A non-continent. You can't see other regions. You can't walk to other regions. You can't hear other regions. There are landlords who will rent you parcels in areas like this. If you want total isolation, SL offers it. Mainland is for people who want neighbors.

Totally disagree, mainline is for those that want their own land to do with what they want.  They don't want a covenant and if they want one that is when you go rent on a private estate.  I bought mainland because I wanted my own property and wanted more prims to decorate with.  Had nothing to do with me wanting neighbors. However if you bought mainland because you want neighbors then that is reason enough for you, might not be a reason someone else might want mainland and shouldn't be the only reason.  There are many different reasons people want mainland.

I personally have never used ban lines or orbs on my mainland or LH and I most likely never will.  But as long as LL lets people have the option of using them,  they have every right to use their orbs or put up the ban lines.

I experience the same. I even advertise that my places are open to anyone and everyone. For the most part I think the majority of people are respectful and just don't bother intentionally going into someone's home. Which brings the subject of the true usefulness of aggressive security orbs (the ones set tp TP you home instantly kind.)

I have never used ban lines or security orbs on any of my properties, even mainland.  In fact I never even use to check off the privacy box.  The only reason I do in Bellisseria is because some of the furniture I like is adult.   I don't care if people come on my property and use my things.  If you can use it, go for it.  Have fun.  I am just thankful there are no ban lines in Belli.

What homes do you all think are the best spots on Bellisseria?

I personally think that this just depends on individual taste and what a person likes.  Someone might think that being on a cliff overlooking the water is the best spot, some might think nice, sandy parcel right by the water is the best spot.  Some think that a nice view surrounded by green is the best.  And another might think that being boxed in by mountains is the best spot.  At the end of the day each spot will be best for someone.

As another poster stated playing GOH has given me a chance to try different parcels and visits regions that were the first and the latest!  I have fallen in love with parcels that I didn't think were for me and even my criteria for a parcel has changed as well.  One thing that stands out for me is how unique each parcel is.  Definately not cookie cutter.

This is my current Coral Bay look:

    So...

Am I going too far with that? Have I become "one of those crazy neighbors"

That fog shows when the sun is down, and for about 1 "SL day cycle" hour before/after. It then vanishes. It's made with a particle fog emitter and stays inside the plot and at this height. It was basically an experiment to see if I could figure out how do it... I'm not deeply attached to it, no offense if I'm told "that's a bit too much".

It was inspired by visiting Pyri Peaks and finding myself in a fog.

    I think that looks great!

I don't really worry too much about what is on other's parcels.  I derender things if I need too.  My TH is far away enough from most neighbour's.  When I am at home I am only interested in what i can see within my parcel when i walk around my parcel.   Not everyone is going to decorate their yards the same way as everyone else.  And their choices might not be what I would pick, but I am sure I have things that people don't want to look at on my parcel.  If someone wants a pink palm tree with the houseboat then good for them who I am to say that it is not "in theme" or "not tasteful".   And if you want a little bit of fog then I say nothing wrong with that either.

omg - -  this is hard to believe.  My alt abandoned a Victorian home. but by the time I logged back on as LulabellsAmour the Victorian home was gone

Goodbye alt.  Did me not good to have an alt acct

willl just have to remain LulabellsAmou till a Victorian home becomes available again

I am sorry that this happened.  Once you abandon a parcel it usually goes within seconds.  Did you abandon on purpose or by accident?

  6. I have voice turned off and I only do texting.  I work in a call center and spend all day on the phone listening to people whine and complain, last thing I really want to do in SL is to talk in it or have to hear people talk.  Voice really ruins it for me as SL is my stress relief and I don't really want to hear anything other than birds chirping, water running and my wind chimes :D .  And I definately don't want to feel obligated to talk to people there either.

Now that I'm "finished", I'm tempted to try the Hardy. 🤣🙈 So we'll see how long this goes well.

The urge to copy this is strong in me!  that just looks sooooooo fantastic!  You have made the dark look very elegant.  I am so totally jealous!

  8. There are still good abandons to be had.

and after I got this one, I sent this one back to the pool:

So it just shows you that people do give up waterfront property.

I just wanna know what a tollox is...

But anyway... that's a nice location, with river behind it... am I missing something in why folks keep dumping it? The purple tree that encroaches so can be force returned maybe?

It really is a  nice parcel.  Nice view in the back with the lake right there and you can derender some of the bushes if you feel there is too many.  And it is nice and green a big plus too for me.  The land isn't totally flat in the front though there is a dip on the right hand side if you are looking at it from the street.  However those kinds of things don't bother me I can fill with rocks or other plants.

I am actually not bothered by the purple tree we will see how it goes.

The above Vic has been returned. Still showing as a Linden home, so start refreshing if you're interested! Claimed, by someone who actually named it Linden Home. D'oh!   EDIT: Abandoned AGAIN, and the same person who got it immediately after me got it again, so will undoubtedly be abandoned in a few minutes!

    image.png

That was me!  I got it the first time, but i didn't name it Linden Home, probaby cause I abandoned it so fast.  Sometimes if you release you might get another one in a different area right away, but this time I got the same one.   I am taking a second look at this one.  It is really nice and the trees well...................I just used derender for now.  I will keep it for a bit, it is an interesting parcel.

Edited to add:  if you want to look at it feel free at any time I don't use orbs.

I just got caught up on the last few hours of posts and just want to comment about the multiple accounts acquiring homes.  Folks do it in real life....celebrities for example, with their homes in various countries. Since I am an American, I think of a sandy lot as having a vacation home in a warm climate like Florida. Another home might feel like Colorado in the mountains.  My camper feels like a weekend getaway in Michigan. I haven't been able to get away on vacation in a few years, so these homes make for a nice get-away fantasy for me for the time being.

Speaking of celebrities, if I happen to see any of you from the forum in the neighborhood, I feel like I am having a celebrity sighting.  I will refrain from asking for your autographs, though. Ha.

Alrighty, thanks for reading and Happy New Year, everyone!

I love that you brought this up, cause each of my houses give me a different feel too.  I have a traditional green  and a traditional with sand both give me a different vibe.  My victorian is both sand and grass, in a lagoon area,  by the water which gives me a swampy, bayou kind of feel to it.  My houseboat is just well.............peaceful cause of all the water.

  12. I use Nam's also for daily use for decorating, demoing, etc for when I want to see things clearly.  I also like using the day cycles,  SS Atmos 6 is my favorite.  And now I have a new favorite water cause that one looks so nice!  I sometimes will try various ones, especially a bit of fog if I don't want my draw distance high or don't want it too bright.  It just depends on my mood.

  13. Yesterday I decided to try catch and release for my main with a traditional house I got in Conger Reef with one of my alts.  It's not my #1 favorite one, but it is pretty high up there and it is the type of parcel I wanted my main to have and I want to retire that alt when the premium is up on it next week.  I'll be darned if it didn't work and my main was able to catch it.  However it could have easily gone the other way, I was just lucky that the house didn't sit in maintenance.
