Why is my texture not showing up right on my socks?

Hello All,

 

I am trying t make some simple over the knee socks. I have a nice texture I made with a satin band on the top. When I load this texture onto the socks the top of the band doesnt show.  Should I make the socks on an actual template and make underwears or pants out of them instead of making them actual socks? 

Any suggestion appreciated.

I think by default the socks aren't at their full length. Go into edit appearance mode and set length to 100%. Socks go right up to the crotch area, so that should be plenty for stockings. You should use the template though, same as the underpants or pants, the lower body template anyway.

Two things:

1.  You need to make sure the in-world setting for the sock height is tall enough to show the whole thing.

2.  You need to make sure the alpha channel in your texture doesn't mask away anything you want to be visible.  The opaque parts of the texture must be white in the alpha channel.  The transparent areas must be black in the alpha channel.  Shades of gray in the alpha channel represent translucency.  The lighter the gray, the more opaque.  The darker, the more transparent.
