  1. I've been going through my inventory of Ye Olde Stuff (and deleting about two thirds of it), and every now and again I find something that I want to keep.
(dress: Last Call - Awards Show (2008), hair: EMO-tions Shari (2011), make-up: Grixdale Fiji (2011). Still pretty, I think.)

  2. I don't often shop shop unless I am looking for something specific, but I am a serial hunter / gift shopper (I was so annoyed that I was away for the better half of December! All the prezzies!), which often leads me to shops where I find other things I like which to buy.

(I saw the other day that have items in my inventory from Twisted hunts from a few years ago that I never even opened.)

  3. Thanks for your replies!

I've put a ticket in for the (oddly shaped) abandoned parcel next to mine, and now I'm hoping. I have plans. :)

I don't really want to move, I like my roadside place... fingers crossed.

  4. I'm sorry to dredge this topic up, especially given the absolutely fabulous derail above, but have things changed since last October? I was under the impression, given the knowledge base article below, that if you submit a support case, they can sell it to the resident direct, especially if they already have a neighbouring parcel (someone abandoned the parcel next to mine on Mainland (Jeogeot) at the end of the year and I'd like to get that if possible). Anyone have any experience in this? Am I better off looking for a larger parcel elsewhere?

it's "no transfer" for a simple reason.. you can't sell or give it to somebody else, the system will simply refuse that.
Also, not all "transfer" items are allowed to sell or give to others, if right thats mentioned in the notecards you got by buying the items.

Ah, that's what I was afraid of. It's not like I wanted to make money off of this, but I hate throwing stuff away, even if it's "just" pixels. :) Thanks for the reply!

  6. I am currently weeding out my inventory, and instead of deleting everything that isn't "me" any more outright, I was wondering if there is a way to sell no transfer items in an in world "garage sale" of some sort? (I go on too many hunts...)

    Any assistance gratefully accepted. :)

  7. Category is: Post-apocalyptic realness (after a few years when things have settled down a little).
My piece of mainland - a greenhouse with a chatting area on top, a garden, a tree house - and a giant antenna to communicate with other survivors. Also featuring a writing hang-out where my bud and me meet to write murder mystery fanfic.

It's not finished yet, but then, when are these ever.

I have my inventory organized with very descriptive folder names like "Stuff" "Junk" and "More Stuff"

I have folders  for years going back to 2015, with numbered subfolders for months... all of them with stuff I've not unpacked yet.
You don't even want to know how many items I've got in there. :D

  9. If I may reawaken / slightly derail this post - In a recent job application for a teaching position in a study group (with adult and child avatars), I have been asked to "emote" how I would deal with a situation.

Now, so far I have seen "emote" in the context of the above - in dance clubs etc. Is "emote" used in RP contexts as well? And is it the usual "/ me" thing?

(11 years and I still feel like a newbie sometimes...)

  10. *wonders* Is this the reason why I sometimes see people who appear naked to me? Even when everything else is rezzed, they don't seem to be wearing any clothes, even in general sims / shops (and no, I don't think it's because they are nudists).

  11. That's a nice place you've got there! Very whimsical, I like that.

A question or two if I may. How important is the roleplaying aspect of this? I saw that you were asking for an example of emoting on your application form, and your classroom houses seem to be geared towards children.

Which time zone are activities planned for? (I'm in Europe, so if events are meant to be happening in the afternoon SL time, that's not going to be practical. )

I also saw that you have classrooms for art and music, but I've not seen anything about books / literature (except for the children's Story Time area next to the playground). I work in literature and I am a writer, so anything to do with words I'm interested in. Also, I've done open mic events in SL before, and (dabbled in) managing events (concerts, mainly).

Anything else we could discuss later - that is, if you're interested. :)

  12. Great, I'll do that. Thank you!

(shows you how old my shoes are - none of them have an alpha layer. They are from when Invisiprims were a thing. But I don't want to get rid of my Tesla's. :)

  13. I hope this is the right part of the forum to ask this. I wear a standard avatar (mostly because I've been in Second Life since 11 years and if I didn't, a large percentage of my wardrobe would not fit), and I have noticed something recently. All the shoes I have which have a shoe base, especially the ones with high heels, still show part of my heel sticking out rather pointedly. (Newest viewer, shoe size 0).

What has happened, and is there any solution to this problem? I realise that most people won't cam onto my shoes, but it's driving me nuts. :D Thanks!
