Hi everyone!!! i'm in my 2nd week at SL and learning a lot - soooo much i dont know of course, years and years. TY to all the super helpful ppl ive already met - you guys have been great!!!!! i did a search on safe homeless places for kids (i'm 10) and found Camp Soggy Padding, but no ones here. is there a good place (thats not adult, obviously) to just hang out, that at least has some ppl to talk to? Aislin, your right, i just joined 2 groups and "Dead Dolls of SL" is the one. but other than leaving the group i don't know how to get rid of the text. I can see it in the "Title" of the group, for the Role of "Everyone". But in my Profile, then Groups, i see no option to turn it off (your reply said to select "None", but i dont see that). i appreciate all your help, and have a great SL day!!! :matte-motes-little-laugh:

Hi everyone! i am here a week now and notice i have "Spooky Cute" hovering over my avi in-game. how can i edit that? i read the HUD faqs but they talk about product's huds. i dont see a way to edit that in my profile/appearance menus. thanks for the help!

Yes, i like hearing all the different perspectives from you all - thnx! and yes, i certainly wont change my avi (still not sure what the 'i' on that means, but oh well) because i get flak, not that any of you are giving me flak. :matte-motes-silly: as to why adult male + child seems creepier than adult female + child, yeah, its just that where i come from you hear alot more about men being the worst kind of predators then women. i know its possible with either, but when i picture it only the man seems creepy. i'm glad we don't all assume the worst in everyone. and hopefully things are getting better. so shoot me down for being an optimist. :catwink: do you all have so much lag in SL? its so hard for me to do much w/out getting like majorly frustrated. like i try to walk and my av (avi?) just keeps walking in place after getting to where i clicked. and the cameras a friggin nightmare - dont get me started.:smileymad: i have good internet. what is up?

Hmmmm, i hadn't thought at all about how other ppl would feel, as an adult avi hanging out with a kid avi. When you write it out it does sound strange, and totally creepy if it was a guy adult avi. that's a really wierd thing now that you mention it. makes sense. :matte-motes-impatient:

Yes so far - this is my first look at anything like this, 5 days in. from reading here it seems that actual RolePlaying is done in sims, that out in 'regular' SL you are just yourself, just with whatever avi you want to look like. i didn't join to RP. i've never RP'd before; i'm not sure what that actually means. like murder-mystery stuff? dungeons and dragons? not sure if were supposed to talk about RL, (god knows aren't we here to get away from all that???), but anyhow my RL sig. others say i have the mentality of a 10 year old, so i guess it would be easy enough to RP that. but i plan to pretty much just be myself, exploring a cool new world. i think we can do this however each of us wants. i may not have many friends because of my avi's age, and i now am starting to get that, and that's cool. if land-owners don't want kids around thats their right - i hate screaming kids in resturants too. funny though i've not actually seen a kid here at all. i did see a weasal(?) - not sure if it was a person or not. i've been reading the other threads here of ppl saying the same thing i'm seeing, that it's cliquey and there are the elitist holier-than-thou snobs, and nothing seems to actually be going on, and people are off in la-la land. so basically its just like anywhere on the internet or RL. lolz But there are lots of cool nice ppl here too. :matte-motes-little-laugh: i did think the age thing wouldn't be an issue in the slightest; that ppl who are here are open minded to however you perceive yourself, be it big small furry whatever, as long as yer respectful to others, and i know i am.:matte-motes-nerdy:

i like adventurey books, like Hunger Games and Harry Potter (who doesn't, lol). i thought too much talk about how many pieces of rabbit and berries in HG though... just get to the games already!!! i'm didnt like Twilight - i should have, but i didn't. and those movies suck. actually i guess i'm more into writing than reading other ppls stuff though. and no, i'm not an author (yet), so you haven't read my stuff.
