  1. You are not given a $5/month credit or bonus as a premium account holder. You are given an allowance of 512 m parcel, tier-free for being a premium account holder. The difference is your understanding of what your premium bonus is. If you want a total of 1024 m, you are still given the first 512m tier-free; you only have to pay tier on the remaining 512m.
  2. The problem you have with custom alphas using mesh body huds is the same problem RLV (or any third party scripting) has: they have no way to access or communicate with these huds. The way RLV has been evolving to work with this is basically to mimic the manner in which you can change outfits by dropping a folder on your avatar - meaning you can do this manually just as effectively. Create as many copies of your avatar and custom huds with appropriate alpha settings as you need to work with each outfit you have. Let your outfit folder contain the entire avatar and hud along with each outfit and change everything, avatar and all, with each change of the folder you wear.
  3. Pamela Galli wrote: I dont believe I have come across any RP businesses. The only ones I know of, people give their owners real Lindens, which to me makes it a real business. Seems a RP business would pay pretend money. Going strictly by definitions, I'll have to agree you are right. I consider it RP if the reality is nickels and dimes paid instead of real world living wages. Surely this isn't a real job is it? I think it would be illegal in many countries.

I just need a few min a day perhaps , Just want them to be on alot if i need them more longer for the future and to be able to tell them my hours as it happens if possible, I doubt this would take more than an hour , could even be 15 min utes to finish what i ask, thanks for your unpleasant sarcastic price of pay like anyone is paying that for a job, and thanks for your non support. and unrealistic ideas about what I am offering and have written. Of course people are paying that for a job, and truly, much more. I think many around here are likely to give away 40 cents to a couple bucks regularly, out of kindness, without expecting anything in return. Perhaps there would be less confusion if there were two different Inworld Employment sections. This one seems to often be used both for real world employment within or related to Second Life, and roleplay employment (make-believe). Your posts come across now as a mixture of both - real world expectations and make-believe payment. It is hard to guess exactly what might be required, but it seems a lot like a real world secretary position. There is an abundance of roleplay businesses in SL and there is nothing wrong with that by itself. The problem is the rampant blending that has become commonplace among so many. That doesn't make it right, acceptable, or able to be easily ignored.
  5. Frankly, this sounds like a good reason for yet another support ticket, to see if Lindens can return your objects. It also sounds abusive. The land owners are very much aware of your situation and they also know you are in innocent party. There is no reason for them to hold your objects ransom in exchange for your business. Just the fact that they would do this is reason enough to never rent from them or from anyone else who rents from them. There is always a possibility of real life emergencies concerning your landlord however, this really is the type of thing a responsible business should have prepared for. In any case, this doesn't excuse the landowner's behavior.
  6. My tier date is the same date I became premium. I have no idea how anyone's can be different from that. Chic Aeon wrote: Just wanted to note (and I just skimmed but didn't see it mentioned) that #1 Tier goes retroactively so in order to have reclaimed your tier from the group it would have needed to happen a month(ish) ago. And if you give up premium you will get charged for the last month of land use AFTER you give up your status. So you need to give up your land a month before leaving (friends learned that the hard way). That last was mostly a general comment, not to you but important to know. This is very confusing to understand exactly what you are saying, but it looks as if you are making the same claim that Bee made which is not correct. The confusion that causes you to owe more than expected is related to the actual dates (and the order of transfer sequence) that you/your group actually held land in relation to the tier being applied. You cannot have tier donated to a group at the same time you try to use it for land that you are personally holding. This is the error for which most people fall victim. They attempt to buy land first and then deed to group when the group already held all of the tier they expected to be applied. Even a few seconds for the transaction is where the unexpected charges take place. Nor can you buy back land from the group before having the tier available personally rather than donated to the group. It does not matter if the group held less land than donated tier allowed; it is still donated to them and accounted for as square meters the group has reserved room to obtain. You cannot buy land towards this tier unless done inworld, in which case you must use the Buy for Group option (which is not available from the auction). Once you reclaim tier from a group, it is available for your personal land holding usage immediately. Not a single second before, but yes, right away, without needing to wait a month before using it toward land you wish to purchase.
  7. With whatever happened to you back then, there was either a bad communication of events from the lab to you, a mishandling that wasn't explained well, or something along those lines. It likely isn't even possible for anyone else to say exactly what happened without seeing more details than you could or should share here. I am sure it does not work this way for any time I have purchased from the auction, and as Prokofy noted, it does not even make sense. There is no way I can see that LL could justify this in any explanation of how land tier payments are figured. As confusing as it is, they still have the way it works spelled out so that it can be predicted. Unexpected charges come from the reality that they never lower your tier level automatically - neither from what you choose in your account settings, nor what you donate to groups, even if you or the group do not need that level of tier. They will however, automatically raise your tier level when you buy from the auction if you do not have enough available which is not donated to a group. Once you possess the land, the tier level to allow for it is already decided. You can deed and donate tier accordingly to what you have. To take full advantage of the group bonus is not so easy when you are against your limits while buying from auction. One simple way is to have a friend (or alt) with available tier to donate temporarily, for the little time it takes between buying and deeding to make up the difference between what the group can hold that an individual cannot.
  8. It might be possible that it can fail if the group is already deficient on donated tier; it would make sense that sometimes trying to deed land and tier at the same time could hang up if there is already a flag on the group having too much land. I've never had a problem with contributing tier at the same time. It has always worked for me.
  9. I will add that while I don't really like to see the land market working the way it does either, it's hard to say it is wrong. If you are qualified to buy it outright from a private seller, you also could have bid at auction. But beethros, you are in error on an important point. It is correct to say that you cannot buy land at an auction for a group. If you don't have the room at your available tier level when you purchase, yes, you will automatically be upgraded to the next higher level if you win the auction. Where you are incorrect is believing that you must wait until after your tier date before contributing it to a group. I have done this plenty of times already. When you deed land to a group, you are able to donate the tier for the group at the same time - the simultaneous action is one of the options when deeding the land. The only way this extra charge happens is if you have tier donated to a group that you need for your purchase at the time of this purchase.
  10. Extra closing parenthesis also, but - I am surprised it compiles with a float data type taking a vector input, yet it does. Will it always interpret as 0, no matter which floats compose the vector?
  11. Nice explanation there, Quie. If I may, I would mention one more step because of a bug (whether SL related or specific to Firestorm, I'm not sure). Most likely you will not see the correct link numbers identified until you take it back into inventory and rez it again.
  12. Not dumb, if always learning (as we all should be doing). I was guessing mostly a language problem, which anyone would have a hard time working their way around.
  13. On second thought, I'll give it a try. The OP's problem had nothing to do with reading the scripts, although it was mentioned that it might be needed to figure out what was wrong. The problem was making their own build work with the scripts as they were. This is a common occurance with OpenCollar - others like to use their own objects with the scripts provided. Technically, it was not a scripting problem at all; it was a building problem. And for a specific set of script products. The earlier posters gave correct answers for the previous versions; my answer was only for the latest version.
  14. I'm sure Rolig can explain it to you when she makes it in.
  15. Then again, it is drastic compared to what changes were in the past. You can no longer simply update any version 3.x or below to v 4. The scripts have all be rewritten. There is no more building up on or adding to scripts created before modern lsl functions existed.
  16. It can't be all that drastic; others have still been creating their own using the scripts, but you will have to pay attention to how they are put together if this is your choice. They still have a selection of models already created that anyone can use as well. The purpose for specific link numbers for multiple scripts using link messages makes sense when you realize that all scripts no longer have to answer every call just to figure out for which it is intended. As for the physical object, I believe this is the only main difference. Altogether the goal is to have a product much more economical in resource usage. Whether or not they went overboard, it's hard to criticize the goal.
  17. Open Collar scripts always have been, and still are, full perm, open source under GNU license.
  18. Of course it will be called. Curly brackets are only optional for those single line statements, not required.
  19. Before anyone can give a correct answer, you have to realize the differences between versions. The newest version of OC (v 4 and above) which are only newly released, are created completely different than the earlier versions. The reasons are mostly to take advantage of efficient designs which were not possible in its earlier days. Specifically to keep their scripts from all having to listen to each call from all others to see which one(s) it might be for, they have separated them into different links. You will have to pay strict attention to link numbers and names and the scripts must be correctly placed. This is not the same as it has been in the past. I don't see where you mentioned which version you are trying to modify, but it really will be easiest to use one of their inworld groups to get information for your specific version needs.
  20. I believe the right word is Donors. Investing is something done when there is a profit expected. Profit from clubs in SL is largely a dream to many, but a reality to no one. Ask those who operate the longest running clubs in SL. I am sure they will tell you that they do it for their own reasons, and profit is almost always nonexistent.
  21. It might also be a good idea to edit their name in the OP with astericks to prevent disciplinary action against your own account
  22. I can see where Madelaine's response might come across as more friendly, but it is also fair to say that Pamela said the same thing. She used different words, but it also highlighted a point that should not have been overlooked. One thing that is against ToS, and also overlooked: specifically using someone's avatar name here and making any type of accusation at all to defame them. As a matter of fact, outing another's alts without their consent doesn't sound like a good idea either
  23. There's no reason for anything to change on the Marketplace about them. No matter what laws or rules change, they are still for sale - legally. There is also no reason to try passing the blame to someone else for you not knowing laws and regulations.
  24. It is ok to own and use them provided you follow skill gaming policies (gaming region, doc's, and all), legal requirements, etc. Were they expensive? How much would you spend on something like that without knowing what it was?
