  1. Hey guys! I'm a Mainland lover and one of my favorite things to do take POD rides around the Mainland - for me, it's like a video diary of the history of the grid and how it changes. I started recording them about a year ago (with some super chill background music behind the video). In short, I creep down Linden Roads at a super slow pace and turn my computer graphics on high in an attempt to load in all the textures around me. Then I speed up the video and post it on my YouTube channel for residents to watch without all the loading time. I usually list them Friday, but I thought I'd start sharing them in this thread in case anyone was interested! Here was last week's PODscast - I'll post a new one every Friday! And if anyone else has any awesome PODs pictures of videos, let's post them here too!! The more the merrier!

  5. So...I record POD rides and always forget to keep the SURL up so people can see where I am when I'm coasting through so they can find it again. It's somewhere between: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lutra/169/222/43 and http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Amella/242/37/64 I release the next recorded ride on Friday that has this in it, so you might be able to figure it out if you watched the video. Fair warning, though...it's about 15 mins long and it's me coasting down the Atoll Road with some Lofi background music. Here is the video for Friday is you want to swing by and take a peak - maybe it will save you some time hunting.

  8. Dude...we should totally hang out - I'm the same way. It's like 'SL Introverts Unite' - from inside our own homes or only when we are randomly exploring. Haha!
  9. Okay....so it's not a house... but LOOK at this shot I grabbed of some forest roads while I was doing my PODscast yesterday! This looks like it could be straight out of Washington State. AMAZING!
  10. Sorry, a little late to the party here....but.... I own many plots of mainland and I use them for various different projects designed to help make the mainland cooler and more attractive. Right now, I'm buy up abandoned 1024 sqm parcels near Linden Roads/Waterways/Railroads, then build them out to be attractive low lag parcel. I use Linden trees/plants and theme the build to go with the sim climate, then I sell them back to residents for a reasonable cost (and a little profit for myself so I can do it again!) When I'm all done, I make YouTube videos about the experience and then put them on the internet. I know... SL hobbies are weird... haha
  11. I never did find it, so I screenshot the road and made a little texture form it. It's -not- seamless, but it worked for what I was using it for. Here it is if anyone needs it!
  12. Hey guys! Anyone know where I can get this texture that is on the Linden Road infront of my house? Is it listed somewhere for free? Or can I buy it? I don't even know what to call it to look for it on the Marketplace and I didn't see it in the normal Library...
  13. I'm all set to go - if those surls are good, I'll be and I'll send the mins to you if you want.
  14. ChinRey!! You are so helpful! You know everything! Haha
  15. I've found some conflicting information that I need to clarify - maybe you guys can help! I'm trying to navigate how I can help update the mainland grid - specifically some roads near my house. Like all of the road land, it's owned by a group started by Michael Linden called the "Linden Department of Public Works". The group description reads: The blog post doesn't go anywhere. A quick Google search for Linden Department of Public Works sent me here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Department_of_Public_Works and I sent my information to Derrick Linden, but he hasn't responded (To be fair, I'm not sure how often that account gets checked and I bet that poor guy gets a million notecards a day, so I wasn't expecting a response). However, the wiki says this page was last modified on 18 March 2019, so it seems like the project could still be happening, right? The point is - I want to help. I'm a decent builder. I've built more sims, cities, experiences, etc. than I can count. I'm not a mesh creator, but I'm pretty good at pairing up and editing creations other people have made. I could certainly use the stuff in the basic Linden inventory every avatar gets and I think I could even convince a few of my friends that are mesh creators to donate some simple items that can be used to update and beautify the SL mainland grid. At the very least, I can terraform and copy roads. I want to help, but I'm not sure how. Is there a volunteer group for something like this or is getting paid to be a Mole the only way to help? Anyone out there an actual Mole? Or know how to go about submitting your information to join the team?
  16. Awesome! I can't wait to see it! Send me a copy when it's up! I'm Feorie Frimon is world.
