  1. Each time my V2 is updated by auto-update my graphics settings are reset to what Viewer 2 thinks I would like and a lot of my settings, for example options not to view various prompts, are deleted. Is there some reason why settings can't be preserved on update? Or am I doing something wrong?
  2. I'm seeing this too. Interaction with in-world objects is fine, and inventory operations are as fine as they ever are. The problem for me at any rate - and it's really only a minor one - is that the response to clicks in the inventiry window is sluggish. If I click on an inventory item I can count to 5 (max) before the green highlight bar appears there. The little buttons at the foot are sluggish too. I'm pretty sure this is new in 2.8.
  3. Just to answer my own question in case anyone else has the same problem, switching off anti-aliasing brings shadows back.
  4. I lost shadows with 2.7.4 and I don't see them again in 2.8. To be precise, I do see shadows, but they don't relate in any way I can see to the objects that might be shadowed. Not sure if this is my graphics card as they seem to work for others, details are: Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA CorporationGraphics Card: GeForce GTS 250/PCI/SSE2 Windows Graphics Driver Version: 8.17.0011.9621OpenGL Version: 3.2.0 Otherwise 2.8 seems a considerable improvement over its immediate predecessors, though I find the user interface has become very sluggish, though rendering peformance is fine. I click on an inventory item and can count to 3 before it responds.
  5. 2.7.5 doesn't seem any better; still lots of video problems, prim counts missing. And now of course 2.7.3, which worked really well, isn't supported. I know it's possible to switch to 2.8 but I've tried to persuade people in our community to use Viewer 2, and now I'm deeply embarassed that they are being sent releases that barely merit beta status.
  6. Some kind of TBD is being rolled out on Magnum as I type. Can we have some release notes please?
  7. I would be happy if it came with an assurance that QA had been tightened up to prevent releases like 2.7.4 from being released again. So far as I can see it has been shipped with a load of known bugs that are fixed in later releases simply to satisfy some kind of release schedule. I'm delighted that all is well in 2.8 but is it really sensible to have the beta release more stable and functional than the official one? Or do the developers simply not understand code branching?
  8.
