to mean the whole island from Kahuna up north, etc., and all the way down south, but what does the other pickle mean?
