I had to stop at this house because i was down to one  release left, so i wanted to save it in case something came up today, if not today tommorrow

If you have one abandon left within the 24 hours, you would abandon and then not be able to get back on the hunt immediately, if I am thinking correctly.  I think you would need to have two abandons left if you were hoping to get in on a release. (?)

You went the extra mile. :) Some regions were being restarted while I was looking, and I noticed a new Mole in the area (0 days old, and I can't remember his first name), so I wonder if he was naming them while I was there.

Thank you for the extra work. I was too lazy to get the SSPE and number. :P  There's also Blackwater Shoals, but I am not inworld now to see what the SSPE is.

Less luck more of a hobby I would say - I am looking around for a home for my main that feels right every time I think I have it - not quite. I have an alt retiring in a few weeks and can't help myself clicking away on his account. I get locked out about 4 times a week! It will end soon and I will end up being a lurker on the thread.....😊

    ...and in withdrawal. LOL.

Yes, I remember that comment about the Pickle, I think it was unnecessary. People are still responsible for what they do, if a comment about "trash" makes them abandon some place, it is still on them.

I regret a bit that I abandoned a trailer, but it's done and gone. It was all me, I decided I didn't want a trailer, until I saw what others had done with their trailer homes.

You don't think others are influenced by the negative comments? Yes, I am ashamed for letting those comments influence me into looking around more when I was fine where I was.  And yes, I am definitely embarrassed for those who have to use words such as Beth stated above.  If this were real life, there would most surely not be any negative comments about the property in the listing.

There is a big difference between just playing a hopping game and endlessly making negative comments about the rejected parcels. I assumed that @Cricket Portland meant the latter, and I agree with her. It's indeed sad to see how some continually find fault and feel compelled to criticize every little perceived "flaw" in the homes and parcels.

Personally, I don't much care how many times people throw homes back, but the stream of negativity about them is unfortunate, especially when you consider that many folks reading the thoughtless comments would dearly love to have any Belli home at all. (And of course, the Moles who build the homes and parcels can see the comments, as well, but maybe those who post them do not care.)

Yes, thank you, Sylvia.  That is what I meant, the latter.  I just decided to wave it off when I realized I was misunderstood.

I think we have to distinguish between hopping around for the sheer joy of hopping, which some are still doing, and hopping to find a better home.  If you're looking for a better home to keep, it's important to know when to stop.  Neighbors are very important.  The homes my partner & I are keeping are wonderful TO US; my favorite home in Belli was an abandon on Millers Pond.  Our build is very small, we use it as we would a cabin in Maine, you know?  It just has a great country-getaway feeling to it.  The area is pretty, and we have a water rez zone across the street.  But a veteran hopper might abandon it immediately, because it's not spectacular. Just very very nice.

We're also probably keeping the houseboat on Fourze that I made into a studio, which my partner now is doing the same with.  It's a wonderful site, with a lighthouse, next to the river down to Camperwich.  It, too, was an abandon.  Different strokes.

The Joy of Hopping has many aspects - I love hopping just to see different parcels (i LURVE looking at real estate RL), and get a rush whenever I succeed on the land page. Hopping a lot can lead to becoming jaded with certain parcel designs, and immediate abandons, which people share here in hopes that the parcel finds a good owner.  I hope readers realize that residents who are actively hopping often are playing sort of a Belli meta-game; it may have little to do with settling down into a Linden Home.  Because you are right, some of those quick abandons are great properties with terrific neighbors.

You've probably noticed that some forumites have entered a phase of settling in, letting monthly premiums expire on alts, and enjoying our toys and parcels.  I'm moving into that phase now, having a blast just hanging out in Belli, made a couple of neighbor-friends, doing more adventuring.   I've gone ATVing twice on the unbuilt land south of the campers, what a blast! My partner & I have expired two premium alts, and will another after I've landscaped one very nice parcel that I can't see keeping.  Haven't been participating in recent releases at all, so for the moment I'm no longer a hopper. That may change when new themes arise, but by then we'll probably be ready to let current homes go.  For now, I'm enjoying not know what region will release next :)

Uh oh!  Now I am enticed to get another premium!  😂

I love pools and you have one on each side of you now!  I would have added the one that you did also.  Can't have enough pools! Ha. :)

Oh wait, are you in the house or the boat?

  9. I have noticed some poo-pooing of parcels in the past and recently, and it makes me sad.  I am ashamed to say that I have been influenced by the negative comments and abandoned a few to seek something I didn't realize was out there until I read comments here. I wish I didn't because I had nice neighbors. Sometimes I feel like I am reading a private entry from someone's journal and feel embarrassed after reading what I think should be private thoughts. I might be silly, but I am in awe of each any every little thing in Bellisseria, and a big WOW and THANK YOU goes out to the Lindens and Moles.

The Lab is on Pacific Standard Time and 3:30 is 3:30.  There have been releases this late -- in fact the first one of the new weekly rollouts was close to this time --- AFTER the SL16B talk.  Most working folks don't go home until at least 5PM.

And while there is no longer a "schedule" --- it IS Thursday which isn't slated as an official release day.

Or maybe I just missed something in this conversation. If so, ignore me. Easy to do :D

Patch is on vacation right now, but if he were working, 5:00 pm SLT would be 8:00 pm EST, his time.  I think he works his "9 to 5" EST, not SLT.

Yep, alt got a HB in Chum but let it go... I always seem to catch a house ALMOST near the beach but never ON the beach. Anyway. I've noticed in both Deer Pass and Chum there was red text still on the parcel, the same as there is just before the parcels are released. That's happened twice now. My alt held onto the place in Deer Pass for several days before letting it go but even after the third or fourth day the text was still there. Not sure what the reason is?

I've also seen a LOT of abandons today, probably close to double figures; campers, houses and boats but didn't catch a single one. C'est la vie!

Was your house at the region's edge? Could it have been the text coming from a house on a next-door region that hasn't been released yet? I noticed that was the case with a house I had.

This is where I now live and why - after all those locations. This is pretty stunning area and I feel that with less LI spent on landscaping I don't miss the extra allowance! I have not decorated at all yet but I don't feel the need to do much at all to the exterior. This was an abandon (as most of my recent campers I got locked out of the release after one go because I had been scooping abandoned boats!) Abandons rule. Campers do too. I take it all back about not being interested in one because of lower allowance!

Wow, stunning indeed...and an abandon!  It looks quite peaceful.

To each their own.  I view the Campwich Forest region as a recreational area (towlines whee!) and gateway to the (elevated water) camping regions.  I think it's the only place you can sail/boat to from the rest of Belli, disembark, and travel through the camping regions without flying or TPing.  You'll be able to take a train tour from Campwich Station, once the tracks are complete!  The views along the tracks look fantastic.  You can also take a lovely horse ride from your home in Belli, over the bridge in Porthole, through the forest, and throughout the entirety of Campwich, without dismounting once.   Better pack some jerky and water.  Beautiful.

To add to this, I was riding my scooter through the dirt roads the other night as the sun was setting, and I am just in awe with what the Lindens/Moles have created as well as the residents with their unique ideas. There were even a couple trailer areas made to look a bit dumpy on purpose by the resident, and even that showed  such character. I ran into a few forks in the road where I struggled with which way to turn, afraid to miss something.  I had started from Wolfington and worked my way down, opening the map from time to time to make sure I was still headed south and yes, I did get turned around a couple times, but that just lead to more sights.  Then it got darker out and the camps started to glow with bonfires, stars, fireflies, Halloween decor, and so much more!  I was so immersed that I felt i could hear the gentle lapping of the lake and river waters, the crackling of the fires and even the scent of a cookout. Then a road led straight onto a pier over some water, which caught me off guard, and it turned out to be Lake Tatakaka, where my mouth dropped open even more. It was like I heard a chorus of angels as I approached. LOL. My trek back home was just as amazing, and I apologize if anyone has scooter tracks in their flowerbeds or grass. I could not keep my eyes on the road!  :D

  14. I have noticed with a couple of the recent releases that Patch and Derrick were nowhere in sight. I know Patch started vacation today, but I did not see Derrick as I had in the past, and I was logged out with the "You have been logged out of Second LIfe" thing that gives you the option to read IMs you may have received.  In the past, it would be the region-shaking screen telling of an impending restart.  I think to myself, "Darn, I crashed," but then gasp, realizing that it might be a release and sure enough...

Page 211, the day of Camper regions being reset and named took all the attention. 😆

I did post a picture of still unamed region in the area, a rez boat dock. Why would that dock be created to closed off canal? In Parlouf a fork in the canal goes to the sea in different directions. Why would those be created?  Rez a boat at that inland dock and sail under the Parlouf bridges to the sea.

That Wonderful Waterfall I agree, likely has to be taken out.

What??  All waterways have to end somewhere. Why would they take the waterfall out?   They would not have put it there in the first place if it was meant to be a passage.  Having the waterfall there also makes a nice swim area.

I was wondering the same thing. Sounds like more speculation to me.

Me too, but I had to ask before I commented that I don't think the Moles would put the waterfall up only to take it down later and possibly disappoint the residents there. I am happy to go back out to sea and find my way to the other side of that waterfall. :)

On the map the region names are showing without the land showing. For real, the regions are there. It's just the map is behind and doing weird stuff, which is what's being discussed I suspect.

Ohhh, okay.  I waited 10 minutes before I wrote anything in case it was lag on my end, but I still saw nothing. I speculated quietly in my head. lol
