Havok is what models physics on the simulator side. Mesh objects (vehicles made of mesh or maybe like mesh bullets) will give that error when going 'backwards in versions'. So if a mesh object goes from a Pathfinding region to a non Pathfinding region the older version of Havok cannot handle it. This issue will be resolved once the Pathfinding code is live everywhere. Until then it will be an awkward experience and we apologize for that. __Oskar
  2. This week we have infrastructure changes rolling to the main channel and then the Pathfinding beta on RC.  UPDATE: There were issues with Pathfinding and we are putting AvTextures project on Magnum and LeTigre instead. 3. I updated the notes. There are some bug fixes going into LeTigre and Magnum. Also, I am on vacation from now until next week. Maestro will be keeping an eye on the forums and Jira. Have a good one!! __Oskar
  4. Perrie Juran wrote: OK, this is a strange problem. Not sure if this requires a JIRA or what I would file the JIRA under. My Land Lady just moved from an Estate SIM that was on Magnum to a new SIM that is on Main Channel. I used a simple teleporter I made to get from my home to where everyone on the SIM hangs out. One click and I was there. Each time used the 'object' is supposed to return to the same start location. It doesn't. Each time I use it it keeps getting higher and higher. I thought maybe the problem had to do with SVC-7902 but after the restart today the problem is still there. I went and tested on a Magnum and on a Blue Steel SIMs and it works perfectly. But not on Main Channel. Is it broken on Main channel now? We just updated it with the code from BlueSteel. __Oskar

  8. Ayesha Askham wrote: Oskar Thanks for the clarification. So there was no new code on the server - OK, we should expect a restart during our RL afternoon UK time. Just one thing - there are still no release notes to indicate what code to expect on LeTigre. Will they be posted today? I want to do a viewer upgrade today, and I have no intention of letting the sim boot me part way through my inventory reload and settings work. What I posted in this forum is the release notes. I mentioned that yesterday. The LeTIgre roll is still in progress.
  9. I updated the main post. We were unable to complete the LeTigre deploy this morning and will attempt it again Thursday morning. I'm sorry for any inconveniences and appreciate your understanding. __Oskar
  10. Ayesha Askham wrote: Oskar The guys that do the restarts are being a bit antsy today. I just got booted off Woods of Heaven (LeTigre) with the words "You have been logged out of Second Life, your region is going down". No 5 minute warning, none at all. Not nice. Edit: I finally managed to get back onto Woods after 30 minutes down, to find that the sim had been rolled back, and that I was, as I had been at my earlier login, at my Home spot, not where I was logged out. I also noted that the server version had not changed. So what gives, Oskar? Is there no new software or is there a problem? I note that there is nothing pertaining to this week in the LeTigre release notes. There were issues with the release that complicated the normal process. Regions restarted without warning. You will note that I noted above what was going to go to LeTigre today. However since LeTigre had issues this morning I'll need to update that. The wiki pages haven't been updated yet if that is what you are referring to.
  11. Ayesha Askham wrote: Oskar I note that the bugfix for SVC-7902 is not released to Main Server and yet is on Magnum again this week. With the pressure on for a fix to be rolled to Main Server, why the delay?:smileyfrustrated: Secondly although the software rolled to LeTigre last week and due for augmentation this week is supposed not to cause any detectable changes, as I pointed out on the last blog release, there have been some odd subtle changes to sculpty rezzing, should we expect more of the same this week? I know the SVC-7902 fixes are important. I don't make the call on which channel to promote. Those fixes will be promoted next week. In the meantime people who contact support and are strongly affected by this issue could ask to have their regions put onto Magnum. As for sculpty rezzing changes I don't know what you are talking about. Is there a Jira? Do they rez correctly on the RC's that are not LeTigre? __Oskar

MB Robonaught wrote: I have had to reboot my computer in order to be able to log in after a memory crash or sometimes, but not always , after I end the processes of the up to 10 slpugins that remain running after the viewer closes. Yes I know slpugin does not in itself have anything to do with logging in but it is part of the overall login process, I'm not sure I see how that could be tied to a server version. Wouldn't it more likely be a new viewer issue?
  14. MB Robonaught wrote: Oskar, I've gotten reports from just about everyone I know on this issue and have experienced it myself. However I do not think it is the servers being at fault more then it is more a viewer problem and how it interprets data received. In my tests I've traced the problem to a memory release issue where the viewer will continually eat more memory until the person crashes or can't move from lag. On my system I have 5 gigs of memory and when I crash I will have run out. Early symptoms of this are exactly as Lydia reported and have been getting worse of the past few weeks with more frequent crashes. You say it's a viewer issue that is memory related but Lydia said she can't log in. How is that the same? Wouldn't you have to log in before you triggered a memory bloat situation?
  15. Lydia Craig wrote: Oskar what is going on? Since the end of the restarts today it has been all but impossible for me to successfully log in with any viewer. I either lock up, or get horrendous sim ping and then crash. This was not the case this morning and began only after the today's restart. This occurs in every sim I have tried including Garmu, which makes me think that it my not be a RC server problem but something that was done either during the Monday restarts,or during the work done during the evening last night, and somehow activate either by the restart or in the wake of the restart. From what limited contact I have had with other people they too are experiencing this problem and it appears to be growing. This is probably the last thing SL needs at this point for a general failure to be able to log in could will be the start that breaks the back of the player population and leads to a general exodus from sl. This is the only instance I have heard of this. Is this still an issue? __Oskar

And if they were disabled as part of the emergency deploy, shouldn't the Magnum release notes reflect that somewhere? 21. To solve a security issue with the Experience Tools that were deployed to Magnum last week we are doing an emergency simulator rolling restart deploy. This has already begun. Regions on the following channels will be restarted with the fixed code: Main Channel BlueSteel LeTigre Magnum will not be restarted because the issue is not possible in Magnum regions. We will have no rolling restart Tuesday morning. The Wednesday morning RC channels will roll at the usual time. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. __Oskar

Not having reliable teleports or border crossings in place in the blue steel regions really is hurting businesses. There are no improvements to teleports or region crossing on the main channel. The improvements aren't coming until a later date in a new project. The code on main channel was just laying the groundwork.
