The trad was in Yellowmarsh.... it's a cute one that backs up to train tracks and some water..... I released it back into the pool

Oh cute! I'm sure someone will appreciate it! Water views are pretty popular (or used to be, I've no idea, things could have changed while I've been away. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong).

EDIT: Camper is back. 11pm (?) SLT

EDIT EDIT: Now a trad. Just after 11pm SLT.

Now a camper and log home! Yeegads!

Yep, not there now. I just refreshed. But was there a long while!

Also, wish I had something to report so I don't get accused of derailing this thread or something, but sorry, nothing new to report.

EDIT: Log home again, 5:35am SLT.

We are humans behind these keyboards too.  Being antagonistic does not further your request.

To confirm, the reason it will not get a sticky is due to the suggestion of automation against our systems and the strain it was causing.  We had to make changes to protect our systems against that once already, and we'd like to not have to re-visit that.

If someone would like to re-create a cleaned up version of this, I'd certainly entertain putting a sticky on it for a while.  🙂

This is good to know, thank you @Patch Linden. 😁👍

I've just returned from a break, so if it hasn't been done already I could recreate the thread, but if someone else has beaten me to it that's good too.

  4. I was excited at the start and eagerly looking forward to this. Now I'm in two minds about it.

SL is a luxury that I've been happy to pay but honestly it's getting... frustratingly expensive. With the Aussie dollar as it is and not expected to improve any time soon I'm not sure I can really justify spending $62 AUD for a virtual name in this current climate (especially with the cost of groceries here going through the roof. $10 for a head of lettuce?!, $25 for 4 toilet rolls!!). Adding to that I have to admit I am un-enthused about the names on offer that are far too "quirky" for my tastes. I really don't know which way to go.

It would have been nice to have a one-time name change included as part of the Premium membership plan before you start to pay but that was never on the cards, and it has to be remembered that LL is a business. I completely get that. In the grand scheme there are bigger things to worry about but still, trying to see how far this luxury budget can stretch is a major buh-mer. 😑

Not posed, nothing fancy (unless you class a border as fancy) but I was so excited I had to post this. It was taken with my best friend (real and virtual) in Builder's Brewery this morning. We met seven years ago here in SL, and while we happen to be on opposite sides of the planet and regularly stay in touch via email, WhatsApp messages, videos etc it was awesome to finally catch up again real-time in world. We talked on voice for literally hours for the first time in at least six months, maybe more. So while I haven't changed my clothes since my last pic (just removed the glasses and changed my eyes back to brown - for now) I just had to share. 😊

  6. Nothing's changed for me. I'm still in my Well Springs home as  I have been since that region was released several months ago with no plans to move any time soon.

I will admit I was tempted to test run the log cabins if only short term, for a month or so just to get a change of scenery if nothing else. I absolutely loved the environment shown when I visited the RFL display but most of the homes themselves (while gorgeous) are too big for my personal taste, as were most of the Victorians before them. Before recent world events I had entertained the idea of bumping my house hunting alt back up to Premium but since my finances are now considerably strained I can't justify doing that.

My current home has felt right since I caught it and it ticks all the boxes I had when originally trying to catch a Linden Home; beach, sand, well landscaped. The fact I only have one neighbour beside me is definitely a bonus too (as I get more uninterrupted ocean views). On top of that it was hinted a while ago on a Lab Gab episode that the LDPW may go back and add something as a surprise to the Traditionals (the idea was suggested that a couple of other style homes may become available from the Traditional mailbox) - and while that won't happen any time soon I'm intrigued to see what that is, if it even eventuates. As much as I like the idea of seeing what's out there I know I would absolutely kick myself if I lost my land and later discovered I could have had a different home style on it. Of course that's no guarantee. And while I occasionally see a home on my explorations and get home-envy at the end of the day I like my home where it is now and I feel settled where I am.

Regarding decorating, I used to redecorate a lot. This current set-up is probably the longest time I've ever left my interior alone in any home I've ever had in SL without redecorating except for adding or editing the occasional object. To me that in itself says a lot. I spend a lot of time at home too not just when I am AFK or on the Marketplace or on external programs. As crazy as this sounds I actually enjoy just spending time at home even if all I'm doing is sitting with Riley or the occasional friend. Full credit to the region landscapers; it's a lovely place to just sit and do nothing in (just watch the water and hear it with a parcel-restricted sound orb rezzed in the back yard). As odd as it sounds with the real world a little unstable right now at least there's peace in the familiarity of my virtual world.

    TL,DR: I'm staying where I am.
