A new real-world destination is opening up their virtual location in Second Life tomorrow. The Peale is a purpose-built museum building in Baltimore. While the current pandemic may prevent many people from visiting the Peale in person, this ambitious new project allows virtual visitors to explore the 1814 museum building online and attend curated exhibits and interactive events safely from the comfort of their homes. Spend time amongst good friends or meet new ones, soak up the sun in this tropical island paradise with its sandy beaches, romantic spots, and other various photogenic hot spots. Visit in Second Life Boulder Boulder is a natural, photogenic coastal paradise inspired by Simon's Town, South Africa, where Endangered African Penguins nest each year. Come and meet the penguins, enjoy the city, art gallery, and the seashore. All are welcome. The region is rated moderate, is machinima friendly, and you can join the group for rezzing purposes. Glinka Gallery One focuses on new art exhibitions. Glinka Gallery Two is home to the permanent collection of art and photography from previous shows. The Fibonacci Gallery is dedicated to the short-form poetry that adheres to the Fibonacci number sequence. The Frank O'Hara Building is a poetry gallery for Second Life poets. There is also the Frank O'Hara room for special events and readings. The piazza is home to Glinka gallery's resident dance group The Sway & Dance Troupe who mix choreography, music, and poetry in their very visual dance spectaculars. The gallery director is real-world novelist and poet, Wolfgang Glinka. Visit in Second Life Art Atelier Gallery At the Art Atelier Gallery you will find Contemporary Art Exhibitions by real-world artists. From August 15th to September 15th there will be an exhibition called Conversatorios (Conversations) that will be held in collaboration with the Museo Omar Reina de San Rafael (Argentina). Eight artists will be participating: Ledo Lisbeth, Carlos Ocaña, María Cantera, Antonio Camba, Irene Mancino, Leticia Rossi, Montse Bassols, and Marcela Brizuela. Visit in Second Life The Janus Gallery Curated by Chuck Clip, this gallery is named for the Roman god of new beginnings, transitions, doorways, and time. They hope to usher in a new era of art in Second Life while keeping an eye on the roots they came from. Sinful Retreat, on which the gallery stands is a virtual playground where artists are welcomed with open arms. They strive to make a cohesive, evolving environment out of art. Visit in Second Life Finally, here are some other awesome events happening this weekend: Splash! 2020 Splash! 2020 is a unique under-the-sea event celebrating mer life and culture in Second Life. Explore the art gallery, take in live dance and spoken word performances, dance to the waves of noted SL Djs, ride the Kelpy-Go-Round and win a prize! You can also practice over the jump course or jousting list and enter the competitions, and even find trivia treasure hunt objects to create a unique mer crown! Visit in Second Life Woodstockfest 2020 Join Templeton Cove Events as they celebrate their annual Woodstockfest 2020. It runs from August 15th to the 18th with live music, DJs, and performers providing a fun-packed long weekend. Come relive the magic and music of an historical event! Visit in Second Life The White Mask 5 - The Beatles The White Mask Concert event, featuring world-class concert violinist FLY and her talented musician friends: Tally Mercury, Zachh Cale, and Maximillion Kleene will take place on August 16th, 2020 from 10am to 11:30am SLT. The White Mask is a charity concert series in Second Life with a theme and realistic concert type atmosphere raising money for real-world foundations. Since it is summer, I figured why not, let us have a nice little vacation, me and Pouch (my little baby dog). So we kiss Claus goodbye and hop in the van. Beautiful trip, no issue. After a while, I decided to get out of the van to drink a bit of water and look at the map to see where I was. And poof! Mother Nature decides to play a trick on me and blows my map away!
