Random spin GAMBLING machines have been banned in SL forever - they are now skill games. Pay to play skill games can not be pure random chance.

i said that related to the gacha fatpacks. some people used gachas just for fun as they "strolled by" and just took a draw/spin at them and "took what they got". If they would now have the choice of either buying overpriced FATPACKS or nothing, guess what most will go for now...

They're just going to sell "fatpacks" of gacha now for like 5,000L like other people have been doing already after gacha events passed before . You win some , you lose some I guess.

"lose some"? people which might wanted to play 100L$ for fun for a random spin for a random avatar have now to pay for something they dont want. nice.

Spin the random wheel to win a random prize?  You doing double gacha now? 😂🤣
ooh that is evil - 'gacha inception'

i mean it could be another game where the chances to win a prices are at least "ok" but what price is kinda random i guess. I mean spin the wheel was only the first i had in mind since i somehow got wheel of fortune in mind XD

There are actual cases of kids choking on them. It is there to minimize the damage. Its not stupid reason >.<

im sorry but everyone knows that they are toys inside. those toys are even (at least here in germany)special packed in yellow plastic within the choco egg. that the toy inside is "that small" should be common sense and knowledge at this point.

Srsly, its like the people which complain about that they burned their hand by touching the HOT COFFEE MUG (or better, if they try to drink said coffee and burn their lips) they just orderd at Burger King. What did they THINK they get IF they LITERALLY ORDERD "HOT COFFEE IN A MUG"? COLD ICE TEA?  People sometimes...

  5. i think the more i talk and see and look into the topic - and actually think about how losely this rule is - its getting out of hand. it should really be explained what "counts" as gacha in LLs standart now since i already read some things where it could count as gacha but "isnt one":

    - breedables (some at least)

    - collecting-/trading cards

    - black/blind box sales

    - fishing games

So yea...i think, as i said already, LL should make the rule WAY more specific. As i said already there:

This sounds like the Powder boxes - I think that is what they are called.  They contained skins & makeup, I think.  One of those that is still going now puts out pictures of everything in the box so that you can decide if you want it.  If any of them do not put out pictures, they will be banned because of the 'random' stuff.

I saw such events mostly in clubs for escorts like:

they were x boxes which had a colord item inside. costumers buy them for X price to get the colord item but they DONT KNOW which the color will be they end up with (aka they will get an random color). each color in the boxes will be in there only ONES - so to go with a simple sample: they are 3 boxes. one box will contain a red item, another a blue and the last a yellow item BUT you dont know which color will be inside so you end up buying one and end up with one random.

after those boxes are sold, there will be a second pair of the same amount of boxes which will have the same colors as well (to go with the sample: another pair of 3 boxes with the same colors, random). those boxes will be taken by the escorts and they will end up with their own random color.

at the end the costumer will have "his time" with the escort which pairs up with the same color if that explains the event well. so the costumers will pay for a random color and so the escorts will end with a random one as well.

With Kinder Surprise it's assumed they're bought for the candy and the toy is just a little random extra. The SL equivalent would be something like buy an outfit, get a random colored handbag with it.

Also since these are generally bought by parents for very young children addiction isn't really an issue.

you do know they are collectors and cataloges for "how much is this toy worth" things, right? No im srs, they are a lot collectors over here and cataloges for such little egg toys, its like collecting stamps.

  8. i actually got another legit question in mind: how does that effect black/ blind box sales (i hope people know such things) since youre basicly paying for something you see but it will still be random. does those count as gachas as well now?

our link takes me to a page with lots of listings, so no clue what specific item you meant to link to.

If feeding is truly tied directly to breeding and not to just stay alive, then there might be an issue - since the outcome of the breeding will be random.  I apologize for making an invalid assumption about the feeding. I did say in multiple posts that my comments applied directly to KittyCats as I have no specific knowledge of other breedables.

and thats what i tried to say, SL is just to big to know "all things". My breedables i know were the "Fennux" which...

    - can life without food endlessly

    - WILL be sick if you dont feed them (and way less active)

    - CANT BREED if they are sick

    - Can ONLY BREED in the first view days of their lifecycle IF they are NOT SICK

    - can be turned into pets if you dont wanna breed/feed them for an extra price

Again try to check them out, they are called "Fennux". were kinda fun as they were new tbh (and kinda cute).

Try to spin it any way you want, but the buying of the food is not in any way a gamble on anything.

No becourse i linked you ONE breedable which needs the food NOT to stay alive BUT to BREED and to BREED only. If you dont feed them they will be "sick" and not able to breed and since they get old they can only breed a "limited time" of their ageing - like i said, i guess it was just the first 50 days of their lifetime.

So if you only go for the breedables YOU KNOW (which i dont know you are talking about, maybe some i dont know) than ok, YOUR THING but SL is BIG and as seen in this thread, a lot people dont see the problems this gacha rule will create since some people just doesnt know what will count as gacha or what not - like said breedables, 7seas fishing game (as one other sample) or simple collecting cards.

    AND AGAIN

You are paying for food to keep the critter alive.  It is you CHOICE whether or not to actually breed the critter.  You can simply feed it and keep it as a pet, without any breeding.

    The breeding part is OPTIONAL.

    AND AGAIN

srsly where is the sense of "breedables" if you dont breed them? Its literally IN THE NAME.

    STOP. hold it.

    there. have fun.

In other words: if those dont eat, they dont breed. and they are only able to breed in the first 50 days (or they might changed the limit, duno, didnt used them for a long time now) but if they dont eat in this time, they will never be able to breed. ever.

Technically, you are paying for the food, to keep them alive and healthy, regardless of how you choose to view it. You can choose whether to breed them or not. It's not the random baby you're paying for. And, when you buy an animal on the market, you know what you are getting.

well what you said could be technically said by every creator which runs a gacha. no im srs here, think about that.

Yes I've seen trading card games that literally prey on children.

Happy to see that gone from here. What started as a few gumball machines turned into a massive problem, and now it's not. Shame it had to end this way but, well, it wasn't going to end any other way, was it?

legit question: are "Kinder surprise eggs" (you know this little candy eggs for children 51mJSmrO+jL._AC_SX466_.jpg) are a thing at your place? If not, oh boi.

You pay for the food and know you're getting food. At no point are you directly paying for a random item. Breeding a breedable in and of itself doesn't cost anything.

    again:

The breedable NEEDS the food to be ABLE to breed (aka "getting in the mood", they will die without it or similar, a lot breedables have that). So yes, technically you do pay for it to be ABLE to breed coz else a breedable might die or cant breed at all.

  16. 6 minutes ago, Toothless Draegonne said:

Yes. You absolutely will be getting the same quality from the exact same items. And what's more, the people selling their items will be doing so without supporting an army of voucher touts that do literally nothing but take money out of the hands of the people that made the items.

    Next question?

im sorry to tell you but i think this thinking is very very naive.

As i said, think about card games in real life.
A booster pack is maybe 12-20 bucks and you get some random cards but if you go and wanna buy a "specific card" guess how much you have to pay for. If its a rare card, you can guess how much already.
