LL seems much less transparent on what the various algorithms
Probably because there aren't any.

SL has its own age verification in place. If someone is under 18 then they simply do not have access to adult rated places.
You or anyone else do not need to add another age verification on top of that.
You mean the part where you pick your birthday? The thing that lets you choose ANY year? LOL

What HUDs do you constantly need on your screen? The body and head HUDs should actually be removed once you are done using them. There is no reason to keep those attached all the time.
I disagree if youre changing clothes all the time. You really need that body hud to alpha your body parts with some pieces of clothing. It makes no sense to keep detaching and reattaching all the time. Just keep it minimized.

People who haven't been able to read it because its centered...why do you have to show your age by being so cranky you have to complain about the text being centered and can't read it?
Because I read it fine.
Make sure you are wearing your bifocals.
And yes, the search engine sucks.
Oh....this was also last year.

I only really need 2 HUDS....one for my body and one for my head.
OK 3...my peen HUD.
But minimized, they dont take up that much space.

It is anything but neutral if I as the parcel owner can decide for you that my place is more relevant than anothers by simply typing your search terms into my parcel name over and over again.
8 minutes ago, Extrude Ragu said:Wow, would you look at that. Thats not a glitch, thats an oversight that people have been abusing for a very long time. So not really an oversight anymore....LL simply just doesnt fix it. Its why I don't expect a lot from them and instead expect patches from actual game studios.

Still, I've never met a woman from Texas or anywhere else that went by the nickname Tex, so who knows.
I know a woman from Texas who goes by Tex.

I don't know. LL obviously has put some thought into this. That alone is an improvement compared to so many other changes they've made to the UI over the last decade or so. I know this may sound like sarcasm but it isn't.
They made UI changes over the last decade???

No, don't be ridiculous. And that's not even true. It has exactly the same problems I've discussed for a year -- and now it's worse.
The Lindens said they weren't changing search; they were changing the INTERFACE only, the UI. Therefore it isn't as if they changed algorithms that now mysteriously benefit me -- not only would the Lindens never do that; they didn't change any algorithms and explained that in their office hour with web users. So knock it off.
Yeah, it's so "clean and modern" that it shows virtually nothing -- but that's the plan, eh?
And I have many things I could point out about how terrible it is, first and foremost with the too large type, two large spacing, and 7 returns per pages which is ridiculous for any search engine.
It's as if the idea of search now is to stop people from finding things or only go to whatever is on top.
The Land & Rentals page is still very clunky and still doesn't work well and still has oddly non-working parts of it. Perhaps because they have "Land & Rentals," the Lindens removed "Rentals" as a category out of "Places" which is also an absurdity, because it is still on the about land menu. Unless they hope to delete it there, too.
Yep, if you use the interface as it is supposedly intended, checking off the boxes that appear need to be checked, you get "0" for Ravenglass. So again, knock it off. And once again, it's not about me, and the way to judge whether it is fixed is not about my little company.
It's about whether you can get clean results with exact person names in search/people and exact titles of companies or venues in search/places.
The interface can only understand "price" as something that attaches to "land for sale" status, and it doesn't work for RENT, so that typing in prices for RENT and clicking RENT means "ZERO".
We all know SL search sucks. Thats why we have Firestorm.

I like it, looks good, nice and clean, dark UI and very responsive in the viewer.
A+
Its very basic but very clean and modern, yes.
The actual search page at least.
The moment you click on search....yeah, I can see Geocities. The cluttered mess is still there especially where the classifieds are....whew. I wouldn't mind it if the bright blue classified section wasn't so in my face. Just give that search page a ridiculous loud background and youve got a geocities page.
Also, there is this: In the attached image, the letters were out of the element box. Little things like that matter to me.
Grade: B- For effort.

Yeah no, this doesn’t work for me at all….what was the selling point of this crap again? That you can drag and drop and the eep would magically appear for everyone to see and not just you?
The eep I have in there isn’t even the ones I’m currently using (I use right-click add to parcel method) and when I go to change the eep under region environments, it doesn’t change at all. It’s so stupid and highly aggravating. I would love to change my 3000m eep but can’t. -
This thread is brilliant. Lindens can't close it due to going off topic because everything in here is a stupid conversation.

Oh yes, I'm sure lots of users old and new would appreciate a one-handed navigation option and not only for drinking coffee.
I mean, some people prefer tea you know.
Thank god for that second sentence. I hope those who nosedived into the gutter are doing ok.

Since Second Life Forums runs on Invision, this is more or less an Invision Forums issue. I would request that feature with them.

That Not Found skin looks to be misleading. Probably photoshopped but no skin from that place is that white. All their skins are either shades of tan or dark.

Maybe we should ask for Dad bods or even Mom bods in the next new releases/new bodies.
No. I don't trust a single skin creator to do it right. The last attempt at a dad bod had a buff body with a belly. Absolutely ridiculous and lazy work.

I don’t care what your avi looks like as long as your product looks good. If you’re selling avatars, I’ll have way more respect for you if you’re wearing your own avatar products since it tells people you believe in and enjoy your own product.
Also, that’s a cute cat avi and yes I would do business with a cat. I’ve done business with humans, dinos, tea cups, furries, so why not a cat 😂
New Search page how to change it back?

That's exactly the problem. There should be.
Or, they can fix their search algorithm or whatever ancient thing they use.
