is probably worth doing Callu

is probably worth doing as an alternative to a security orb in a shared situation. The parcel owner could add staff/tenants/etc as an officer to the controller. The officer can then type on a channel: /1 ban Some Resident. /1 unban some Resident. /1 pass Some Resident. /1 unpass Some Resident. etc

And I thought to myself the only way such a script would probably work even if it was allowed is the owner of the Security Orb would probably also have to match the owner of parcel. But even still I don't think it's possible to script that.
is possible to script the parcel access/ban list. More Info here:

With regards to your question. There is a way to send massive amounts of streamed fragmented files to your computer once a hacker has your ip address or is in control of your viewer. I think this is a common problem as Jessie has said because if it wasn't then people wouldn't be posting help questions on second life forums and i also think that Linden Labs needs to take second life greifing and hacking a lot more seriously. If it was you griefed or hacked wouldn't you want something done about it?
if LL were to take it to the seriously nth degree then they would nerf all media functionality in the viewer. And ban all 3rd party viewers that allow users to enable RLV
as opposed to how these function now. Which is for us to not turn RLV on, and to turn media off. Which allows those who do want these things to enable them
if you want LL to take griefing seriously then they have already. In the viewer, don't enable stuff that worries you. And don't click on random stuff inworld, same way that we don't click random stuff on the internets generally

another way
integer isInt(string s) { s = llStringTrim(s, STRING_TRIM); if (llGetSubString(s, 0, 0) == "+") s = llDeleteSubString(s, 0, 0); return ((string)((integer)s) == s); }

physical coins sounds quite good for a no-HUD roleplay setting. No-mod, No-copy, Transfer coins
only thing I would suggest is a way to deal with counterfeits
if you got the coins (if mesh) and the textures - full perms and delivered to you outside of SL, then your "banker" alt account can upload the assets as the creator. Then anybody or any script could check the creator uuid of the coins

Ie to start an audio stream, only for me and not on my site I need to use llSetPrimMediaParams?
you don't necessarily need a script for an attached media-on-a-prim player
add a texture to only 1 face of a prim. Then use the Build Edit dialog to set the Media property of the texture. Wear the prim. Anyone else who has enabled Play Attached Media will hear your music also

I think flexi gets a bad rap; at least I've found a few strands of flexi grafted onto a mesh wig adds a lot for a trivial bit of complexity.
What's an absolute killer, though, is the ancient, pre-mesh practice of massing twisted, tapered tori; just a bit of that really spikes complexity -- possibly more in measure than in fact, although add some blended alpha and you can practically feel the GPU shuffling bits every time the head turns.
agree about the tori
not so much agree about the blended alpha. i have a tail. 16 flex cylinders and 2 textures for the cylinders. The effect on my FPS is about 0.1 if that

only a script owned by the parcel owner can set the music stream
if you want your own inworld music player then you need an attached media-on-a-prim player

OK, to me, even though it might be different 'under the hood'....if something doesn't have a physics bounding box, add mass, or accept collisions, and objects can pass through it, it's in a sense 'phantom'.
you are right. Its just that the way the SL physics engine works then is 3 levels of phantom when dealing with linksets
1) Phantom linkset with a physics shape for the entire linkset
2) Phantom linkset with all prims, other than the root prim, without a physics shape
3) Phantom linkset with all prims, other than the root prim, without a physics shape, and where the root prim has a physics shape and has been set to phantom
can seem kinda nit picky this. But this is a scripting forum so is a tendency to be more precise than in a general conversational forum

agree with @Fionalein
sometimes when we can't find stuff by running round, is best to let them find us. Think if it like fishing. Stay in roughly one place, zoom your camera up and wait

might be that Teleport or Move to clicked point is enabled. Teleport and Move can happen when it shouldn't when things are a bit laggy
menu: Me \ Preferences \ Move & View \ Single click on land | Double click on land. Set both to No Action if they aren't already. If they are No Action already then its something else. Toggle them just to make sure

vector vMyVector = llList2Vector( [ "<1,2,3>", "<4,5,6>" ] , 0 );
will yield ZERO_VECTOR because the values in the list were stored as strings, not as vectors. Unless you are sure that variables in a list are stored as the type you are hoping to extract, the safe way to write the conversion is
vector vMyVector = (vector) llList2String ( [ <1,2,3>, <4,5,6> ] , 0 );
this can drive people new to scripting bananas sometimes. Specially when reading stuff in from a notecard. Vectors, rotations, keys
dataserver(key query_id, string data) { mylist += [data]; }

Pinkk, please keep in mind that there are many people who feel the need to show how much they "know".
is also some who don't own an estate private region who think they know about owning an estate region when they don't
so good advice for Pinkk. Don't listen to people who think they know about stuff they have never owned

@mikka Luik
i think Attila is wanting a token exchange system, with inworld props, pouch/coins. And with HUD similar to Linden Realms meaning that there is a persistent accounting method for tokens/coins

Can somebody please interpret what this guy was going on about????
Is there some sort of left eye secret society here?????
the person is talking about Zechariah 11:17
"Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened."
the left eye is not darkened so can only see the real truth thru the left eye because connected to the right brain. Welcome! to the Illuminati

whats not clear from the script is what you trying to accomplish
you have a list of tools in Object description. Say : A,B,C,D
then you have a list of tools in glCode: Say: A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H
then a textual name for each tool in glTools: Say: Apple,Banana,Carrot, ... etc
whats not clear is what tool should be used when 'step' == 1, 2, etc
if you can tell us what the tool should be at each 'step' then we will be able to help you with the script

@Callum Meriman
agree with your view that the poem is a work of fiction and as such then am also not sure what relevance it has in a remembrance of actual people
altho now that the poem is here then the story it tells is one of regret on the part of the fictional character relating the story
fictional stories can be quite powerful sometimes in helping us to better understand our own selves where when we hold actual views similar to the fictional character portrayed. Often most powerful In cases where when we are confronted with the harsh realities of the real world and the impact that our even more harsh views can have to make things worse than they already are. We can sometimes tend to shy away from reality and the opportunity for self-reflection is lost. Fiction can sometimes help us more readily in this, or at least helps up to begin thinking about it in the first instance

In my case, the screen goes black for a bit and the viewer (Firestorm or other) crashes to the desktop. Sometimes it takes Chrome with it. (Not sure there's anything special about Chrome; there may be, but it's the most certain other program to be running on my machine.)
At that point, I can re-launch a viewer and it will connect and usually rez-in and work normally for a few minutes before crashing again. A fresh boot will get me back to normal and things work fine for days at a stretch until I run more than one viewer at once, or Firestorm.
I may eventually take you up on sending the logs -- thanks for the offer! -- just in case it helps make the program more robust w.r.t. whatever ails my machine. At some point I'll bestir myself to either wipe disk and reinstall everything from scratch, or buy new hardware (which I've eschewed mostly to avoid reinstalling everything from scratch).
about the screen going black for a bit, then sometimes crash and sometimes not. Then go good for days and then not
i had this same issue with my then NVdia 660 GTX connected via HDMI cable, to my 1920x1080 screen. The cable also carried sound to the screen's speakers. Was super annoying. I ended up replacing the HDMI cable 3 times (from different makers) until I found a cable that worked. I also disabled the HDMI sound driver, and got a separate sound card and speakers. And then it all worked. Worked meaning no more or less than expected
in the end I think it was the HDMI sound that was killing me rather than the cable. But the 3rd cable worked when the others didn't so I just kept it
not sure if you got a 660GTX over HDMI but if so then maybe can try disabling the sound driver, and/or try different cables

time limiting coins could lead you into having to deal with more drama than you might want
when people have spend time thru roleplay (worked) for the coins then they kinda get miffed when they are rendered useless
is a bit like online freeplay tournament poker. Build a mulit-zillion token stack thru playing just because we can and because is fun. Even when the max. buyin to play is only ever 1000 tokens. Having a zillion buyins which we can never actually use in a 1000 more years of playing is not the point really. Just having them is because we earned/won them
