  1. Thank you - that makes perfect sense (sad, though).

I will submit the support ticket. I don't want to touch the Knowledge Base, or articles reserved for Lindens, but there are some older articles in the Wiki that appear to be in need of some tlc. We'll see what happens, and in the meantime, I'll read on and make notes. :)

  2. As I was browsing the Second Life Wiki, I noticed that many pages (especially about Mainland, but I am sure there are others) have not been updated in the last 3-4 years, and by now there are broken links everywhere and some of the information is somewhat outdated. The Wiki is not abandoned, as there is new(ish) content on things like Animesh. I am able to log into the Wiki, but I cannot edit anything (even though it says on the help page that I should be able to - another outdated bit of information perhaps?).

What can I do to be able to edit the Second Life Wiki short of submitting a support ticket?

I will screenshot a picture of the feet.

Screenshot a picture of your whole avatar too. People can then tell you if what you are wearing is a classic avatar or a mesh avatar. Make life easier on those who intend to help you.

  4. I love going to live music events. I hang out with a handful of friends - we go dancing a lot, and since my friends are new to SL, I like to show them around. I hang around writer's groups. I like hunts, as they take me to new places (and there's a present too). I tried the creating side, and i might do it again, but my  creativity is usually used up in RL endeavours.

As an introvert, I'm not much into big crowds and lots of inworld chatting, but I do like to take my little yellow bike and drive around mainland roads to explore. I've started with Jeogeot where my home is, but I'm going back to exploring all continents, like I started to a few years ago - that should keep me going for a while!

  5. With all due respect, Sandra, and with due consideration of this and all other posts I see from you in the forum, " You should read [...]" is sound advice.

Of course, I don't know the person in question, I don't know what your avatar looked like at that point, etc etc. But I do know that you are asking very basic questions in this here forum, and when people point you at the information available (and there is a lot available) or quite simply giving yourself a little time to figure things out for yourself, you don't seem to react.

Please understand that I do not mean to be rude or offend, far from it. We were all newbies once, after all (and man, I can still remember flying around on what was then "Orientation Island" and constantly bumping into buildings). However, your "I want it all and I want it now"-way of dealing with every hiccup instead of trying things and looking for solutions yourself won't help you in the long run.

ETA: I can't be sure as English is not my native language, but it seems to me that you sometimes mix up words - newbie room? Newbie forum?

Ginger, you've got -- or had? -- such a lovely look. If you ever do move over to mesh, I'll be fascinated to see where you take it! (And will probably be taking notes.)

    Why thank you! *blush* :)

These photos are very recent by the way, taken while coming upon good looking old stuff from my inventory clear-out.

I wish someone would put a Memory Charm on me so that I can reread all the Harry Potter books without knowing the plot.

Granted, but by the time you start reading the last book you've forgotten what happens in all the others so you have no idea what is going on.

I wish I had my current brain in my 25 year old body.

A few days ago I discovered a  new clothing maker on Flickr, Bakaboo. I highly recommend you all  check it out. Even the guys as they actually have more clothes for the guys than the girl, and while their brightly colored whimsical styles  might not be everyone's tastes, no one can deny they are unique. You will be seeing more of their things in my upcoming posts. This is the Falbala Dress.

I love Bakaboo (and so does my male alt)! Their stuff is good enough to make me want to have a mesh avatar. :)

I think, for me, it's the facial expression and head position that catch my attention in this version, whereas in the earlier one, I think the poster with it's vivid colors was drawing my eyes away from the person.

The picture reminds me of a French art movie. I like it.
