  1. Please don't ever give anyone the login to any account you hold. Violation of terms of service or not it's just a reallly, really stupendous bad idea. Keep your login details to yourself.

There are ways to organize for someone, via Skype screen share and others but always make sure you understand the implications and actively monitor anyone you let into your machine in that way.

  2. I have only recently started really forcing myself out every day into clubs and such. I am not exactly shy, not exactly socially awkward, but really my own personal mix of a variety of issues that have mostly kept me to IMs and hiding alone on my platform. I dont always hang around out and about much but i try to do it often enough to start to break me out of my shell.  I am always happy to have company along on some of my club excursions. Just give me a shout in world. :  )

  3. Both the underlying media engine and the underlying web browser or changed out to address the security holes. I don't know if any specifically that still exist but the main ones that existed because of the use of Flash and QuickTime have been fixed.

  4. If it was me...I would save my money and wait until you can afford a upper tier body and not skimp. You want something well supported but clothing, skin and other creators. If it means sticking with a system head for a while do that and then get the mesh head later. It just doesn't pay to go cheap on mesh body parts.

  5. Depends on the place and how busy it is. If the event is super laggy and busy I will take them home. If its less busy I will demo on the spot. I try not to end up naked but it really doesn't bother me if the timing gets off a bit. When I go away from a store/event to demo i go to the platform i have on my land that i use for sorting/inventory stuff.

  6. hi there. I am guessing what you need to do after you click Buy Now is scroll WAY down to the bottom of the page. You will see a Place Order button. Click that to continue. When your cart contains only free items, Linden Lab offers suggests of other items for you to add.

You are not seeing the point here. The fact at hand why this is something LL has to comply to, is that LL is handling EU Data, which falls under EU laws. Digital property does not stop at borders.

The fact that they are in the US does not change that fact. If LL wants to handle EU Data, LL needs to adhere to EU laws about data, simple as that. If LL does not comply to the EU law about that, LL is not allowed to handle EU data. Whether you give the data to them willingly does not even matter in this case.

Because of this law you as a EU citizen (for now at least), can request a transcript of the data LL has on you, and you can request to be erased completely from their systems.

The real question isn't whether or not LL is covered by it. They absolutely are in terms of data related to EU citizens. The question though is one of compliance. It is just very difficult to enforce a law when the organization doesn't directly operate in your jurisdiction. Compliance though is almost certain to happen. Linden Lab knows that if it doesn't already operate in the EU it may in the future and gaining access will be challenging if they have unresolved GDPR complaints.

I will be curious to see if some US companies (I don't think LL is someone that will do this) won't simply take any GDPR privacy requests as an opportunity to simply package up and delete the content along with the requestors account. Writing off the potential customer. I personally feel the rule is good in principal but generally over reaching and with an outrageous set of penalties for non-compliance.

  8. The important distinction in terms of making GDPR enforceable outside of the EU is not whether the citizens of the EU make use of something (clearly LL has many customers in the EU) but rather whether or not LL does business in the EU. A EU citizen on Second Life is doing business with Linden Lab, not really the other way around. Does Linden Lab have offices, pay for hosting or services, or otherwise engage in business in the EU? Amazon, Facebook, Google and other huge internet services have actual commerce in the EU. They have offices and permits to operate in those countries. They comply because they can be sued easily there, have assets frozen there. A US (or any other foreign company) simply doing business with citizens of the EU should comply but enforcement becomes far more difficult since very few US courts are likely to recognize the jurisdiction of the EU over a US company. I suppose they could block access to Second Life servers. I don't know if LL has actual business interests in the EU. I am pretty sure they have something in Great Britain.

  9. I can help. First thing you are going to need is a skin applier to match the skin you use on your body. Most skin stores now will sell dedicated Catwa, or at least omega appliers for the head. Check with the shop you got your skin from and grab some demos (alway always demo) to see which skin you like. Skin appliers can make a HUGE difference in how you look. Feel free to shout in world if you have questions.

  10. yea in this case the applier is old, meant for the Chinchilla furry avi with some options to tangos. With the Omega relay, the Tango applier was working on her top but not bottom. She obtained the textures, but i really am not certain they will work on the lara body when they were designed for the chinchilla.

  11. so at some point you must have bought an applier for your maitreya body that made the skin change to the texture we see on your top. You need to reapply that. what you might try, rather than possibly trying to trouble shoot is just get a redelivery (or open another copy) of your Maitreya body and start over applying the skin etc. I am not in world at this time of day, but your welcome to shout if you run into issues and I can try to help when I am in world.

In the mean time though you need to find the applier that changes your skin to what you want and maybe grab a new copy to start fresh with.
