Odd that anyone would instruct you to wear a prim avatar. It shouldn't matter what you're wearing, as long as you're not nude in a G sim! As far as I know, a prim avatar would be one constructed entirely of prims. Prims are those objects in your inventory that have little boxes next to them. They're also what most of what you see in SL is made of. Buildings, trees, signs, cars, shoes, most hair, all made of prims. A prim avatar might be something like a robot - one where you can't see the avatar mesh, just the bits and pieces attached to the avatar.
Doesn't make sense that someone would demand you wear a prim avatar, but perhaps it means something I'm not thinking of...
