Simply let the market correct itself?
What market? Nothing is regulated. There's no rules. Its do whatever you want. That's why there's 565447765443366 events no matter how much people complain about it.
And guess what? Tomorrow someone is going to create ANOTHER event.... Because they can because Second Life allows it. Nobody in SL cares about oversaturation and markets. Do whatever you want. Create whatever you want. That's the whole selling point of Second Life.

Wait....wouldnt living under SL water also change the whole environment? Like, the inside of your house would have that SL water feel so...you would be basically drowning lol

8 gigs of ram for SL should NOT be the recommended or minimal requirement (its pathetically 1-4 gigs). 16 gigs should be the recommended MINIMAL requirement.

Wow. Its only just tax filing season. Calm down. He said he's paying billions this year. Patience. He has until April.

What future? Its 2022. The 80's and 90's gave us all false hope for the future. Honestly, humanity is too stupid for that kind of progress.

I also don't like some no-modify items, but I can't agree with this.
It would make the market non-profitable for scripters as it would be easy to copy the scripts.
Think of it as giving out source files (e.g. blender, maya) of all 3D models in SL. That would also destroy the market.
Might as well give out the source files when most are sold for pennies.

For clothes? Maybe, cars, guns, and other special items not so much haha.
For everything. Maybe not scripts themselves, but there are plenty of no-mod items that can and should be mod. Houses, foliage, landscaping, interior and exterior decor, art, accessories, building and structures, gaming tables, vehicles, weapons, etc etc etc.

If by "actual privacy," you mean something more like "guaranteed privacy," I think I'd agree with you. I still believe, however, that we have a right to expect, even if we don't have the power to enforce, some pretty basic elements of privacy. Yes, there are all kinds of ways that those expectations can be violated -- my clothes can be derendered, someone can cam inside my house, etc., etc. But the fact that these can be done doesn't make the person doing them any less of a jerk for all that.
It's unfortunate that, as with so many other things, the kind of security that you are talking about is only available to those with the requisite amount of disposable income.
But, speaking purely personally (because I acknowledge the right of others to feel differently about this issue), I'd feel that the kind of setup you describe would be too much like living in a gated community, or even an armed and fortified camp.
And really, that's not how I, myself, want to live my SL. So, maybe the "cost" of wanting to live a more open virtual life is surrendering some control over how much actual privacy I can expect?
Your argument is understandable. Outside of having your own region, privacy is virtually non-existent. But that is the way that it is. Its the wild west and LL created it that way.

what are potential, or even just partial, solutions to these that might be of assistance to those who want more privacy?
Rent a homestead or buy/rent a full region. Those are really the only two options people have for those looking for actual privacy. Privacy in Second Life is not free nor cheap.

Some of us, in addition to the work we do for LDPW, also help out the Governance team in moderating the forums.
We can, and do, remove posts, lock threads and and issue warnings and short suspensions from the forums, in accordance with LL's guidelines and in consultation with the Governance team.
Those guidelines are VERY vague especially regarding "flaming". Theres trolling and then there is actual criticism. You may not like it but just because you dont like it doesn't make it "flaming". You = anyone in general, not specifically you. I feel have to be super specific on these forums now...walking on eggshells and it ain't fun.

Who else remembers when "ASL?" was a convo starter? 😂

At large clubs like Exhale, people are either AFK or get hit on so much that a simple "hi" translates to "wanna do the slex?" (ladies know)... I would always start a convo with something witty and funny or even dumb as hell, preferably something I read from their profile and that usually gets a response. Thats actually how Ive made friends in here xD.

I will say my Must Have feature would be for them to provide, in detail and with reasons, why a Premium Plus member is being banned instead of deleting what you said and then telling you you broke a rule. Its too vague.
Sure, its their company but no way in hell would I pay for more while I feel silenced.
I don't even know if what I am saying is ok.

I remember when SL was like an upscale Roblox, and everyone could learn to build inworld With prims — but ppl clamored for mesh and got it. Which meant it was no longer necessary to build anything if you didn’t feel like learning 3d, but to just import and sell.
And SL shrunk.
So I am hoping for more along the lines of making SL more accessible and bugs fixed rather than more new bells and whistles.
You either flow with the times or get left behind. Prims are primitive and very unattractive. Second Life could benefit from mesh tools, replacing prims.

Oh man.
Back when I was still noobish, I had rented out half a sim. The other half belonged to a shemale beach resort. I started setting up the house and then when to bed. I logged in the next day to find a slew of people from the other side in my swimming pool. I told them that I owned this half of the sim and they were in my pool. They apologized and left....well most. I figured the ones left behind were afk so I kicked them out. Once they came back from being afk, they didnt like how there were removed and left me some not-so-nice messages. I laughed and put up ban lines. These people really attempted to fly over the ban lines for days. I got fed up and installed machine gun turrets along the border, set each one to 100 meters, turned them on.
My god, I have never been so amused in my life.
These turrets not only began shooting them out of the sky and sending them back to wherever their home was set to, but each time a bullet hit, there was blood and gut splatter and soon, their entire half of the sim was covered in blood and guts. Whoever ran the shemale beach resort eventually contacted me and we struck a peace deal.
