  1. As a merchant i would have no problem refunding the additional purchases, provided the item was not a no copy transferable item, then i would need to get those items transferred back to me first. As for canceling an order I have never had occasion to try to do that. It doesn't seem like something that would be necessary, if someone wanted one item but they tried to buy it 8 times and then got charged 8 times, just send them 7 times the selling price. I think I might take advantage of the fact i know they have the money to offer them a discount on anything else they might want to compensate for their trouble.

What I don't understand is why someone would make multiple purchases when the first purchase didn't go though

  2. I did try the demo, and was able to match the size fine, it was just the color that wasn't perfect, I guess i could have tried to adjust the body just a bit to try to tweek the match, since the neck seem is less critical because of my collar. Most of the time i would be wearing the pointe toe feet i would have bare legs, such a laying on the beach, so covering the seem with a pant leg isn't going to work.

  3. I currently use a Maitreya body, with the Maitreya feet, and just use the hud to tint the body to match my system head. I am considering going to a mesh head and then using a skin so the head and body matches perfectly with no possibility of a line between the two. I was wondering if I do this would I also be able to use slink feet, and have the same skin match the feet to the leg? I demoed Slink feet a while back and never bought them because of the difficulty in getting a perfect match. I would want to be able to switch back and forth between the Slink feet and the Maitreya ones fairly easily, as I would only be getting the Slink pointe toe feet, and only using them some of the time.

Yes and doesn't it totally suck when someone in the first group falls for someone is the second group? Sucks for them i mean.

Yes the avatar as an extension of themselves people need to be very careful because they can get very hurt, the other people might not even understand what is going on. I always try to be very clear with people, that they can only get so much from me.

  5. Traffic in and of itself means nothing. Take for example a sim with one of those fishing spots or a find the coin spot, you get lots and lots of people coming and spending lots of time to make just a few lindens. You put a store there selling 500L dresses and none of those people are going to buy cause they haven't got that kind of money.

  6. I am Eastern Time, but typically am online during the day rather then evenings when most people tend to get on. I am also into exploring, photography and art. I create virtual paintings for SL by converting snapshots taken inworld to look like paintings. I will try to send you all an IM when I get back into SL.

  7. Yes that sounds exactly the way the thing I bought works, except i didnt add the different textures beforehand, and I had two different textures each of which ended up as faces in the final object. I was trying to create a frame that held three separate images, but the three images are all the same face. But this is exactly the way the the feature in Firestorm is supposed to work to, but instead of putting a script in the object, you right click and one of the options is Save, and you choose Colada, or however it is spelled and supposably it saves the .dae to your computer. Now I really want to get off work so I can get home to try this. And yes it is 8 faces that is the max that can be imported into SL

Technically they can be created inworld, if you're willing to spend in the range of L$5000 on gadgets which convert prim builds into mesh objects. However, things like that rely on external servers to generate and serve up the .dae files, so everyone who has made that purchase (including me) is at the mercy of someone else paying the server bills. I noticed a few weeks back that the reviews on the product that I purchased have gone from "absolutely brilliant" to "absolutely brilliant... when it works".

When I read this I though oh my goodness this is just what I need. So I looked it up on Marketplace and bought the demo that is 50L and lets you try it 5 times, and got around today to trying it out and discovered my new mesh object has only two faces which renders it useless for my intentions. So I was searching around on the internet trying to find out how to create an object with additional faces when I found an article on how to convert prim objects to .dae files within Firestorm without the need of any gadget. I haven't gotten back to my computer to try this out, but I am wondering is there a catch?, something that makes the 2000L gadget better than the Firestorm method? I do not plan to do anything extremely complex, just some artwork with multiple pictures, and saving that money would be wonderful.

  9. I need a table for my house and I buy a table and that table sits there as long as I have that house, and it might even get drug out of inventory for some new house in the future. I buy a dress, wear it that day, and tomorrow I look at my inventory and think, I don't have any new dresses I need to buy one.

  10. I think this issue always comes down to the two distinct groups within SL, First are those who see their avatar as an extension of their RL selves and who create an avatar and an online persona that expresses who they are. and they want to know that the other avatars they interact with are also true to the person behind them. Then the other group for whom their avatar is not intended to represent them in RL, but rather anything from some dark fantasy to a side of their RL self that they keep hidden from public view in RL. This second group is less concerned about knowing about the real person behind the avatar, because they know that their own real person isn't totally (or anything) like the avatar they use in SL. These two groups are at odds, these two groups have totally different philosophies about SL, and yet they have to co-exist alongside each other in SL.
