can an avatar be killed ?

Hello pearkiwi and welcome to SL Forums. How to be killed? With a gun for example? If so, the answer is no. If someone desires to stop SL, he can delete his account. If someone violates the TOS and the Community Standards get banned temporarily or permanently by LL. If you want to add some more details about what exactly you have in your mind, you can edit your post (Options --> Edit).

• Within SL your avatar is immortal
• It is possible to role-play combat/disease/starvation and pretend to die
• You get better as soon as you stop pretending
• Some areas are 'damage enabled', which is for simple built-in combat (health falls from 100% to 0%)
• If you get 'killed' in such an area all that happens is your avatar is teleported to your home location (with 100% health again)

In damage-enabled areas, being struck by or striking an object or terrain hard enough will cause damage sufficient to kill you.  You'll be teleported home with no other consequence when this occurs.
